Should I Be Worried?

I'm fresh out of college and while I'm on the job search I'm living with my parents. We live in a big and really old two story house that used to be set up as three apartments. Before my parents moved in, my grandparents lived there for at least 25 years. I used to visit all the time and never felt anything especially weird there, but i can say that I used to be afraid of the basement when I was really young and wouldn't go down there alone. I attributed it to the sound of people walking upstairs freaking me out, and so did everyone else. I recently learned that my mother often saw a man walking from the basement stair case into where the furnace is, but she never told anybody.

After my grandma died in 2007, grandpa was alone in there, the house had a whole different vibe to it. It's like it was darker. For the 4 years after that things started falling apart because grandpa, who is well into his 80's, was having trouble keeping up with repairs and maintenance. I used to spend summers and holidays from college there, and I would do what I could to try to keep it together, but it was just too much for such a short time span that I was there, I barely could get it cleaned up and it was time to go back to school. One night two years ago, i was sleeping and someone yelled HEY, JASMINE! I woke up startled, I looked around and didn't see anyone in the room with me, so I figured grandpa was having a low blood sugar, I went to check on him and he was sleeping normally. I looked it up and thought that maybe it was in my head, but it doesn't seem to fit. I was ASLEEP, I wasn't falling asleep, I had been asleep for a couple of hours.

Last year,grandpa said that he wasn't able to do the stairs anymore. He is 86, so pretty much we do anything we can to keep him safe, mom and dad literally traded him houses. After they moved in they fixed everything up as best they could, although the house still needs a few repairs. One of things that we can't explain is that the basement shower, which is the kind that is attached to one of those big claw foot tubs, had been turning itself on, and on one occasion, by the time someone went down to check if it was on, the bathtub was full to the top, dad said that there was nothing wrong with the plumbing to the tub, and he didn't know why it was happening. As of lately the talking has been happening more and more often and not just to me, I was again startled awake 2 weeks ago by someone yelling my name in my ear, later that day my brother went upstairs into the same room and the closet door flew open, Before that mom was alone in the house, getting ready to cook and she heard a man ask "What's for dinner?" last week we were afraid that my sister had a miscarriage, and she came over to the house while on bed rest so mom could watch over her, she ended up taking a shower and when she was in the basement she heard a man ask her "Pregnant?"

Mom said she has also seen orbs on the first floor, and said that dad saw one too, although he didn't know what it was, he asked her why there was a "black thing" over mom's head. He doesn't believe anything is going on, he says we watch too much television.

a bit of self disclosure, I bought one of those glow in the dark Ouija boards from Hastings around 2008 and I used to keep it hidden in a closet on the upper floor. I gave it away shortly after I got startled awake the first time. I also started reading tarot cards in 2003, and I gave my decks to a close friend of mine a few months ago. While I was at college I moved in with a minister for a couple of months and I sent them off out of respect. My mother is a nurse and she says that nursing homes and hospitals pretty much always have some kind of activity in them. MY sister is a CNA and she pretty much has the same feeling.

Before we moved to the town we live in now, we lived in a house that was across the street from 3 churches and our back yard was across the alley from the city morgue. I never experienced anything at all there, but my sister used to see full body apparitions there every night, and ever time my mother had to spend the night without dad there, the breakers would flip, even if she only kept one light on and nothing else. In the house my grandpa is currently in, I would see a shadow figure walk across the porch, and I've had lights flip off on me once or twice. so I'm wondering if perhaps were a family of ill people, or if stuff like this is drawn to us.

My question is, since everything is pretty infrequent and no one is actually getting hurt, although being shouted awake isn't fun, do we have anything to be worried about? He knows my name and seems to know what were doing and what we talk about.

My name is lexy,since I'm new here I will first typ the whole story.
We moved in our new house when I was 4, as a little girl I had a lot of imaginary friends.
As soon as we moved in this house I had 5, my parents believed this was a fase, but didn't wanna hear about them any more.
Now I'm 16year old, I still feel presences some times and sometimes I hear whispers, someone talking.
A few years ago, I really got in to listening to them, go take a look a soon as I here something.
First I thought it was all imagination, or normal noises, but this stopped when my brother and I were home alone.
We heard loud talking and doors opening. We live in a villa surrounded by 5hectare of fields. So normally we thought it was the other and we both went on the hallway to tell each other to keep it quite. As soon as we came on the hall way a door smacked, my brother thought someone might have broken in and ran downstairs, causing the alarm to go off, which made us realize no one could've been down there. We have 2 dogs out and an alarm we would've heard it if someone was there. My brother not thinking of it just went straight to bed. I went downstairs to find al the lights on, and then hearing someone whisper my name.
After this I looked for information with GCOPS, and have been talking with them ever since. They are now analyzing some Recording material I have sent to them.
The strange noices, voices and things moving a round are still happening, it has become more active since my brother moved out.

Hello. I'm new to this site and really don't know much about the paranormal. I have a photo I took of one of my children that appears to have a strange looking orb above her head. I've had the picture for a while but I never seriously entertained the idea that it could be anything paranormal until recently. I stumbled upon this site while researching orbs online. What I've found is that it seems most people believe that orbs are nothing more than dust, moisture, or refracted light. Which is totally possible in this case since I took the picture right in front of a decorated Christmas tree with a digital camera. I don't know if it's just wishful thinking on my part, but something about it gives me the feeling it is something more. I was hoping someone with a little more experience and wisdom than myself would look at my picture and give me their opinion. I appreciate any insight anyone can share.

A little info about the actual photo. It was taken indoors with a digital camera. I don't specifically remember using the flash but I figure I probably did. I don't know how large the photo will appear when I post it but if you look at it enlarged the actual orb looks spotty and somewhat translucent. The part that seems strange to me is there is a distinct "S" pattern near the bottom. Is that typical for a dust orb? Perhaps a reflection from an ornament? Thanks for any thoughts you can share on this.

I Think My Family Is Being Haunted, Mainly My Daughter

I have had many experiences in my life and about 6 months ago I saw a shadow person in my room in the dark early morning, it walked about 10 feet and disappeared. I was not afraid of this thing, i was only startled but never felt i was in harm. I tried to rationalize this thru my day thinking it was only a dream but I kept going back to the fact I was awake when I saw it. I told my best friend who the night it happened was spending the night at my house in another room and she brought up a story I had told her months prior. I had told her that my son woke me up in the middle of the night very startled and said that he just saw something, I told him he was sleeping and held him until he fell back asleep. I had totally forgot about this because I thought he was only dreaming!!! I was a little freaked out now by the fact that we both saw something in the same room months apart. I asked my son if he remembered any this incident and he told me that it was my grandmother that he had seen that night, she looked like herself but clear, she also walked sideways from my door to the end of the bed looking at him the entire time. I asked him if he was scared of her, he said it shocked him but was not scared.
Now my daughter is 14 and has claimed for the last couple of years to have seen many things in two different apartments, the last apartment she said she saw a head but couldn't tell if it was a male or female. She has claimed to have seen non human shaped dark shadow blobs regularly in our new apartment (same complex, new bldg)and only one tall human shape dark shadow walk into my sons room. Today she was startled by seeing this shadow blob move from her bedside to her closet when she was going to go into her room during daylight. I was taking out the trash and she told me about this immediately when I walked thru the door, her and i sat down and I told her that I had just closed all of the bedroom doors because I saw a mosquito in the living room...... She said that when she walked down the hall both her door and my bedroom door (directly across from each other) were both open, that was how she could see the blob when she got close to her room. Ok so the obvious is the front door created a vacuum effect and opened the doors so I closed the bedrooms doors again and had her open and slam the front door, this did not open either one of the doors.... Now that was out of the way I wanted to reassure her that I do believe her and i wanted to get more details from her. She said that she see things in her room all the time at night and not just the shadows created by lights but the ones that are like clouds above her bed or blobs on the ground.
I think I need to mention something else that my or may not have anything to do with these experiences, my daughter is a sweet, quiet girl that does very well in school. The only downfall she has is she wants to sleep all the time, I mean she could sleep 20 hours straight on the weekend.... I am aware that teenagers are lazy but I was never that tired at her age... weird...

So there is my story, my question is simple.

Can my daughter be haunted? Do you think these shadow blobs are human spirits? Can spirits take your energy?

I've been reading a lot of posts on this forum and it has gotten me even more interested in the paranormal. I remember a lot of odd things happening at my parents' house while growing up. We had a lot of death in our family and we would see things move, doors shut, lights turn off and hear strange noises. Nothing that couldn't be explained, but still very strange.

I asked my dad back home to try video taping the basement and asking some questions. He never believed in ghosts and decided to make a joke out of it. He sent me a list of questions that he would ask like: How bout them lions? Would you like a beer? Why don't you go haunt my son in Arizona? So last night, he turned off all of the lights in the basement and focused the camera on a wall with a space heater. The only visible lights were two red lights on the space heater that kind of look like eyes. He started asking questions and decided to ask, "if you are here with me, blink three times." He didn't notice anything strange, so he turned on the lights and shut the camera off.

As he went to plug the camera into the computer in the basement, a tube of caulk fell off the shelf and scared him, but he just blew it off. As he reviewed the tape, when he got to the question about blinking three times, the red lights on the heater disappeared and reappeared three times. He also saw a shadow figure above the heater. This blew him away and sent chills through his body. He called me today to tell me that he doesn't know how any of that stuff happened, but he now believes in ghosts and is pretty freaked out. He is sending me the video, so hopefully I can upload it on the forums.

Hi all I was wondering if anyone may have any knowledge of what happens to a person when they read tarot cards. I have been reading them for about ten years now and my current deck is about 5 years old. For a short time, I had a group of friends who thought it was a fun little game to play at parties, having me tell them their 'fortune.' My readings have always been eerily accurate, so I get requests from friends from time to time to read for them. The problem is that I've noticed that I get physically exhausted each and every time I do a reading. The more readings I attempt back-to-back, the worse I seem to feel. It isn't a sick feeling (although a negative reading has made me ill in the past), necessarily, but more tired and like I haven't slept in days.I've poked around a bit, but can't find anyone who has experienced this.

I would love to hear from both paranormal believers and skeptics on this topic.

I've posted a few times in the past about a house I lived in years ago that seemed to contain a malevolent presence. I say "seemed" because I'm still on the fence about whether I actually believe in the paranormal, but while I lived in this house I (and the people around me) saw and experienced some extremely disturbing things with no apparent logical explanation. I've done some pretty hardcore yoga training in India since then, and based on certain meditative experiences I do believe that there's more than one plane of existence. I'm still skeptical about most "ghosts" and such though. Either way, I don't ever want another experience like I had in that house.

I'm about to move to Ireland to join my husband for his work, and he's already rented a house for us there. While I was visiting, he mentioned in passing that two of his friends had lived there briefly, but left abruptly because they believed it was haunted. He thought it was a funny anecdote, but it immediately made the hairs on my neck stand up because of my prior (extremely frightening) experience. Later on we were having drinks with the friends (both of whom are pretty solid, rational people) and I asked them about the house. The man got really uncomfortable, said he didn't like talking about it, and went into the other room. I felt bad for asking, but the woman explained it a bit more. She said they had lived there for a few months with no problems - until they decided to move. After they started packing things got weird at night. They would hear heavy footsteps walking up and down the stairs, the doorknobs rattling, and objects crashing to the floor. They would run out but nobody would ever be there. On the worst night she said it sounded like several people running up and down the stairs, and someone knocking and rattling on their bedroom door so loudly they couldn't sleep all night. Of course there was nobody there, but they were sick of it and left the next day.

My question is, what do I do? He's already rented the place and I wish he had mentioned this story before he did. I have two fears:

1) There's nothing in the house, but I'm already sensitized to this kind of thing so I will end up imagining things anyway. I've seen people do strange things with their minds as well in my training, so I'm wondering if I could even end up manifesting something into existence.

2) There's something in the house, and since I'm already going to be afraid going in, it will somehow latch on to me and bother me. This is what happened in the old house. The more fear I expressed, the worse everything got until finally I just had to move - and the phenomena still continued for a couple years after that!

Do you have any tips on how to overcome my nervousness (if it's #1)? Or how to protect myself so I can live there in peace (if it's #2)? Or even talking my husband out of taking this darn house?

last year i went to tim hortons to get an ice cap and all of a sudden i had a flash in my mind about this guy i knew when i was a teenager and i have only hang out with this guy like 4 or 5 times and now 7 years later i just think of him in my mind for no reason and about 5 minutes after that i saw him he was working at the tim hortons.what are the chances of thinking about someone 7 years later and 5 minutes after he is right in front of you.he looked at me like he recognized me but i didn't talk to him since my boyfriend was there and we were in a hurry.he still looked the same nothing had change about him even if he is older like 24 now.do you think it was a sign that i had a flash in my mind before i saw him?

so anyways i was checking up in school traditions this semester and i came across two things, 1) hall 20 is built on a morgue, which is still there just locked, and 2) the theatre building is really haunted.
anyway i checked it out, i'm a sensitive and i noticed a lot. i spent all hallows eve in hall 20 and about a week's worth of days (only open during the day) in the theatre building, and OH YEAH, there is a dfinate presence in both

Free Photo Editing Program?

I know there are quite a few out there, but I need a photo editing program that will allow me to add text to an image and add borders. I would like to get back to making signature banners. I've been using the same sig for ages now since I got rid of my old computer (and the old photo software that I used to use for banner making).

Right now I use Picasa for simple photo editing and like it very much for that purpose. But, unless I'm being a complete dummy and completely missed this feature, it's no use to me when it comes to adding text or custom color borders to images.

I would prefer a program that is free and user-friendly. Free or at least cheap. I wouldn't use it enough to justify paying lots of money, so that leaves Photoshop out. Like I said, my main requirement is the ability to add text and a wide variety of borders. Special effects would be cool too, but that is not a requirement.

All suggestions welcome!

By the way...apologies if I don't reply right away, as I will be out of town until the middle of next week and may not have a chance to check this thread right away.

Has anyone heard, watched, or read that story about Michael Persinger? He made a study concluding that magnetic fields on the temporal lobe could cause the body to experience 'religious encounters'. However a swedish study tried to mimic his results and found no concluding evidence. When I watched the videos, I personally thought he was leading the witnesses on with his questioning. But what do you all think do magnetic fields explain ghosts?

For an English class at my college, we were required to research certain pseudosciences, and I chose to research ghosts and haunted houses. For one of our papers, we had to interview someone who believed in our topic. I interviewed my cousin, a 19-year-old college freshman, and she stated her belief:

"I think that ghosts are demons, masked with people that we love, or know, or are famous or something, because we�ve become more vulnerable to it. Because if demons were to show themselves, they�d be scary, and we wouldn�t want to see that, and so we wouldn�t be vulnerable to it."

I found this to be an interesting belief. I am curious as to what all of your thoughts on this claim might be.

ok so i have had a haunting problem in my home since i was about 12, at first i just felt a presence and something watching me with malice.
when i was 14 i started having nightmares, i would wake up sweating and afraid but remember nothing.
when i was 16 or 17 i opened my eyes to the side of my bed (i felt a presence at the side of my bed and just couldn't ignore it anymore. I couldn't see anything in the dark so i turned my lamp on, when i did i saw a tan skinned woman in red clothing holding a basket of what looked like gore (dripping red) over her head. I closed my eyes and screameed and it was gone.
The worst was when i recently visited home from my dorm, i felt hands on me every time i tried to sleep, grabbing at me and even trying to hurt me, this went on all night until i finally fell asleep around 6 am. I felt it's presence the night before and threatened it offhandidly with an excorcism...i think that's what made it worse...
my family had thought i was crazy until i got a call a few days ago saying that my sister (who just got home) felt a presence and when she got up to check she saw a walking shadow...
i think that with me gone it is starting to target other people...what the heck is this?!
most nights i am afraid to sleep in my room, and with summer coming up i have to go back there...
i want to know how to get rid of it but more importantly i want to know what it is...it has been hounding me for seven years i just...i just need to know...
can anybody help me?

I usually don't even recognize them as such until it actually happens. In the past it truly freaked me out, but the more it has happened the more I've begun to make peace with it. I would however like to better understand when its happening and why it happens if that is possible, and I know books are usually a source of good info.

Just stoping in to say hi, i havent been here in a while, and some people might start looking for my corps :P.

I've been busy with school, ive gone back to get a degree and a better career. its almost done and I'm doing alright. but the passed few days ive been pretty wrecked due to events. i wont go into details but i am in a bad place, trying to remain positive, trying to find the small victories, and just trying to occupy my mind with happy thoughts.

But, i used to be here daily, sometimes 3 times a day, so i figured i would stop by, say hi, and if anybody can spare some good thoughts, i could use them.

As for the bad place I'm in, dont worry, nobody died, nobody is sick, just events happend beyond my control (though i tried) that realy just left me finished.

Jonathan Frid/barnabas Collins

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of legendary actor Jonathan Frid who originated the role of the 200 year old Vampire, Barnabas Collins in the TV series, "Dark Shadows".
He passed away on Friday, April 13th, my birthday, at the age of 87 in his native Ontario.
He had a cameo role in the new film version of "Dark Shadows" with Johnny Depp (Bleh!)
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him when he came to Dallas for a Promotional Tour in October of 1982.

My 175 Year Old House ( And New Haunting?)

Hello everybody. I don't post very much, but I have been a mostly lurking member for many years, and now I need some advice.

A little background on my house: It is a 175 year old farm house (though in a suburban neighborhood) that my husband and I had renovated seven years ago when we bought it. The house was completely gutted down to the wall studs and remodeled. The only original part of the house is the foundation and the cellar. I honestly was a bit worried about moving in at first, because how can a house that pre-dates the Civil War NOT be haunted!?

But, my fears were (initially) put to rest, as up until a few weeks ago, I had had absolutely no paranormal experiences in this house.

Fast forward to 2012, and we now have two daughters, ages 2 1/2 and 4, but we have not done any more work on the house since we moved in. About three weeks ago, my husband was sleeping in my 2 year old's room, because sometimes she needs help staying asleep. I heard the hallway floor creaking and looked up to see if it was my husband. I saw a tall shadow standing outside my bedroom that then walked away. I knew at once that it wasn't my husband, because I could hear him loudly snoring away in the other room. I thought maybe I had dreamed it, so I forgot about it.

Last week, I had just went to the bathroom and laid back down, so I wasn't asleep, when I heard the hallway floor creaking, like someone was walking toward my bedroom. I at first thought it was my husband, so I looked up toward the door and saw a form walk by, which I knew at an instant was not my six foot tall husband. This shape was at least a foot shorter than that and not very well-formed, kind of just a dark shape. I was very unnerved, but I got up to look out my door, and I can see into my daughter's room that my husband is sound asleep and snoring away. There was no form, earthly or otherwise in there with them. My hair was standing on end, and I got very sick to my stomach. I didn't sleep the rest of the night.

The other night, I again heard the hallway floor creaking, but I did not look up. I can't stand the thought of seeing another shape again. My solution has been to sleep with my door closed ( I usually leave it open a few inches to hear my kids). I am very disturbed by this.

I can't seem to figure out why it is happening now, after seven years of living in this house. Why out of the blue? I have had many paranormal experiences in other houses growing up, there was even a shadow person in my house that I lived in with my parents, so I am not unfamiliar with ghostly goings-on. Has anyone had a "haunting" that seem to start out of the blue? What did you do about it?

Back in 1979 I volunteered to work for the March of Dimes Haunted House in Dallas.
They wanted me to be The Mummy, so they wrapped me up in dirty linen and put a full Mummy Head Mask on my head.
The Room Scene was painted to look like it was out in the Sahara and it had a wooden sarcophagus replica leaning up against one of the walls. It even had a lid!
One night as I was working the house I heard a commotion. One of the Hall Monsters came through and told me that 3 College guys were coming through and making trouble.
I DID NOT want to deal with it, so I got into the sarcophagus, put the lid on and stood there quietly, not making a sound.
Five minutes later they walked into my room/scene. I could see them through a little crack.
This is what happened next.

Guy 1: "What's this?"
Guy 2: "Looks like Egypt."
Guy 3: "I don't like this. It's quiet.
Guy 1: "Too quiet."

The look of worry on my face disappeared and a hot, evil grin spread slowly across my face as an idea burned itself into my brain.
Guy 1 took a step toward the sarcophagus. I pushed the lid and it slammed to the ground.
WHAM!!!!
I came roaring out of the sarcophagus like a mad bull!
The three guys FREAKED!
They jumped and screamed! They practically tap danced all over each other trying to get out!
Later the Manager came in and asked me, "what the heck happened in here? You've got 3 college guys outside in tears!"
"Come back in five minutes and I'll show you how I did it."
I repeated my performance for her and she said that was Brilliant!
We were the #1`Haunted House in the City that year.

I just stumbled across the wiki article on Buer and by the looks of this he's either good or evil depending on how you look at him, not that I'm bashing the christians or anything like that but if you want to look from their perspective he's evil and controls 50 hordes of demons.

However apparently he also heals men, teaches both natural and moral logic (I can see why the Christians don't seem to like him) and also teaches the values of herbs and other plants.

My personal stance with demons and other spirits is basically if they do something for you they're going to expect you to return the favor to make things fair which is also mentioned by one of the people whom run Eclipse Metaphysical in a book they wrote on Psionics.

TL;DR

Do you believe that -all- demons and negative inclined spirits are out to get you, why/why not?

I mean seriously, the only negative connotations I've seen on Buer so far is that he allegedly has 50 hordes of demons under his control in hell which would be like if HelenaHandBaskettGStudy (just a bad example) suddenly took a disliking to me and started telling people I was a meth dealer because I was bald.

So yeah, what's your opinion?

So, as the title already says, I was testing a microphone for using with skype, which I thought wasn't working right, because many people complained that they can't hear me very well bla bla, long story short I recorded a bit of silence just to see what the noise floor level was and when listening to it I thought I heard something. I did some equalizing, noise reduction and amplifying and then youtubed it.

I would like get some opinions about this and see if what I make out, matches with what what someone else does. Take a good listen to the beginning of the clip, it sounds like somebody says something disturbing. There were no noises going on when this was recorded, except for the fridge running.

UPDATE: I discovered something interesting within the clip and isolated+enhanced it some more, then posted this clip on youtube
It sounds like a warning that something will happen on June 19th. Should I be worried?

Family Weekend And Ghosts

I nearly forgot to post about this.

As many of you know, I live in the US now, but used to live in Canada. Well, its been about a year and a half since I was able to see the most important members of my family, and they came down to visit last week. A fairly large part of their visit was taking part in several tours in the most haunted city in the US.

So here's the stories...

We went to Myrtles Plantation. Which is really beautiful plantation but much smaller than I thought it would be given all the ghost stories associated with it. The only place I sensed anything was in the main house, which we did a tour in even though we didn't get to go upstairs. There is a mirror there that the tour guide said they have redone with mercury ten times, and the hand prints, drips, and face image always come back. To be honest, the only room I felt anything in is the game room. It felt male, and was watching from half inside the wall. Strangely the tour guide was telling us that the first owner is usually the one seen in that room but thats not who I think I sensed. Instead, it was the image of a man in a painting that the tour guide says never lived in that house but was simply a painting from that era.

The next day we went on a ghost tour. Wow, that tour guide was good, complete with the being dressed in all black and with long hair, he was an excellent storyteller. He didn't tell the story of the LaLauries who he says already have enough promotion from other tour guides. Instead, he talked about Muriels Restaurant where apparently there is so many ghostly happenings that the staff set up a single table all by itself every night stating that its for the ghosts and their guests. We didn't go inside but I did touch the outer area of the building. I sensed two ghosts. One was male and felt confused about something (probably the son of the original owner who lost the house after his mothers death when he gambled it away), and the other... well I don't know what it was. It was, for lack of a better word, fuzzy. As in, not clear. Like looking through an unfocused lense. I didn't see either of them, just sensed a presence.

The tour moved on to Lafitte's Bar which actually is a bar thats been around for nearly 300 years and is probably one of the oldest at least in north america thats been running continuously since it opened. Even through the 1920's when it was effectively a speakeazy. Supposedly its haunted but I didn't sense anything at all. The bar is named after Jean and Pierre Lafitte, the infamous pirates that ran the seas and saved New Orleans from being overrun so many years ago in 1812. Seems the Lafittes often hung out at this bar during that time since it was considered a rather seedy type of place and perfect for illegal activities.

The tour passed a green house thats been around for a very long time. It's got a plaque outside labeling it as "Madame John's Legacy". The owner was killed by the local very canibalistic natives of the time (the tribe no longer exists because it was utterly destroyed by the settlers). Madame John, who was only 16 years old, was left alone with a three year old daughter to raise by herself. With all that space, she decided to open her house as a hostel and did very well. Probably one of the first excellent examples of feminism in the United States. The house is haunted by at least one person. I definitely had the impression of a female, though there were others as well. How many, I don't know.

We stopped at the Old Ursuline Convent. This place is quite remarkable. Story has it that there was something in the attic protected by the nuns and monks until Hurricane Katrina when it got free. The story has been going around for over 250 years. Here's the thing... that place gives me the shivers. Not sure why. Story has it that the thing in the attic was a vampire. Could also have been a demon too by the stories.

I know, it sounds crazy. But when I was 15 I used a Ouija board and really weird stuff started happening shortly after.

I can't say for sure that it was the Ouija board that caused it because the house I lived in at the time always had strange things going on. Mostly noises, footsteps, whispering ect. But after the first time I used it, it would always randomly fall from where ever I put it. I eventually threw it away and it got worse.

The first night after I threw the Ouija bored away, I saw a black figure with no legs, just arms, head and a torso crawl out of a corner in my bedroom, towards my bed. I saw it again the following night and thought I was loosing my mind.

Two weeks later my 7 year old brothers school counselor called and said that my brother had told her 'a black man comes to talk to me at night', when my mother asked him about it he said that it wasn't 'black man' it was 'man in black'. This pretty much proved to me that I wasn't going crazy and this was actually happening.

Over the next 2 years, I, my very skeptical father, my brothers, and even a few friends who were around me often saw this black shadow thing. Every time anyone would see it, there would be a strange sound kind of like someone crunching a plastic candy wrapper just a few seconds before.

I eventually moved out and had no problems for about 4 months. But recently I've started hearing the same crunching noise, followed by a quick black flash somewhere around me and at least 2 other people have seen it as well.

I don't know if it wants to hurt me or anything, but I do think that it's trying to scare me.

So I ask, can a person be haunted?

Also, I don't know if it's related but during the time when it was most active I developed a weird sleeping problem. I would be awake and able to think, but unable to move or speak and I would have to try and shake my self awake. Like I said, I don't know if it's related but I always found it strange that the sleeping thing started at the same time as the "haunting"

Hi All,
About a month ago I was doing some family research on an old cemetery here in the mountains of NC. The point to all this research was to find the old cemetery where my great grandmothers parents were buried so when the family reunion comes around in June I could share all this with the family. Since the road where the cemetery is located starts in two separate but adjoining counties, depending on which end of the road you start on, and pretty much dead ends into the Estatoe river no matter which end you start on, this mission took several hours. All told I think I drove about 100 miles in the two counties that day, but I digress LOL. When I got to the location where the cemetery was generally located I turned around in a cow pasture because I was driving a Lincoln Town car, not my car, and this was beginning to look like it would require 4wd to go any further. I had my 76yo father with me and he thought this was enormously funny since the cow pasture had lots of fresh cow patties scattered throughout it and the field was rather damp since it has rained not long before.

On the way out, just a few yards from the cow pasture, I stopped at two houses to ask where this cemetery might be located should anyone be home. As luck would have it there was someone at the second home and these two women were more than hospitable to this stranger who came to darken their doorstep. After talking with them a few mins.I realized I was not talking to the owner of the property but the sister and mother of the man who owned the house. They were house sitting and told they would return the next day but after looking around and seeing the house looked like an artist�s home they confirmed to me that the man and wife own owned and lived in the house were both artists and had studied at the arts and crafts school I grew up. They said he studied there in the 1980's and I suddenly realized that I likely knew this man. After getting their phone numbers and calling a few days later I realized that I did in fact know him but what was so wonderful about our reuniting was I learned that in addition to being a metalsmith he is also involved in researching Bigfoot. He is a field researcher for this area for the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO). This is the same organization which does the show on Animal Channel. We invited him to come to our paranormal meetings for our group, SAPRS, and he talked about some of the local sightings of Bigfoot and how the research is being conducted today and what techniques they use to try and legitimately research this phenomenon. After talking to him we learned that it would appear that there is a correlation between bigfoot and paranormal events. This would not surprise me in the least and I�ve hiked the mountains and heard many sounds off in the distance that very well may have been him. At any rate we have not only renewed a friendship but have decided that having each other available for referral when it comes to events where our interests will eventually overlap would be a very good thing. To that end I have sent him the link to this group and I do hope he will not only join us but offer insight to bigfoot and perhaps enlighten us as to the overlap between the areas where bigfoot is reported to be seen and paranormal events are alleged to occur as well.

I would strenuously recommend anyone who may encounter anything which might lean in the direction of this creature to contact BFRO to report your experiences and sightings. All I can say is what a delightful and happy accident it has been finding him if for no other reason than we knew each other way back when. LOL

The Ghosts Of The University Of Montevallo

South of Birmingham, Alabama is the town of Montevallo. In Montevallo lies the famous university that bears its towns name. However, this institution of learning is not famous for its academics, but the ghosts that roams its halls. There are many ghosts in the old historic buildings on the campus. I�m going to focus on one ghost who allegedly haunts the 4th floor of Old Main Hall.

Old Main Hall is the women�s residence on campus. Back in 1908, a student named Condie Cunningham was cooking hot fudge on a burner in her room. This was not allowed on campus at the time, but nonetheless, Condie and her friends were doing it anyway. Apparently, an alcohol bottle was accidentally knocked over, causing a fire. The fire caught onto Condie�s night gown, and as a normal human reaction, she began to run.

Now, as most people know, running is the worst thing you can do when you�re on fire. As a result, a few feet down the hall the flames consumed Condie�s entire body. Ever since her death, her ghost has haunted the 4th floor of Old Main Hall. Students living on the floor report the horrifying scream of a woman, footsteps in the halls when no one is there, and someone opening and closing bathroom stalls and dorm doors. Out of all these paranormal occurrences, the most intriguing is the wooden door of Condie�s old room.

After Condie�s death, Condie�s face with flames surrounding her had appeared. The school has changed this door three different times, and each time the same image comes back. Currently, in the attic of Old Main Hall, one of the doors with the image is still stained on it. Even 100 years after the tragedy of Condie, young girls who are looking at colleges in Alabama need to take into account of the fact that they just might be dorming with someone who is not alive.

I am wondering why underwater paranormal investigators typically rely on sonar devices rather than on EMF detection. A Black Shadow Man Hurting My 3 Year Old Son

We have lived in our house for 10 years. We have two boys the oldest is nearlly 10 and my youngest son is 3 years old. When my oldest son was around 2- 3 he used to say there was a man in his room. He would suffer sleepless nights we thought he was just having nightmares never really questioned him about it. I cant remember when he stopped telling us maybe 4 or 5 year old. My youngest son is now in my oldest son old room. Since my youngest son was around 1 and half he also started mentioning a black man i started to think this was a bit weired. Now the past several months have got really bad my son is really scared would wake up several times in the night saying the man is there. We have put a night light in his room and leave the landing light on with his door open- No change. He has told me that he is a black shadow man he doestnt have a face i asked did he know his name he just says its the scary man. He said he doesnt talk to him. When we put him to bed i would kindly ask the man to leave him to sleep and tell my son to tell him to but its not worked. Then 3 nights ago he started crying as i said it was bed time- please note before all this started my son loved bed times had no problems at all. Anyway he started crying saying he didnt want to go to bed as the black man is hurting him. This really scared me i asked him how he is hurting him, my son started to smack my chest. He said he smacks me and he hit is face and back also. He said he wanted to sleep down stairs as he was scared. I was so scared myself but angry too. I believe him and believe there is something in our house as over the years i can be sitting and see out of the corner of my eye a shadow go past the landing but just thought oh dont be silly. Any way back to the conversation 3 nights ago as we were talking this all took place down stairs in the sitting room he said he is over there and pointed to the wall we couldnt see anything but by his face he could. That night i went into my sons room and asked the man not to hurt my son and to leave but i was really scared but mad too. That night my 3 year old son slept in our bed he slept right through he didnt see the man all night. The next night i desided to put him in my other sons room we moved his bedding as my oldest son has bunk beds. We were down stairs watching tv when both my sons come down stairs and my youngest son said mammy i thought you told the man to go away. I said i did he said he went in his room to get a toy and the man was there so he ran straight out. This was around 5pm so it wasnt dark. My son slept in my oldest sons room ok apart from we heard a thump the 2nd night we also have the baby monitor set up. I ran upstairs my son was fast alseep. Last night we heard the thump again i went upstairs my son was on all fours on the floor maybe he fell out of bed maybe not. My husband doesnt believe in ghosts or anything like that but i do and I'm really scared. Ive spoke to my sisters they suggest we get someone in to bless the house i just dont know were to start or what to do. Any advise would be great thanks

Giant Feathered Dinosaur Discovered In China

It is by far the biggest feathered dinosaur ever to have been unearthed and raises intriguing questions as to why some of these scaly reptiles developed plumage.

Three nearly complete skeletons of the dinosaur have been uncovered in beds of sediment in Liaoning province, northeastern China, scientists reported in Nature.

The soil has been dated to around 125 million years ago to the mid-Cretaceous period, at the peak of the dinosaurs' long reign over the planet.

The new species has been named Yutyrannus huali, an amalgam of Latin and Mandarin which means "beautiful feathered tyrant."

"The feathers of Yutyrannus were simple filaments," said Xu Xing, a legendary fossil hunter from Beijing's Institute of Vertebrate Palaeontology and Palaeoanthropology.

"They were more like the fuzzy down of a modern baby chick than the stiff plumes of an adult bird."

The fossils include part of the Yutyrannus tail and, most valuably, its skull.

They reveal the sharp teeth, three-fingered hand and pointed head of a typical theropod � a carnivore that walked on its hind legs.

At adult size, a Yutyrannus would have been about 30 feet long and weighed around 1.4 tons, with feathers at least six inches long.

That makes it a midget compared to its cousin T. rex but a giant compared to the Beipiaosaurus, the previous plumed record-breaker, which was 40 times lighter.

Yutyrannus was too big to fly and in any case the feathers were too downy to even get it off the ground, says the paper.

That raises the theory that the feathers evolved for insulation at what was an unusually cool time of the long Cretaceous era.

But another idea is that the feathers were there for display, as birds use them for mating purposes.

The nearly complete skeletons came from the Yixian Formation in Liaoning, which has been a treasure trove of dinosaurs.

Discoveries there have bolstered the theory that birds today are the descendants of small feathered theropods that took to the trees, either for food or safety, and then learned to glide or fly.

"Yutyrannus dramatically increases the size range of dinosaurs for which we have definite evidence of feathers," Xu said.

"It's possible that feathers were much more widespread, at least among the meat-eating dinosaurs, than most scientists would have guessed even a few years ago."

I Saw A Ghost And Shadow People

Something strange has happen to me.it all begin when i was 14 now I'm 22.i use to see a ghost.when i woke up in the middle of the night i could see him.he always sat on a chair beside the fridge. he had blond hair with an orange shirt with the number 22 or 23 on the back, and beige coloured pants. he never bothered me. i would see him about 3 or 4 times a week always at night.there are other things i saw too.i use to see shadow people.when i looked out the window i could see them.they were three men wearing black clothes.always standing up watching me.i saw those things for a year and a half . after i moved i never saw the shadow people or the ghost but the strange thing is the day before i moved out. the ghost came and sat on the bed beside me when i was sleeping. he kissed me and then i looked at him i was scared and then he dissapeared.its been 7 years since this and still think about it everyday.i wish there was an answer to this.its strange but i miss seeing the ghost. i wish he would come back.

So, I am sure you don't remember, considering my posts on this subject were almost eight years ago, but when I was a teenager my family and I moved into a house that was haunted. A lot of adventures happened in that house, (I'm actually writing a book about it) things that I thought only happened in movies.
There was a spirit in the house when we moved in, who I later discovered was a teenager named Thomas. I was about 16 at the time and became completely fascinated with our haunting. I soon did some stupid things and toyed around with a ouija board, eventually getting my butt handed to me and learning my lesson with the thing.
Anyway, long story short, I let something into that house that remains there to this day. The house was never able to find a permanent resident after we left, and was actually abandoned for a long time. The "thing" stayed in that house, but Thomas has followed me.
I moved away from my hometown when I graduated and noticed antics that were "distinctly Tom" would happen in every single place I moved.
To this day, I think he is still with me.
Any ideas why? Is this a big deal?

Ok i recently moved to Grand Lake colorado into a nice cabin home over looking the lake. this ghost or what ever it is, I have a feeling it might be demonic.. for the 1s couple months it was just knocks on the wall mainly on the wall that is in the bed room on the closet back side of the closet on the other side of this wall is the living room we hear him banging around in there all the time mainly at night though (HE IS DOING IT NOW) we have heard this knocking pretty much from day 1 we called him Herman and kinda laugh about it, Yeah the cabin is definitely haunted oh well.... well about 3-4 nights ago i was up late after midnight and couldnt sleep and herman was making the normal knocks and thuds he has a whole assortment of knocks and pecks anyway i decided to put my phone in the closet and record some video and see what i get. the 1st time i let it run 5 or 10 min. i ask him a few questions dont remember them all but i ask him his name and it sounded like someone saying sshh or something its hard to explain. so i kept it up all night. recording then listening on and on. Then about 5am i got the recorder played it back and you can hear very clearly this Ghost/demon say (I WILL HANG THE BOTH OF US) he says this in a very demonic voice. so every since i have just been sticking the phone in the closet and recording i have a ton tape but night before last i did something different. I walked out of the room and shut the light out well the TV was on when i did this a few min. went by and there is a clicking sound or popping sound and then the TV flash's and starts showing random stuff sometimes you can see what looks like demonic face's or something and then as i walk back in the room he clicks and the TV switch's back to normal. its not hard to get this footage i have it all on video. but when and what started scaring me was last night i had the camera in the closet and my G/F walked in the room and it started growling and she approached the closet started getting dark. there is quite a bit more but this is the main scary as hell things that have taken place over the last few days 1 more thing i would like to add when i put the phone/camera in the closet it flutters in and out when i remove it it works perfectly it only does this in the closet. i have all this that i have mentioned on audio and video its all 100% true and not fabricated or faked in anyway. this ghost is intensifying its presence since i started this camera ordeal a few days back. i just wanna know what should or can i do? since he said I'm gonna hang the both of us do you think maybe he hung himself in the house? in that closet? but he can come out of there when he wants to he just spends most of the time in the closet there is a door to the attic in the closet also and when i tell him I'm going to go up there and look around he starts clicking and clanking only you cant hear it, you can only hear it when you play the video back and believe you me its defiantly there! i dont understand if he can hit on the walls why cant he make those clicking sounds so we can hear them dont get me wrong i dont want him to learn how to be heard vocally!! he seems to have picked up because he knows i am looking to rid the house of him. The closet he stays in is on the otherside of the wall where i am sitting right now is he looking over my shoulder?

Hi i forgot to mention that that i stopped sleeping in the room night before last and last night it was knocking and pecking on all the walls in the living room this started around 2:30 or 3:00am. i turned my camera on and videoed the whole room and there is like a blue haze or something all over the room ether its all over the room or i am right in the middle of this and i can tell where this energy is while looking through the LCD on the phone scanning the room because it is very blurry in that spot and dark i think that is where he is. i have a female roommate and 1 dog the dog dont seem to mind this ghost and the ghost dont mind the dog But night before last my dog came in the bed room while i was recording and the ghost started breathing almost like a dog (or something) but the ghost dont like the roommate at all! i have him on video growling when she entered the room and an other time she approached the closet and looked in and the closet got very dark not for a second it kept getting darker and blurrier darker and blurrier untill the end of the recording when i entered the room the light returned to normal... and the video picks up lots of sounds that you dont hear like clicks laud clicks clicks that have like an echo sound starting off laud echoing on down. i am sorry i dont know the terminology i am just describing what i hear and see on the video and hear

Is There A Way To Find Out Who You Were In A Previous Life?

Hello everyone,
I come to you today wondering if anyone here has ever felt that they have lived before? As in, does anyone ever get the feeling that they have been reincarnated into this life from a previous one?
I ask because lately I have been wondering who I was in a previous life. I am almost certain I had one because of clues I have gotten throughout this life. For example, I am only fluent in the English language; however, sometimes I have weird episodes where I do not understand English for minutes on end! I.e. I have been in conversation with people before and, out of nowhere, I no longer understand anything they are saying to me in English... it is like a complete foreign language to me and no matter how many times I ask them to repeat themselves, I still will not understand! Strange huh? I believe that these occurences could mean that I did not speak English in my previous life and that I probably was not from this part of the world. As well, I also have A LOT of cases of deja vu, where I feel that I am remembering something from my long-lost past... It is these things that are making me really wonder who I was and what connection my previous life has to my current one!
So, my ultimate question is, is there a way to find out/remember who you were and what life you used to live? Thank you to anyone who responds

Hello I've been gone from the forum in so long, but I'm very happy to be back! My computer went down and took awhile before I coild get it fixed. Ever since I was younger I always believed in ghosts and overtime I got very hooked on it. Still to this day I get fasinated by ghost stories and hauntings. Why Can't I See, Sense, Feel, Ghosts?

I have had three somewhat ghostly experiences in my life, here is a quick synopsis of them.

Two were animal.
1.) Mom and I had to put two kittens to sleep (they were very very ill) when I was maybe 7 years old. I was very upset and distraught over this, and I remember standing in to the doorway of my room crying. I caught a light at the corner of my eye and I looked at the wall next to me. I saw a glowing ball that was flat against the wall, not a spherical orb. It looked kind of like a flashlight except it didnt have the rings, it was just a circular ball of light. I watched it go from one wall to the one adjacent to it, again as if someone was shining a flash light against a wall (mind you this was in the middle of the day and I was the only one in my room) The ball of light stopped in the middle of the other wall and shimmered - and what I saw was the face of a kitten in this ball of light. It shimmered again and disappeared.

2.) Saw a cat walking toward me, and as it got closer to me it disappeared into this air. This took place when I was reading my book and saw something again at the corner of my eye.

3.) Was at my grandparents house and heard someone walking around downstairs in the kitchen, went downstairs and there was no one in the kitchen yet I kept hearing the sound of slippers walking right in front of me! That was terrifying lol

But have I ever 'seen' a ghost? No, I have not,, except for the 'animal ghosts'. When I was spectrophobic I was asked by people if I was sensitive to ghosts, they wondered if I was afraid of them because I could sense them. All I could tell them was No, I've never seen or felt anything.
Now I have the near constant feeling that someone is watching me (dont put me in a room alone, I always feel like something is watching me, but I could just be paranoid lol)

when I finally admitted to myself that ghosts do exist, and I accepted that they are real, I told myself the reason why I never sensed or felt them was because they plainly new that I didn't want them around and either respected me enough not to show themselves or somehow couldnt because I didnt want them too. (just me trying to explain things to myself)

And now....now I not only do want to see, but I have audibly and mentally given permission to whatever spirits there are to make their presence known. And yet I still can't, I understand its not as easy as belieiving, but you see I'm not naturally sensitive to the supernatural. Maybe because I was afraid and in denial of it so long.
But either way I'm different now, I do believe and I do want to see.

I've stayed in a haunted location several times and never saw anything. (I was never alone though)

Does anyone else have my problem?

Hands Appearing On Couch Where I Was Just Sitting...

I was sitting on my couch watching tv with my 4 yr old son one evening back in December 2011 and I got up to go to the kitchen for a drink... When I returned I saw these hands on the couch pillow I was just sitting on and was immediately freaked out! I did think maybe I somehow could have made these myself by sitting on my own hands but the shape of the hands were much larger than my girlie hands and there can be no way they could have appeared so detailed. No one else was over that day and I made sure to show my husband when he got home so that I could confirm I wasn't going crazy! We've lived in the house for 3 years and have had no other strange experiences but this one.

Anyone have any insight on what could have caused this?

'sweet-Toothed Ghost' Haunts Australian Supermarket

Paranormal investigators may have a startling new piece of information to use in their never-ending quest to make contact with ghosts: They have a thing for Fruit Roll-Ups.

Well, at least an alleged apparition in Brompton, South Australia, does.

A startling new security camera video taken at the IGA store shows a pack of Fruit Roll-Ups being tossed, depending on who you talk to, between and 18 and 36 feet away from its original location -- despite no one being visible nearby.

Security cameras have shown how one box mysteriously jumped six meters from its original location on the floor of the IGA store in Adelaide, despite no one being present, according to Metro.co.uk.

When owner Norm Hurst bought the store in October, he was told to expect the unexpected.

"The previous owners told me it was haunted," Hurst told Adelaide Now. "I thought, 'Yeah, whatever.' But since we've owned the place, strange things have happened."

Hurst changed his tune last Thursday after security cameras picked up the footage of the Fruit Roll-Up being mysteriously flung past the past on to the floor.

"Strange," he drawled.

What's most shocking to Hurst is the vigor with which the Roll-Ups are flung, the Herald Sun reported.

"One of the cameras shows the packet of Roll-Ups just arriving on the ground ... it has not just slid off, it has been thrown out of the pasta, yet the Roll-Ups are kept 12 metres away," Hurst said.

What is causing the mysterious activity at the IGA is still unknown, but one theory offered by the stars of the Australian morning talk show Sunrise On 7 suggests it's connected with the 1998 death of a boxer who was gunned down on the sidewalk outside the store.

Former Spectrophobiac, Now A Believer And Seeker!

How Does This Broom Stand Up On Its Own?

Hi! I am new here. Perhaps I should have posted in the newbies forum first but I was eagar to share this photo - when I get some time today I will most definitely do that. But for now here is the story of this photo (and excuse my terrible spelling)

My friend sent me this photo, he said he walked into his kitchen one say and that the broom was literally standing completely straight up without any hold. He told me his Mom was sweeping and then let go of the broom to let it fall against the counter and well...it never fell!
I think it's an interesting photo. I have been in that house and I personally have never sensed anything - (thats part of my problem which I will complain about in the newbies forum lol)

Knowing my friend he wouldnt try and play a prank on me - he was just as creeped out as I was!

If there is anyone who doubts any paranormal action here I ask one thing: Assume for a minute that there is no strong, or any trick purposely holding the broom upright, what do you think this could be?
I'm due to spend a couple days over there this weekend, maybe I'll be lucky! :-)

Well, hello everyone New guy here. You can call me powbam or Casey, whichever floats yer boat. Ran across these forums the other night and enjoyed reading about peoples personal experiences and got to thinking some out there might find mine a little interesting.

For starters I am getting close to being 34 years old. The incident(s) which shaped my views on life and death began when I was 15/16, sometime around then.

My mother around this point had made the decision to move from Louisville, KY to the boonies of Edmonson Co. (KY). For those familiar with the area it is about 30-45 mins. away from Bowling Green, KY. (ONE) of the houses we moved into was around a mile or so away from the Mammoth Cave National Park system and my Grandmothers home. The middle of nowhere.

The house was rather small and old. It had an upstairs which contained only 1 bedroom. My bedroom, which contained one window. Outside this window and to the left close to the house was a street light. I always thought that was kinda funny and weird. At night, as I discovered my first night, light shone from it into my window. My bed was against the wall opposite from the window with the foot of the bed facing toward it. I lay down to fall asleep that night and sleep came.

Suddenly I was awake. 3 things are immediately obvious to me.

1. There is a dark shadow figure of a man standing in front of my window. He is wearing an old style brim hat.
2. I can't move.
3. I don't know how I know this, I just do, but I am very aware that I had literally JUST fallen into sleep when I awoke in this condition.

While I am processing all this the figure begins moving toward my bed. Not in a normal manner. Imagine it more like a strobe effect without the strobe. 1 second he's in one spot, the next, another. That kind of deal. All the way to the foot of my bed. I still cannot move but I assure you my mind is struggling heroically to figure out just where the hell my Willpower went and why my limbs won't respond. And I'm also thinking "What now?"

He somehow rewinds his self back to the window. The process repeats.

To clarify, before all this I HAVE never had any reason or inclination to believe in ghosts or spirits or whathaveyou. Somewhere around this moment that had all changed.

He does the whole song and dance 3 or 4 times total. I struggle to move something, anything really, the entire time. I have the STRONG feeling that if I could just move even my pinky a little bit it would break whatever was going on. He disappears and I can move again. I have the impression that I'm not wanted here. At the moment I don't really feel like arguing about it and get up out of the bed and go downstairs to sleep.

I don't mention it to anyone and though I use my room during the day I never sleep in it again. I find out that doesn't really matter.

For the most part I sleep down on the living room couch or on a cot in my brothers room, which happens to literally be at the bottom of the stairs. This particular night I've decided on the couch. I'm in a fetal position, facing into the couch, in such a way that when my eyes are open they are looking at my arms. I fall asleep and the moment I do... you guessed it. Wide awake looking at my inner forearm. Can't move a muscle. The inner struggle takes up again. Definition=Panic.

Writing (in red) begins showing on my arm. I'm seeing it and I'm not. The first letter was "I". He was trying to tell me something but I'm seriously only interested in breaking free. It ends sooner than the first time. I'm also slightly wishing I'd been able to read what it was saying. But what's done is done. And I'm starting to grow more worried about it all and really, really, really not wanting to sleep alone anymore. I get to thinking that maybe if I'm near someone else he won't bother me.

The next night after I make an executive decision to sleep in my little sisters room. She is about 5 or 6 I think at this time. She's already asleep, on her side facing toward me. I get in next to her as quietly as possible and lay on my back. I can still see her mostly out of my peripheral. I finally fall asleep. The bast*** wakes me up again. This time he ups the jerk factor. I see my little sister rise up and put her hand around my neck. I can feel him(her) looking at me. How in the f*****g hell is he doing this?

This is what I know. He's figured out something that he can control people to an extent when they cross the sleep boundary. This is seriously the only times I've ever noticed signs of a ghost/presence in the house. As far as using my sister like that I have debated long and hard within myself if he actually took control of her or if he manipulated my mind to make it appear so. After all, he was initiating contact from my sleep states. I assure you however that once he'd begun I was well and fully awake. There is no doubt whatsoever in this part.

Back to the neck grab. It doesn't last long and he puts her back down to sleep and frees me. I am right now creeped out of my mind and starting to become scared and concerned. If he could make my little sister do that what else could he possibly do?

In the morning I don't hesitate and go to my mother. I ask her if she's noticed anything weird in the house. She gives me a sharp look and a short pause and says "Don't say another word Case. First, let me tell you what I've seen."

My mother likes to fall asleep with the T.V. on. Always has that I can remember. Some channels go out after so late and nothing but static. Could be rather annoying. I can think of one person/thing that might think so.

And these circumstances are what she describes to me. And then she mentions being abruptly awakened. Her contact, however is a little bit different. She can see him. Facial features, everything. With one important distinction. His seemingly solid body is half in half out of a closed bedroom door. Kinda of like he is leaning into the room. And he is MAD. Spitting mad she says. He's screaming at her to turn the cursed T.V. off. Then he disappears and lets her go. She gets up and turns it off.

I feel huge relief by all this. Because I know she will believe my story now.

For some years after this and moved away I still woke up sometimes not being able to move but, thankfully, without the haunting part of it. That side of it was tied to the ghost and the house. I think his doing this to me caused it to become a feature though. One time I awoke to an unusual sight. Something was very, very close in front of my eyes and it took some puzzling out to realize what it was. I was literally looking at the side of my jaw. When I realized it and the implications I jerked back into my body. Another time I awoke to find myself above myself on the ceiling. The incident that kicked off those two experiences was when I became friends with a girl when I was around 18/19 yrs old who claimed to be kinda psychic.

One night at the park all us friends used to go to we had decided that she was going to try to read me. It was just her and I sitting cross-legged on the ground near the park building/bathrooms. We got relaxed and she took my hands. We closed our eyes. Right then I had a thought arise. It seems ridiculous. What happened however wasn't. I thought, "Wouldn't it be cool if I could leave my body and go wherever I wanted."

Just a simple, stupid daydream fantasy 18 year old kind of thought right?

Apparently not because I kid you not no sooner than I thought those words I felt a WHOOSH. Now keep in mind we had both closed our eyes. So everything was pitch-black (and the sun had fallen a hour or so before that also). But now there was a difference. I felt/saw a blueish color around myself and everything was VERY black around me except for where I was looking and I WAS looking now because I realized my eyes weren't closed. What I was looking at was at two people in this sea of darkness sitting on the ground. Then, OH!, I realize I'm looking at her and I and I'm way above us. And I'm shocked by the realization and I feel myself slammed home. My eyes open(re-open?) at the same time as hers and she has a horrified? (I THINK) look on her face. The first words out of her mouth being What the F did you just do?!

I didn't rightly know the answer to that question so all I could tell her was what my thought had been. And it dawned on me why she was looking at me like that. Whatever had happened had happened to HER also. She had been next to me up there and my thought had somehow kicked this off. And I had scared the living *** out of her. Not saying I wasn't a little in awe of the situation myself.

Believe it or not people these are my true experiences from when I was younger. Nothing comes close to it since tho. If anyone at all has had a similar experience with the type of ghost and/or with leaving your body I desperately want to know more about these particular things. And honestly, these days I'm thinking the out of body experiences are a result of the way that ghost chose to interact with me. Kind of like his method might have opened me up to the potential for those experiences.

So this is my shot in the dark at trying to find others who have experienced something more than the run of the mill ghost stuff.

An Interesting Encounter

On March 22nd 2011 at around 10pm, a group of my friends and I were walking near the ruins of a victorian house (in the local park) when we saw what looked like the shadow ghost of a man cycle past silently. We all thought we'd seen a "ghost" and it had appeared because one of my friends was carrying a bike, that had "triggered" it, and didn't see it again (at least for a while.)

On March 20th 2012, my best friend and I were on a ghost-hunt in the same park but by the cascades there (from Edwardian times) and at a later time. My best friend saw what he described as a fast moving shadow pass him on what seemed to be a bicycle at midnight.

I make a note of every supernatural event I see and checked my notes. To my surprise, both these instances occured on the Tuesday on the 12th week of the year. This proves to me that there seems to be a residual of a cyclist in the park that appears on the 12th tuesday of the year at different times in different areas.

We are returning to the park next tueday to check if it's a weekly repeated event or just every year. We'll also check in a month's time, in case it repeats monthly. I will report back on the Wednesday.

The grounds around Kimberly Bois' condo are filled with daisies, bearded irises, lavender, and hydrangeas � a piece of floral serenity that's getting Bois sued.

The Atlantic Pointe condo association wants her to pull up the perennials, and since Oct. 24 has been fining her first $25 per day and then $50 per day for every day the flowers remain.
But the New Hampshire woman says she planted the flowers with permission from the developer, before there was a condo board at the Portsmouth complex. (Also, Bois' late mother helped her with the planting.)

Last month, the board notified Bois that a lien had been placed on her condo for $4,500 in unpaid fines; it also wants her to pay the attorney's fees now that the board is suing her.
Instead, she hired her own attorney, along with a neighbor who is getting flak for adding stone walls and a patio around his condo. The attorney for the condo board says that the grounds
are a common area over which the board has jurisdiction, and adds, "The practical implication is that what one person thinks is beautiful, another person thinks is horrible."

Can You Dream Of Your Soul Mate Before You Meet Them?

Hi everyone,
Been a while since I posted, but I must get your opinions on whether it is possible to meet your soul mate in a dream before meeting them in "real life". I ask because not too long ago I was in a very dark place emotionally and I asked for help to anyone who would listen. Later that night I had a very peculiar dream and idk if it was b/c I was so upset & my subconscious stepped in or b/c of something unknown/paranormal.
Basically, in the dream, I was with a man who I knew was my soul mate & we were very much in love. Although, he told me in the dream that he was not alive in this life anymore and was already on "the other side" because of a tragedy. He even gave me his name which was very odd- I believe it was Taylor Macleod. In the dream I met his mother and asked her about him and she told me about how he died a few years ago. As the dream progressed, Taylor and I were walking hand in hand near a field and I saw my dog come up from behind us(she has been dead for several months now) and start talking to me. I remember she was very distressed and told me not to forget her and that she was very worried that I would and that she was visiting me just to tell me that... I remember hugging her and telling her I never would and reassured her of my love for her. That was when Taylor started to disappear to the point that only his hand was left. He was telling me in my mind that he had to leave me now and we held hands very tightly as I said 'goodbye'. It was at this point that I woke up. And usually I am used to waking up from such strange dreams with my blankets being a mess and all over the floor, but when I woke up from this dream I was actually tucked perfectly in bed. :/
Regardless of what the dream actually was about, it made me think about a lot. What are your thoughts on meeting your soul mate in a dream?

I remember watching a clip of an investigator who was up in an attic and there are pics of him being hung with rope on one of the rafters. This always scared the crud out of me and I believed it could be legit. Now I'm not too sure. I've come across a vid that goes into alot more detail about that case and towards the end the entity follows the researchers home. What they video seems to be overacted and fake. What do you guys think?

My mother in law recently lost 2 of her dogs to old age and illness. This pic was taken March 1st. This is my lovely nephew Shaun celebrating his 5th birthday.

Anyway to the left you will notice the white area. It could be reflection from the wrapping paper etc but if you look behind it there seem to be a shape of a doggy. My MIL's dog Nicky to be precise. I know there's a lot of natural factors that be be at play but my MIL is very happy with this picture so I'm not telling her all the things it COULD be.
Could anyone mess with this to bring out that shape more?

A co-worker from last summer who i barely talked to lost her brother to cancer. She had added me on facebook so i wrote two comments on her wall trying to offer solace. I found out that they were rasing money for the Cancer Canadian Society they are hoping to raise 1000$. She is part of a team of 10 people called the "Life Savers" that will spend a night walking in the streets from 19:00 to 7:00 for reashers on Cancer.

My name is going to be showing and i gave 50$. I do admit to have a liking for this girl but i barely know her and i don't want to use her bother dead to get closer. I hope it sends the message that i am social and that i care what happens in her life or my friend life. That i am not a creep hiding behind the computer.

Help With A Case In Nc

Hi All. I've debated about posting this information because it is so very specific to a horrific crime that happened in 1954 but since it was reported in the newpapers back then and since all the medical information is public I thought it might be ok to post this, minus the gory details, in hopes that we might find out more information regarding the incident and the rumored haunting.

The Blue Ridge Mountains of NC where I live has no shortage of legends, tall tales, rumors of strange events, superstitions, and ghost stories. Nor is there a shortage of stories of historical tragedy, hardship, violence, and man�s inhumanity to man. My group has spent a fair amount of energy trying to research and document the historical happenings around a horrible tragedy that happened in Avery County, NC December of 1954. Apparently a man by the name of Andrew Sparks, a watch maker by trade, had TB. He was bounced in and out of Tuberculosis sanatoriums here in NC and eventually was diagnosed additionally with depressive psychotic (per his death certificate). After being released from a sanatorium in Black Mountain, NC two days later he shot and killed his whole family then turned the gun on himself. After the crime scene had been discovered the next day by his father-in-law he was taken to Grace Hospital in Banner Elk, NC where he lived for another 16 hours before dying.

Of course the property and house where this horrible tragedy took place is rumored to be haunted. The house stood until last November or December 2011 we think. We have heard that it was burned down either because it was a meth lab or the owner stored tree chemicals used on Christmas trees in the building. We�ve done pretty extensive historical research obtaining all the death certificates, newspaper articles, and physically went to Avery County to find the graves. The father was buried in a separate cemetery than the wife and children. In fact the children�s graves do not even list a last name on the grave markers and the mother is buried under her maiden name. Also after finding the graves we discovered that Andrew Spark�s father died 2 months prior to his killing his family and himself. After doing some more research it would seem that his father committed suicide as well. Obviously this is the kind of tragic event that genuinely tears at families and we would never wish to be insensitive or contribute to their pain. We simply are trying to discover the truth especially about the place being haunted and try to make more sense out of such a sad and violent event. We know there are a number of folks here from NC that knows quite a bit about the history of the area and paranormal events that tend to haunt these mountains. So if anyone knowing anything that would help us further with either the historical background or alleged accounts and type of occurrences of paranormal activity if you would post or contact us we would appreciate it.

I never tried doing this before but bought a digital recorder last week and tried it out in my home just to see if it works and this is what I got. I have been reading some post here and it seems that some think people hear what they want to hear. Now It makes me wonder is that what I am doing here.I dont want to be one of those people.
When I first heard these my mouth dropped and then I thought I would send them off to someone who has been doing this alot longer then I. They in return brought to my attion to a EVP I had not heard before of a little boy saying his name was Andy and he was 7 years old. what they sent back to me to hear it, well I heard nothing and started to have my daubts about them. But I went up to my bedroom and started a session and asked for the spitit by name and what I got is the first evp on the video, Andy. There are also some pix I took in my room last night before bed and maybe they are just dust I really dont know but I put them in the vid also keep in mind I took about twenty pix but they only showed up in the three I have shown.
Today i have tried many times to get something on the recorder and nothing and yes I even boosted many spots but nothing. In the video I found out how to clean them up so you can hear them better (by taking out some static) but if you think I have doc them up to much go to my profile on youtube and see the first vid I did its not cleaned up.
I have posted here to share what I have gotten and get others true thoughts about them. Also some confermation or not really helps.I am a Expat living in Amsterdam for a little over two years now. The house I bought was built in 1860 and is among the oldest houses in the city. I am also about 100 ft away from a church with a small graveyard that goes back to the 1600s.

Weird K-2 Spike Video

Hey guys me and one of my team mate recently went on a investigation to a cemetery in our area and while we was there we had some interesting k2 hits. Now to paint the picture of what was going on we are in this graveyard that is pretty huge and this part we are in the civil war section. Now i know this will be hard to see we did not have out night vision camera with us at this point, but there is nothing electric or anything that would give off any kind of emf. We also don't have our cell phones with us during the investigation. You will see the k-2 meter gets a spike then holds in this one spot and you will also see on the video we are moving the k-2 meter up, down, left, and right but the pike will only happen in one spot. So we looked around there is no power lines above us there is no lines under then ground. Anyway check out this video and we would love to hear your opinions on it.

I have an Olympus WS-600S digital recorder that I use to capture EVP whenever time permits. I just have a few questions to anyone that has it and has done EVP recording on it. What settings are best on this digital recorder for capturing voices from the other side :-). I really want to get into this full time but need to know the correct settings and all that stuff so I can get the best out of this recorder. I've read the entire booklet that came with it but can't make heads nor tails out of it on what I should have on and what I should have off. Thanks to anyone in advance that can give me some insight on my question here.

i used to live in this old house out in the country. my ex husband and his father and myself bought this old house cheap and tried to make it home. as time went on, strange things started happening like at night things used to watch me and stand over me, voices would call out and i would think it was my ex husband, my ex and i were really angry with each other and he became violent, a mist ran over the floor one night and it was in the middle of summer and i saw a face in the window one night.
when i used to get up to the toilet some nights i would get up to the toilet and would feel like something was trying to stop me getting through the door. i felt everytime i was alone in the house i was very terrified even during the day. it used to scare me to live in that house and i am glad i am out of there. after i left my husband sent me a photo and there was a lot of orbs in the photo or what looked like orbs. i believe now that this house was plagued by spirits and glad i no longer live there

Ouija For Ghost Hunters?

Ok this is kind of a question mixed in with some what of a rant i suppose. So i have asked this question before so multiple investigation teams, An the question being is it a bad idea for a ghost hunting team to use a Ouija board for a investigation. Now for the most part people have said that this is a very bad idea and that no ghost hunter or anyone really should use this item. They also tend to say that your inviting things in that you really don't want to deal with. So what i'm wondering is why is this that bad of a idea for a ghost hunting team? The part that really confuses me is how other ghost hunting teams will tell you to not use this yet they are doing practically the same thing.
When you break it down anyone that ghost hunts will walk about a "haunted place" with a voice recorder and ask if anyone is there or if anyone wants to communicate. Which is the same thing that you would do with a Ouija board but its just a newer piece of tech. This is just my opinion and all but i would love to hear other peoples take on this topic.

House Sitting A Ghost?

I've seen what would probably be called ghosts on several occasions. I've heard them or what you might their results as well. In our group we train our investigators to stop, get very still, listen, and assess the environment and their feelings. If nothing is threatening then begin asking questions and try to learn more about what you are experiencing. If a threat is felt or observed then we recommend that they walk, that's walk, out quickly but without panic while informing us about the situation on radio. Panic is when people get hurt. We then try to send in a fresh team to that location ASAP to experience and assess the situation with fresh eyes, ears, and feelings.

In my own situation when I was a young teenager, about 14 or so I had just turned out the light to go to sleep, perhaps 5 mins had passed, when I heard something breathing behind me. My thought at the time was that it was our Labrador Retriever. When I turned over I saw standing over me right next to the bed a shadow of a person. This apparition had no details only the dark shape of a human.

I was scared but I must explain that we were living in this house for a period of time while our house was being built. We were house-sitting through the winter until we could move in to our own new house. The house did have a history. The man that owned the house had lived with his wife there for years. He had a road side store, what general stores really became in the mountains of NC offering food, gas, some limited tools, perhaps a little farming merchandise, hunting licenses, and of course guns and ammo. Today this might be called a convenience store without the farm merchandise and guns and ammo of course. One day before we moved into his house an altercation between him and one of the locals, a regular customer of his, happened over some money the man owed him. The man shot and killed the merchant. I�ll leave out the details. My family had known this man for quite a while and it was a sad thing to the community. The man�s widow sold the house to a friend of ours and that next fall we moved in to house sit.

Back to my problem with the apparition I was seeing, my brother and I had told our parents that we heard things in the house, especially in the closets. The usual explanations were given to us, mice in the attic, the house settling and I am certain that some of this was true, however not that night. LOL As I looked at this dark mass I figured I had 3 options. First one, yell and cry out for help which would result in my parents running into the room to tell me I was dreaming or imagining things. Second option, I could get up and run though this apparition, which I deduced might not be to pleasant for me or for it and in fact might result in harm to me. Panic is when people get hurt. LOL The third option was to turn over and try to go to sleep. If it was this man who was killed he would not have hurt me as he knew my family and us kids. So I chose option three. I went to sleep to wake up the next morning just fine. However I didn�t really sleep in that room much after that. The bed in the LR, kind of an old style single bed with ropes that served for the frame with a mattress that served as our sofa, became my preferred spot for the rest of our house sitting.

This is one of the reasons my reasons that my brother, girlfriend and I do what we do. LOL

So I believe there to be a rather peaceful ghost on the premisis of my house... Sometimes there seems to be a "presence" near me and things will sometimes fall over or turn on in the middle of the night unexplained, as if to say "I'm here, don't forget about me." I have opened my mind with meditation and lit incense (appealing? yay or nay?) and practiced imagining the "white light" surrounding me in case angry spirits try to come near while I am in such a vulnerable state. Hi,
I'm Tony and I live in Western NC in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I grew up at a very famous arts and crafts school here and in fact is is considered, or at leas was, considered the largest and oldest crafts\arts school in the country. I mention this because my family had a great deal to do with its foundation and my family on both sides go back to the settling of the NC Mountains. As a result lots of very odd and unexplained things happened to me as I grew up and continue to happen. My brother, girlfriend, and I now run a paranormal society and we have been quite successful we feel in our efforts. I won't go into the details or post a link as I'm not sure of the rules at this point and I would never want to spam or advertise on a forum such as this. I would love to exchange information and if its ok would like to post some of our evidence for peer review. In fact I've contacted a professor that teaches in this part of the state. He is a paranormal investigator and researcher and his feeling is more peer review is needed in this field. I've worked at Duke University Med. Ctr. and know of the Rhine Center and toured it one. They are not officially a part of Duke anymore but they do maintain a loose connection with that as I understand it and their building is very close to the main west campus of the university. I'm sure I'll have more to post later and I hope to learn much from this forum and from all of you. Thanks.

This is not really a hauting. It's an experience i had a couple of nights ago. It seems to happen to a lot of people. I was just laying on my bed when i head a women voice say "Sebas" which is my name Sebastien. It seemed like a young women voice. It was really soft not menacing or anything. I got up when to get one of my cats to sleep with me. I was like well if there's a ghost my cat will see it.

I don't believe it to be a ghost actually. It could be immagination. I've read that it could mean someone will need my help soon. Even that someone really wants to speak to me and kind of send telepatic message. All kind of things. Searching the internet i see that many people have experienced the same thing and often is it even an women voice just like me.

First off my apologies for not being around these parts in what, the last year or so? Real life and other projects have gotten in the way of various things sadly. But things keep happening here at a fairly steady but irregular pace, so every so often I'll be reminded that I really should post on here more often.

This was the first time two pretty unexplainable things have happened in the same week for quite some time, any activity usually comes sporadically with isolated incidents scattered throughout the year at random times.

I suppose I'd better start with the less 'exciting' incident...roughly about 2am I was sat alone downstairs at the computer, all the lights in the house were off except for the two kitchen lights where I was sat which was unusual because usually the living room light was kept on. My mother had gone up to bed about half an hour before and so I heard her clunking about in the bathroom pretty much above my head, the usual sort of stuff and soon it faded out so I knew she had finished and gone to the bedroom. Back in silence I turned my attention back to the screen. In my peripheral vision I noted some slight movement off to my right in the living room, so I swivelled round in my seat and the door into the living room was standing open. I tried rationalising this thinking my sister had just gotten in after a night out, but I'd have heard her keys in the door and she'd have turned the living room light on when she opened the door. I watched the door for about 10 seconds wondering if my mother had forgotten something and come down to fetch it, but again she'd have turned the light on, and this is a hundred-plus year old house so as you can imagine the stairs are noisy. As I watched, the door closed itself, and the lack of footsteps disappearing upstairs ruled out a parental trip downstairs. It had me a bit flummoxed that's for sure.

Anyway, that was sort of the 'warm-up' to what happened last night. We have a tall fridge/freezer combo and on the top of it sits various nik naks including a heavy first aid kit. This kit had happily sat up there for months and months, I can't remember when it was last used. It must have been midnight-ish last night, I was sat at the computer again and suddenly an almighty crash disrupted my semi-asleep state. I swivelled round to find the first aid kit box had fallen the six-ish feet to the ground and landed right in the dogs bed (thankfully unoccupied!). Now, I may be reading too much into this but one of our two dogs is getting on in life a fair bit, and recently his health has started to deteriorate somewhat more. Maybe I'm taking it as a sign he'll need medical attention soon, maybe his time is almost up on this planet? I don't know, frankly I don't like to think about it as he's been in my life ever since I was ten and I love him to bits. I checked the top of the fridge afterwards, it was as smooth and unvibrationy as you could get.

The second incident reminded me instantly of the box of tissues which hurled itself off the top of the fridge and landed halfway across the kitchen a couple of years back....

Where to begin? Well I've always had a connection to what Carl Jung called the collective unconscious. I think we all do. Artists, especially visual artists, are barometers for the currents which run through this collective. Dreams are a common experience people may have with this. Anyway, my own experience is a sensitivity to place� physical, geographical place. There are memories, echoes of all the life within a place. Maybe it's what's called channeling. When I painted the Hands Resist Him in 1972, I used an old photo of myself at age five in a Chicago apartment. The hands are the 'other lives.' The glass door, that thin veil between waking and dreaming. The girl/doll is the imagined companion, or guide through this realm.
Both the owner of the Gallery where 'Hands' was displayed and the Los Angeles Times art critic who reviewed my show were dead within a year of the show.
I'm sure it was coincidence, but some of what I paint resonates in other people, opening the inner door, or basement. By the way, I still have no idea what happened to the character actor who bought the painting at the show (editor note: it was John Marley, who died in 1984), or how it ended up abandoned in a building, though I could speculate. - Bill

Haunted or not, it's still creepy!

Pressure And Cold

I have had an off and on experience that has been going on for a few months.

I have a habit of sleeping on my bad and some nights I will feel a pressure on my chest, but not just on my chest, on my heart.

At first I wrote it off as a need to get healthy but then I noticed that when I put something on my chest the pressure lessened. I thought that was strange. I experimented with what worked best and found that my hand blocked the pressure entirely. There was a brief moment before I started to feel a pull on my hand. I was curious as to what it might be so I let the pull take my hand and it was pulling my hand away from my heart. After my hand was off my chest the pressure returned. This went in a circle (covering and pulling and pressure) until I determined not to move my hand. My hand started to get cold but I refused to move it. The next day when I woke up my hand was still cold. I had my friends hold both my hands and all agreed that one hand was noticeably colder then the other.

This coldness persisted for about two weeks before finally fading.

The pressure comes and goes. Some nights it is there but other nights it isn't.

Other then the pressure I have no other issues. I don't know what this could be but I feel like it shouldn't be ignored... or should it?

and i am from sydney australia,
just few months back i had a birthday and my parents brought me a brand new Panasonic Luxmix digital camera
i had a few changes done in my home and i took some photos with my new camera of my kids tv room to post on my facebook for friends
when i first took the photos on the screen display i didnt notice anything at all in fact the photo looked perfect !! ...
but to my shock when i uploaded the photo to my computer and viewed it larger you can clearly see not one but TWO orbs in my photo
one is right on my fish tank and the other is on my kids wall unit ... now i dont know much about orbs and i decided to do a little research and i came across your website
... could someone please take a look at my photo and tell me if what i am seeing is in fact what i think it is or is it in my head ... i did take another photo of the same angle and spot few days after the first photo but the orbs are gone ... but when i took a photo of my own lounge room i noticed one orb on my lounge room floor ...
i dont know much about this kind of thing and i am hoping someone can help me make sense of what's going on in my home ...

Exercises To Increase Sensitivity?

When I was younger I was VERY sensitive. I could see and communicate with those who werent there, I was extremely empathetic (still am, but I have luckily learned to control it) and at times could almost read others' minds (though I would never consider myself a psychic. I was never that strong) and would constantly have extremely detailed dreams that would come true. I kept a dream journal for years and sure enough - things were happening! Anywho...

I stopped seeing spirits and my dreams were becoming less and less frequent for years. A few years ago the dreams started again and I started to sense things and almost pick up little hints here and there (I wouldnt see or hear anything, but I'd feel a young male presence, for example (this actually happened at a location I later found out from the owner was haunted by a little boy who lived there before it became a store front.)) and the feelings are becoming stronger now. As i've posted on here, there is a lot of activity in my home at the moment - our roommate is on an active streak!

So to stop rambling and get to my point:
I actually found this forum while searching the web for local groups so that I could both learn how to both safely and effectively/'correctly' investigate the paranormal (though all groups in my area say that they are 'full' ) as well as those that maybe knew of a way to increase my sensitivity again or even groups of others or individuals with similar sensitivities that could offer some guidance as far as what has proven effective for them.
Is that possible? I'm hoping that if it diminished with time (and I think part of it was me suppressing it so that I could be "normal") that it could be built back up. I'm not sure what changed within me, but I really regret trying to ignore what I had when I was younger and am ready to embrace it

Any feedback would be appreciated! I'd trust a forum response more than a random google search result!

My (Possibly Haunted) House

The first time I stepped foot in my boyfriend's house I remember having a weird feeling about it, but I tried to ignore it so my new guy wouldnt think I was weird. As I started to spend more time there I would hear noises in empty rooms or think I saw things out of the corner of my eye, but I convinced myself that it was just an old house or reflecting lights (though the only window that can be reached from a street by any angle is completely covered by wall-length curtains). I also noticed that the dog would occasionally bark at nothing or run to the corner of the bed or couch and sit and wag her tail and nuzzle her head as if she were being pet. Again - weird, but ive seen stranger neurosis in some of my own dogs before.

We have a sun porch, driveway then yard to one side and an uninhabited house (the owner has been 'about to finish tearing it down' for over 2 years) on the other on a VERY quiet street, so outside noises are more or less non-existent.

Well now I've been living at that house with him for a little over a year. Let me start with everything up to a few weeks ago:

Things in our house move. I mean to the extent that one time stuff that was in a box in the back of our side sunporch ended up in the middle of the spare room floor in a neat pile while we were both out (and were, coincidentally, with the only holder of a spare key) and that box was moved out of the pile. (That = a box moved, some of the stuff in it was moved across the porch, through the sliding glass door, into the house and through the living room and hall into the spare room) Occasionally things fall off of a shelf or dresser or end up in the wrong room. (Falling I normally dismiss unless I see it or can 100% guarantee it was not close to the edge of the surface it was on. Things that I put down on my night-table but end up in the kitchen are beyond me.)

Occasionally I'd catch a quick glimpse of what I can only describe as a grayish thing 'walk' out of the bathroom towards the living room and vanish or into the spare room and vanish - but I usually disregard that to just seeing things out of the 'corner of my eye' ( though its been straight on a few times). I convinced my boyfriend to go with me on the Asbury Park Ghost Tour and that night (after a few drinks) he finally admitted to me that he sees 'something' in our house - in the bathroom - now and then and hears stuff sometimes, but when I pushed for details he wouldnt talk about it.

Lastly, the light on my boyfriend's night table turns on and off on its own occasionally. According to him it only started when he moved into this home, so it must be the wiring. I've since plugged it into the other outlet on the other wall - the same outlet my lamp is plugged into - and its still only his lamp. Might be the wiring in the lamp itself, though.

I continued to hear things - doorknobs turning, doors closing, rustling, knocking, etc. on a pretty regular basis.

... Fast Forward to about two months ago -

I was home alone and heard laughing from the other room. I immediately muted my TV and waited. I heard it again - a male laugh from the other room. I walked in and the light was on (I had not been in that room and never turned it on myself) and the dog was playing with one of her stuffed chew toys in the middle of the room. As soon as I walked in the laughing stopped and she stopped playing and stared at the opposite corner of the room.

I've heard the dog's name called from the other room and I've heard what sounds like coughing. Occasionally I hear a muffled voice, but as I would walk towards it it would stop and I never made out anything it was saying.

About two weeks ago I was sitting in the living room watching TV and I heard the storm door open and hit someone's back as if they were standing at the door. The doorknob then started to turn (I heard and saw it) as if someone was struggling with the door. I assumed my boyfriend was home early and had his hands full or was struggling with the key and called out "need help babe?" teasingly, but heard no response other than the doorknob stopping for a moment. As I got closer to the door I had the weirdest most tense feeling in the pits of my stomach. After a few more seconds the doorknob stopped so (being the idiot I am) I swung the door open immediately to see who was on my porch - no one was there or near my house. If anyone were on the porch they could not have run fast enough to be out of sight by the time i opened the door, and the porch doors would still have been swinging. I tried to ignore it, but it definitely scared me. The weirdest thing was that the dog was acting excited, as if she knew who were at the door - not how she'd normally act if she were unaware of who it were.

I've heard the same male voice from the spare room more and more over the past two or three weeks as well. One evening I heard humming and quiet singing from the other room. Lights turn on and off at their own will, the TV in our room turns on randomly as does the radio in the spare room. A pile of laundry fell over onto the floor (not so weird, gravity happens) but somehow re-stacked on the bed before my lazy butt got to it (BF was at work). I finally had the satisfaction of another witness when my BF and I woke up thismorning and all the stuff that was on our dresser was on the floor as if someone had dragged their hand across the dresser knocking everything off the end.

Then there are my dreams - I dont know if its everything going on in the house playing on my subconscious or if its something more but - I keep having a dream (almost nightly) that I'm in the house, but all the furnishings are different. The floors and walls are different, as are all the light fixtures. The only person I see/interact with in the dream is an older lady and when I look down I see slacks and loafers. I have also had 2 different dreams where I'm speaking to an older man who tells me that he likes our dog (uses her name) and that 'we seem nice' and that we 'remind him of him and his wife'

I want to find out the history of the house, but it doenst seem like anything major has happened here. I've never felt afraid here, but I definitely don't always feel alone. Either I'm hearing/seeing things (or have REALLY good hearing and its outside noise) or, I think, a past resident hasnt moved out yet.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium

Construction of Waverly Hills Tuberculosis Sanatorium began in March 1924. It officially opened it's doors on October 1, 1926, replacing the former TB Hospital that stood not too far from the current building. The old hospital only accommodated 40-50 patients, and it wasn't long before it was extremely overcrowded. Waverly Hills was built with 506 rooms - MUCH bigger than the original hospital.

Waverly Hills was a self-contained community. A city in and of itself, complete with it's own zip code. Because tuberculosis was so extremely contagious and at epidemic proportions, those living with it could not be allowed to live and exist among the general population. Waverly Hills had it's own post office, water treatment facility, grew it's own fruits and vegetables, raised it's own meat for slaughter and maintained many of the other necessities of everyday life. Everyone at Waverly - patients, nurses, doctors and other employees had to say 'goodbye' to everything they knew on the outside world. Once you went to Waverly Hills, you became a permanent resident "on the hill." Oddly enough, despite that fact, many patients received visits from loved ones on visiting day. When the visit was over, the visitors left Waverly and ventured back out into the community. It was not known at the time that tuberculosis was an airborne disease.

Many of the treatments used in attempts to win the battle over tuberculosis were experimental. These experimental treatments were often brutal, causing extreme pain to the patient both during and after the procedure. Many of those same treatments left the patient with horrific scars and often times, disfigurement. Sadly, many patients undergoing these same treatments did not survive their battle with tuberculosis.

Because so many people died at Waverly Hills, it has a reputation for being haunted. It's even been named one of the top haunted places in the country. It's not at all uncommon for people to see shadow people, orbs, strange lights, or to hear unexplainable noises.

One of the most well known ghost stories about Waverly Hills centers around Room 502. Legend has it a crazy patient murdered a nurse in this room by stabbing her to death. People claim to see the patient's ghost running out the hospital's front door in a white nightgown, screaming at the top of her lungs. While there is no record of a nurse being stabbed in this room, there are records of a nurse hanging herself. She got pregnant by one of the doctors, and since being an unwed mother was taboo at the time, she decided to take her life in Room 502. Many people have experienced strange things in that room, and most believe it is her ghost that haunts it.

The Death Tunnel is another popular haunted area. One of the uses for this tunnel was transporting dead bodies out of the hospital. Since seeing hearses arrive and take away many bodies on a daily basis would bring down other patients' morale, the hospital staff thought it was best to transport the bodies away in an underground tunnel that the patients couldn't see. Some people believe that many of the deceased patients who left the hospital via this tunnel still haunt it.

Renovation Fun

We're renovating our house, an old Queen Anne. I knew it was haunted before we bought it. I'm often attracted to haunted places, and this house was pulling me like a magnet. It wasn't for sale the first time I drove passed it but I kept telling my hubby I wanted the house. When we started looking to buy, the house went on the market about a month into our search. I jumped on it and here we are. We've been living in and working on it for four years.

We've had quite a lot of experiences while living here and I'm often curious just how many spirits stop by to visit because when we're really plugging along, crazy stuff happens: Missing items, shadows, hearing footsteps walking up and down the hall, voices, cigar smoke in the room I was working in...yuck! watching doorknobs turn and doors open when nobody is there, whistling in the basement, loud noises you can't find a reason for, knowing someone else is in the room with you and so on.

My favortie encounter happened last fall. I couldn't sleep and was sitting in bed with my laptop on my lap, reading. I kept seeing a shadow moving in the hallway but didn't see anyone out there. Then I saw movement in the doorway and looked up to see the outline of a man's upper body and arm, leaning into the room. I jumped but the funny thing was he jumped too and pulled back out of the doorway. Just then I heard an ungodly yell that actually freaked me out more than the man. I jumped out of bed, ran to the doorway and found our cat all tensed up and staring at the area where the man had been. I searched the other rooms but didn't find anyone

The Monkees were created initially to be a sort of "safe" Beatles by record and TV producers in 1965, but ended up making hit singles, a cult TV series, and a film, 1968's Head, which would prove to be one of the first salvos of the psychedelic era. First, I'll tell you about me. I'm a girl, I'm 16 and I live in Maryland. My house was built in 1977. I've always believed and had a strong interest in ghosts, since I was real little. I first had experiences with ghosts at the age of 6. I saw my Grandpa's ghost a few times at my Grandma's house (it's vivid, but I can still picture what it looked like in my head). I know a lot about ghosts, from watching different TV shows (huge Ghost Adventures fan) and from doing my own research. I don't have any equipment for ghost hunting, (no EVP recorders or EMF detectors, etc.) except for cheap apps on my Android...

One important thing: I'm NOT scared of the ghosts. Hundreds of time, I've had the lights off at night and talked to it, by myself. They don't scare me, so I do not mind it being there. I'm not necessarily asking this question for 'help' I just want to know what you all think, and I'm interested to hear what you have to say, and your suggestions on what I should do (i.e. Get rid of it, Talk to it, etc.) So, now that all that is out of the way, I'll tell you about my stories from my room. These occurrences started happening about 2 years ago, so these stories are from 2 years ago to now.

I'll begin with minor occurrences like the constant feeling of being watched. I also frequently get that feeling that someone walked in the room. I'll get tensed up, and it really feels like a presence has entered. Sometimes the tension is so strong, I assume its my little brother coming to scare me, and I'll turn around real quick and yell "BOO!" hoping to scare him before he scares me, and it turns out nobodys in my room, in the hall or even upstairs with me. & When I walk downstairs I no longer have that tension from being watched or feeling a presence. Ive felt drafts of cool breeze a few times out of no where. A lot of times I'll feel a light touch or my hair being played with, while watching TV or doing homework.

Now onto the bigger stuff. My friend was sleeping over and we were going to get up early the next morning so it was pretty late (maybe around 12am) and we were in my room with the lights off, door shut, laying on the floor trying to go to sleep. Well, just as I was about to fall asleep I heard ''diiiing doong'' in a little girls voice come from the corner of my room which was a few feet from my head. So of course I looked up straight to that corner & thought it might have just been a dream until I noticed my friend looking at the same spot. It turns out she heard it too.

Then, the next day my friend asked what I hit my forehead on, there was a bruise and a scratch that wasn't there yesterday. I was trying to think of where it could have come from, and suddenly I remembered. Last night (which was the same night of the ding dong incident) after I had fallen asleep, I remember sitting up, then falling forward and hitting my forehead really hard on the corner of a dresser-drawer that was pulled open a little. But I don�t remember lightly falling forward, I remember my head being practically slammed into it, I know there was force involved. I don't know how I would have done it on my own, nothing like that has ever happened; when I sleep I�m knocked out. I usually don�t wake up/sit up or anything. So, after I remembered hitting my head, I went upstairs and tried to re-enact what happened to see how I could have done it on my own (our pillows & blankets were left in the same spot) and when I laid down, and sat up, I leaned forward and the drawer was off to the left and wasn't close enough for my head it hit it even when I tried leaning to the left. It was next to my ankles. If you ask me, someone had to have forced my head over to the left for me to have hit it and there had to have been force for me to have hit it as hard as i did (there was a nice size bruise and scratch). It really freaked me out, because when I hit it I remember bouncing back onto my pillow and I fell right back to sleep... I could have died if I hit it hard enough, right?

But, that was about a year ago, and it was really the most violent thing to happen. I've never been harmed other than that, besides the other day, I went up to my room to get something and when I came back downstairs, my arm was burning. I had 2 fresh, parallel scratches on my arm. I didn't remember hitting anything, but I just shrugged it off. Then they next day, my sister was showing me 2 scratches on her arm and was telling me how she dint know where they came from, and they looked exactly like mine. She had been in my room too that day.

Another time my sister and I were downstairs (home alone) and we heard a loud bang in my room. So we went upstairs to see what it was and it turns out my full size mirror, which was hooked to the wall, was on the floor broken. The way it landed struck me as odd, here is a picture I drew real quick on paint to show you where my mirror is, and where it was when it was broken (its easier than explaining it):

So it was a bit odd. It was hanging on the wall next to my closet, then it fell, horizontal to my closet, face down, cracked everywhere. Now, since that incident I've had 3 mirrors broken, no matter how many nails I use to hook it to the wall. I've also had other stuff knocked over randomly. A fan that has been sitting on a small table for weeks was randomly knocked off (it was never turned on, since its winter) and quite a few times my shelf has been knocked down.

Another experience: my sister and her boyfriend were in her room which is right across from mine and they heard a noise in my room so my sister went in and turned the light on but it was nothing. As she was walking out she heard a man say ''hello! '' and her boyfriend also heard it.

Another story... me and my sister know about ghosts showing up on thermal cameras. Well, my video camera on my ipod had a thermal camera setting, so we were going to use that and record in my room to see if we could catch anything, just for fun. But we never did. Then, maybe about 15 minutes later my family and I went to the mall for a few hours when we got back I went to my room to see my lamp knocked over and my dresser drawer pulled completely out of my dresser and onto the floor. No one had been in the house. Maybe I angered it by using the thermal camera..?

The Video: The other day I recorded my brother with my phone, he was trying to do some challenge. But, I caught something. It looks like an orb that we normally catch in photos, except this time its on video. The quality is not that great, I recorded this off my cellphone but then the file was too big to mail. So I had to use my ipod, and record it off my phone. There is a white orb that shoots across the screen, it's in the bottom left, its a lot brighter and obvious on my phone... LOOK CLOSELY! (bottom left)

Been Haunted For 55 Years Now

I'll turn 60 in March of this year 2012. I�m going to start near the beginning at the age of 6. This is the time the paranormal stuff started and to this day its still going on so yeah I�m a little weird as time goes on and you read more you may be surprised that I�m sane at all. One at school I wanted to ask the teacher a question but she was helping someone else and had her back to me. I had my notebook and 2 other books I was holding in one hand and someone yanked them from my hand I turned around a little mad but no one was close enough to have done it and yes I know when you carry 3 books that are not centered one can fall to the front and one back but this was not the case.
There was a kind old lady that lived across the street and I would go and see her, and she always had milk and cookies and little games made out of wood and wire they were like puzzles she was very cool. Well she died and I always felt like it was her letting me know she was still around.
I started on the wild side at a very early age of 5. I went to Easterbrook School and in kindergarten we had to stay outside in a fenced in area till the bell rang. Well the teacher would look out the window and make sure everyone came inside but I would hug the wall right under the window in till she started class then I would hop the fence go home about 2 � miles and have a beer and a smoke camel non-filtered. This is also where I met my best friend Bill Fitzharris (Fitz) we were the best of friends for 47 years maybe longer. He passed away in 1999 and I say maybe longer but that part of the story will come later.

I remember I started seeing shadows like someone following me all the time and things in my room would be moved and hear my name called or words I couldn�t make out. Well yeah my brother and I shared the same room and my mother was always in there doing something. But I would put things in an order or line things up with the cracks in the wood floor like under my bed where I know no one is going to touch it by morning and most of the time things are moved or just gone. Well back then when I was 7, 8, 9 I really didn�t think ghost I just didn�t understand it.
This went on for years it became a normal thing to have things missing and shadows voices. Then I started knowing things that I could not have known like ESP type of stuff. I thought that was normal too everyone does it right? No
I told my mother that I remember being on a train in a bad storm in Texas. The train had hard wood seats and square windows and was stopped because of water over the tracks.
Well she freaked out a little about that and told me you must have heard me say that at some time because I was pregnant with you, you were not born yet. Hmmm

The main reason I want to do this is because my time is short. May 7th of 2007 I died for the second time in my life ooh what fun that was.

The first time I died I was a baby and my mother found me blue and dead For a few weeks when I was able to go into town it was like looking out a window everywhere I went. I was inside looking out even when I was outside I felt like a ghost.

Initial Burn Brae I/r Captures

This are just the first few captures that we have discovered while reviewing the extensive Burn Brae I/R DVR recordings. I am not saying that these are paranormal, I am however saying that these are unexplainable. I am not a believer in Orbs, however these are way to bright and move too erratically to be the proverbial dust orb, they also cannot be insects because this place is being kept in impeccable condition and insects do not occur in NY state in February, especially indoors.

This is a very strange capture that acts way to fast and erratically to be dust and bugs.

This one is probably the oddest one of all (so far). There seems to be a storm of something falling erratically while we were downstairs eating. I would have dismissed it as something falling. However, there was no insulation, dust, wood chips or water falling, nor present on the floor. Furthermore, you can see erratic balls of light emerging out of nowhere then disappearing in the background and to the left.

I was woken up at 4 am this morning to what I thought was my husband getting in the bed.I rolled over to put a hand on him.I quickly opened my eyes when I felt nothing.
Freaked me out! Now I have been up since 4 am.as soon as I got up I asked him if he came in the room.He said "no, but I'm going to bed now"....
You know that feeling when your spouse gets in the bed right? Like the bed shakes a good bit.

Would You Hire A Virtual Assistant?

Ok, though I'm quite enjoying the new job and being treated a billion times better (they just hired a new Sales Manager. I'm her assistant. Frankly, I just love her. She's young and very cool so we're having alot of fun in the office in spite of being worked to the bone trying to straighten up the mess), I honestly still feel like I want out.

By that I mean that I want to work for myself. I'm tired of always living by someone elses rules, and not being able to say "no" to something. I'm tired of getting up at 6 am every day, even if I'm getting the Monday-Friday 9-5 schedule I want. I'm tired of rush hour traffic.

I went to College to become a trained Medical and Legal Assistant (complete with everything that encompasses including billing, transcription, terminology, etc) but have never actually used it. I also have ten years in my industry and I know where help is needed and where it isn't.

There's something out there called a Virtual Assistant. This is a job that works from home with things like transcription, data entry, database management, desktop publishing, bookkeeping, etc. Sounds like an Administrative Assistant, doesn't it? Well thats exactly what it is, but from a distance.

Here's the difference.. with a real AA, employers pay alot more than just the wage for that employee. They pay sick time, health care, vacation time, and for time when the AA is doing nothing but reading a book during company hours because they have nothing to do but still need to get their full 40 hrs a week. A VA is different. With a VA, you pay for only the work done even though its a highly hourly wage. For example, with an AA, lets say you pay $15 hour but then there's everything else on top of that, effectively bringing their wage to $30,000 a year just for their wage. But hiring a VA, you pay $35 an hour but only use them may four hours a month. Think how much money a small business could save doing it that way.

The VA, of course, would have many different clients that she or he works for. In my area, a VA typically makes $39,000 a year which is more money than I have ever see in any job. Plus the VA only has to work with the people she/he wants to work with, and sets their own hours.

It would be a home based business, of course. But its minimal cost to set up considering I have almost everything I'd need already with a few exceptions. Please know, I'm not fooling myself. This will be alot of work to get started, but it could lead to something so much greater. Like that I wouldn't have to deal with the public unless I choose to. No more retail, no more customers, no more guests, no more answering the phone to stupid people asking dumb questions every five minutes unless I choose to do so.

I was wondering... if you are a small business owner, is this something that you would be interested in? I'm not asking because I want to be hired by someone on here, I'm asking because I've been here many years, and I value your opinions on whether this would be a viable idea or not.

there is no chimney, fan or anything. lens is brand new without any problems.

Looking For A Certain Ghost Picture

Of all the photos I have seen here this one sticks in my head and I can't find it again. Maybe someone else will remember it.

It was a color photo of some people hanging out outside at night I think. Maybe it was a cookout. There was a woman sitting in a folding chair possibly with a beer. Anyway in the back of the picture behind everybody else was this weird looking guy. He looked so real but the people swore there was no one there when they took the picture. I think you could kind of see through him and his proportions didn't seem quite right. The creepiest thing was that his head was cocked to the left in an unnatural position. I have looked through the galleries but don't know what the title of the photo could have been. Does anyone else remember this picture? Thanks!

Experiment Suggestions Fast, Please

Hi guys

Well, our group has finally gotten the chance,to investigate at a mental hospital. Here in Denmark we dont leave buildings empty, so when a mental hospital - or any other facility - closes down, the buildings will be used for something else, almost right away. That means we really never gets the chance to investigate empty buildings, such as former mental hospitals.

Now we have the chance to investigate though. On a huge area where there are still a functional mental hospital, we are going to investigate the museum, that once were a mental ward, and furthermore a small chapel in the woods, used to bury the patients.

I would like to ask if any of you have any suggestions, to some experiments we could do, during the investigation. We have some ideas, but maybe some of you have been investigating mental hospitals before, and therefor have some ideas to experiments and ways to communicate with that kind of spirits, besides the "normal" techniques used on investigations.

I would like your input on EVP�s.

I have been into ghost hunts/paranormal research for around 13-14 years now, and one thing our group never gets, are EVP�s. I dont understand why....
We do it basically the same way as everybody else, (TAPS, Ghost Adventures), but just never seem to get any answers nor voices. I know of another group here in Denmark, and they claim to get EVP on every single investigation.

So I am beginning to wonder how common EVP�s are? How often can you expect EVP�s? I mean, is it normal to get EVP�s on every investigation? Or is it half and half, og maybe very rare?

Personally I use an Olympus VN960C, and Audacity....

Colorado State Home for Mental Defectives;commonly know as Ridge Home today started construction in 1909 primarily to house the mentally disabled but in the early 1900's conditions were to warehouse what they called undesirables such as the mentally disabled,the insane and kids who's parents just didn't want them;these children would later become socially mentally disabled.
The first building was completed in 1910,the fourth and last building of the original campus was finished by 1936.By the 50's and 60's an administrative building,hospital and living area was build then by the 70's more offices and living areas were constructed.Ridge Home took on it's first patient in July of 1912,Gertrude Haast 7 years old and by 1939 it housed 260 patients out of a capacity of 300.
The amount of patients there only grew it rarely fluctuated as patients were committed for life unless transferred to the home of a relative or to the Pueblo Insane Asylum,those who were left there death was the only means of departure.
The facility was operated by Dr. A.P. Busey superintendent who also operated The Pueblo Insane Asylum.At the Pueblo Insane Asylum charges were made against management stating that the institution is filthy ans infested with vermin also the charge was made that many of the patients were over worked,in one particular case work brought on premature death.Aside from the charges Dr. A.P. Busey went to become superintendent at Ridge Home.
Despite the the original building closed in the late 60's and early 70's so they can develop better and more humane ways of working with the disabled problems still managed to surface.By 1985 Ridge Home was severely under staffed the Federal Department of Justice issued a report accusing Ridge Home of violating the civil rights of it's residence such as a patient was found with a femur protruding through the skin another with a left arm swollen,loose and floppy at the shoulder the government also alleged that patients were over medicated and many others had unexplained injuries.You'll find many stories of former employees claiming nothing ever happened there but even the report stated that staff couldn't explain how a patient got third degree burns and why would the feds threaten to cut off funding if conditions didn't improve.
It wasn't only the patients dealing with issues there,in Sept. of 1991 a disgruntled security guard Michael George King set fire to one of the closed buildings,there were other fires set just prior so Michael King was under suspicion for those incidences as well,funny enough he worked for Burns International Security Services.
In 1994 an argument broke out in the northeast parking lot between Wilbur Swift;psychiatric technician and Michael Fluellen a 22 yr old who was having an affair with Joanne;Swift's wife.Wilbur Swift ended up shooting Michael in the face who later died.
Was there abuse at Ridge Home? More than likely there was but whether or not it was intentional still needs to be answered.We know that in the early 1900's doctors didn't have a clear understanding of the Insane and disabled so there were unheard of practices performed on patients that we would consider abusive today so there is a fine line between abuse and medical practices that makes it hard to determine the truth unless more employees and patients speak out.
Ridge Home has been leveled to merely a field and shopping center today but it is still generating stories of the paranormal.Before the building were demolished people have reported lights turning on,shadows,voices and moving objects but now that the building is gone there are only reports of shadows and voices.I am curious as to whether or not the new owners of the shops have had any experiences themselves.

About a year ago I was staying at a Hotel in Wheat Ridge,CO that isn't known for any paranormal activity but has been around for a long time. It is however well known for drugs and crime but only 2 reports that I have found surrounding any deaths.The first is a baby that died from abuse and the second hasn't been solved yet but there was a woman that wound up missing after staying there;they found blood in the room and no woman.
I only experienced somthing strange once while staying there;due to hardship I was there for about 6 months before getting on my feet so I had plenty of time for experiences. One evening I was sitting on the bed facing the t.v.,it had an antenna drapped over it that belonged to the cable box;suddenly it started swinging back and forth.I watched it do this for what seemed like 10 seconds when it just stopped it didn't slow down to a stop either,so I got up and checked the door to the balcony;it wasn't open so I tried picking up the antenna and dropping it to see if I could get it to swing the same way...nothing..it would just hit the side of the t.v. and not swing so I blew on it as hard as I could and it wouldn't budge. I'm assuming this is something paranormal I just wish there were more reports so I'm not alone on this one.

I started watching DA last season, second to last episode at a friends house. I had to go back and download all the previous episodes that night and the spent the betr part of the nexttwo days watching them and rewatching them. I'm not a period piece fan and usually stay the heck away from Edwardian dramas but this one....I was so taken with. Anybody else want to talk about it?

My favorite character is, for sure, Mr. Bates. I love story line, of all the help in the house his has me held captive. And, I also love Sybil, of course because she is the epitome of the modern woman.

I have kind of a weird question for other members of the forum. I've posted a few times about this situation and got some great feedback (you guys are so knowledgeable!)

Quick background: I've had this entity thingy attached to me for about 7 years now (I don't believe in ghosts per se, but I don't know how else to describe it). No idea what it is, what it wants, or why it still hangs around me. It started when I rented a cheap studio apartment and immediately began experiencing weird events in the home. I soon discovered the previous tenant had died a violent suicide death, and had possibly been into some "dark" activities before he died. Long story short, I did some pretty dumb things to try and help the situation, and actually made it worse and ended up moving out due to a not-so-nice "thing" that began manifesting itself shortly after. Unfortunately it followed me.

It usually appears as a rotten smell, a feeling of dread or doom, and occasionally a whispery voice. On rare occasions it can actually appear. It's a gray, static-looking thing shaped vaguely like a person, but its voice and movements are inhuman. Other people have also experienced it, and my best friend even saw it once while I was sleeping at her house shortly after leaving the apartment. More upsetting was when my husband (boyfriend at the time) saw it years later standing over me while I was sleeping - he described it perfectly and I hadn't told him anything about it! People say it feels nasty and threatening, but I'm so over it at this point. I've tried many things to get rid of it, but everything just seems to feed it and make it stronger - so now I generally ignore it and chalk it up to the many little quirks of life. It's just like having an imaginary friend who happens to be old and creepy.

Until now. I've been through a lot of major life changes lately, and I've been creating drawings and paintings to represent milestone figures and events in my life. I've been thinking for awhile about doing a self portrait of me sitting beside this entity, since it's been with me for a long time now and has affected my life in many ways. I almost feel like it's "mine" in some weird way. It certainly has never harmed me, although I don't think it's a happy spirit. I've only told two people about this idea - my friend, and my father - and they both strongly disapproved. They both said I should not do anything that would give this thing attention, strengthen its form, or bring it further into reality. My feeling is that artists should be fearless, and bring light into their darker places. They feel that I am doing the opposite - bringing darkness into light places.

So what do you guys think? Is there a chance that painting this thing could have unforeseen consequences? Any precautions I should take? I know it's kind of a weird question!

Hey all,

I need the help of smart people, especialy good at a little detective work.

A while back, i read a book (scary, i know). and it was an amaizing book. Unfortunatly this was a while back, and i do not remeber its name, or its authors. This is a problem because my father loaned the book out and we dont know where it is now. Its driving me bonkers to know its name.

So, i am asking your help to find it. maybe someone here has read it, or is just realy good at researching.

A basic breakdown. the book is about a rich man who pretends to be the antichrist to dupe the underworld out of limitless money. A male and female cop are put on the case to capture the guy, and it leads all the way to the middle east whith underground temples and everything.

The "antichrist" has been using his already vast fortune to make up prohecies to fit in with his life, or to ahve done to him what the prophecies already say. he has a servent/minion who is also his friend and is helping him along. there is an assasin, an interegator, and all sorts of good things. the ending is almost unbeleavable.

Beyond that, all i can say is the book had two authors i believe, and it was their first book writen. it was printed after 2006 but before 2010. beyond that, i cant remeber much

it was NOT part of the left behind seriese.

Hope someone can help me, this is driving me bonkers ......

My daughter was in a ballet at a old tivoli theater recently and my best friend came along to take pictures. She took many or my daughter and I, and the next day I was freaked out as we looked through them. I noticed some strange light covering half a picture of me, I thought it was just a fluke and we kept going. But then we found 3 more pictures with the same light. It only appeared in pictures of me, pictures of others came out just fine. Is this a camera error or is something else going on? I've included two normal pictures to show the camera did take pictures without the light (it took over 30 without any strange light), then the 4 of me that came out with the weird round lights. Is it a camera error or something else?

Strange Lights In The Smoky Mountains

It was mid July, a friend and I decided to hike twenty mile trail in the Smoky Mountains. It was forecast to rain that weekend and the trail is pretty remote, so we were happy to enjoy a weekend of complete solitude in the mountains.

The first night we hiked a few miles in and decided to set up camp a good ways off from the established trail, in a small clearing alongside a large creek bed. We stayed up late into the night, finally settling in for bed around 1am. We had hung a 2 person hammock between two trees and had a thick hammock cover over us (it's fitted to feel just like being inside a tent) to protect from bugs or rain. We got snuggled in and turned off our headlamps to get some sleep. We laid inside there talking for a couple minutes in complete pitch darkness, when suddenly a bright light lit up the area around our feet just outside our tent. I was immediately shocked and scared and I shut my eyes hard and held my breath (I know, a weird reaction but I've never been in that situation and I was really scared and didn't know how to react). At that moment all I could think was, we are in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night, and there is someone outside our tent with a flashlight on us.. and I figured it was probably bad news. But nothing happened, my friend didn't react or say anything, so I opened my eyes and let out my breath. I immediately looked down again and this time there were two balls of light INSIDE our hammock cover. One was smaller than the other but they were both small and extremely bright white. I looked at my friend in disbelief and his eyes were glued to balls of light. All of this happened within a matter of seconds and just as fast as they flashed on, that flashed off and it was dark again. As soon as they flashed off we both went into what the heck? mode and nearly killed each other trying to get out of the hammock and cover. He grabbed his flashlight and a knife and walked around yelling if anyone was there. I didn't really care to know what it was, I was terrified by whatever it was that I'd seen and sat with a flashlight next to the fire wrapped in a sleeping bag.

We contemplated leaving immediately, but it was close to 2am by this point and we had miles to go to get back to the car. Whatever is was, I didn't want to run into it again. So we abandoned our hammock, grabbed two sleeping bags, turned our lights off and crawled in the dark to what we felt was a safe distance from where we'd set camp. We didn't want to risk it coming back again. Neither of us slept much that night, nor did we talk much. We were both pretty scared out of our wits. The next day it was a relief when the sun came up. We slept in longer than usual and had a wonderful morning once we got up. I felt at peace again and we agreed to finish the backpacking trip and talk more about what happened once we got back home.

That day we continued our hike another 7 miles up a steep mountainside to a beautiful place called Gregory Bald. It was an extremely rugged exhausting hike and we arrived just before dark, again we were alone. We set up a tent on the ground this time, and since were we on a bald, there were no trees around I felt much better being able to see around me. We planned to wake at sunrise, a view you can't miss atop a bald! So we went to bed early without incident. I fell into a deep sleep, dreaming I was a part of an American Indian tribe. They wanted to play me a song using all different kinds of small drums, they began singing when I suddenly hear a loud "BOOM" (what sounded like a drum hit really hard, with a deep bass). My eye popped open and my heart was racing. I looked over and my friends eyes were wide open too. I said, did you hear that? He replied "I don't know what I just heard, but it was loud and jolted me awake". The drum was in my dream, so how could he have heard it to?! He couldn't remember his dream, but he said a loud boom had woken him up at nearly the exact same time as me. We were over 10 miles away from anything, in the middle of the forest, there was no one around, and definitely no large drums to be seen. We then noticed the sun was just beginning to rise, we had been woken up just in time. Again, we decided to talk more about it after we got home, and we set off to lay a blanket out and watch the sun come up.

Once we got home, we didn't get any further in figuring out what we'd seen and heard while in the mountains. I don't know if I would have believed what happened to us if I wouldn't have been there myself, had him there to confirm it. I honestly would have just called myself crazy or hallucinating. There have been a couple other really peculiar and strange things that had happened before this independent (and after), but I had always figured there was a scientific explanation for it. Now I'm starting to believe there is more out there than the eye can see.

Strange Occurence

I been having these very strange feels I guess you can call them on and off for awhile. It started on day I was laying down for a nap when I could swear I felt like something jumped up on my bed like a cat would do and work its way up beside me. There was nothing there. Things would happen always while I was in a dozed state between being fully awake and asleep. I am aware of sounds and such around me. It felt like I was awake but wasn't. I felt like something or someone was running their hands over me. Not like a real touch someone would give you. It's hard to explain but if you ever took two magnets and put the same poles together like both positive or both negative poles and you feel them repell against each other not touching but have that force pushing it away. It felt like that....something there but not and feeling like a magnetic forces of some kind. I am not sure this is a ghost but at times I could swear I felt hands placed inside mine like holding them. At times when laying on my side I swear someone layed down next to me and had that creepy feeling when someone breaths gently on the back of your neck and you get shivers running down your spine. One time it scared me while I was on my side I felt that something ....not too heavy...weight of a cat....jumped up on the bed then ran quickly along my side. I felt like teeth rap around one arm....not hard...just very lightly for I could feel each pointy little teeth. I woke up out of my dozziness right away. It seems to only come when I am in a certain state of sleep. Knowing whats around me with sounds and such but not quite awake. It is very strange and not sure if anyone ever felt such a thing or even heard of such a thing? I am not new to seeing ghosts for there are many in the small town I grew up in. At one time the entire town witnessed this young girl in a long night gown, long blonde hair and barefoot running around the town late at night. During those days everyone knew everyone else and if someone was visiting everyone would know about it. No one knew this girl and she would always disapear around a corner or a shack where there is no hiding places and not be seen again. I once again saw a young boy when I was just a child all dressed up nicely at the foot of my bed before. Even when I was a baby staying with my mother and sister at my aunts house a ghost of a young girl who died from fever was seen near by. Perhaps ghosts follow me around. I am not sure but seem to be getting more active lately. I would welcome comments. Thank you.

Romance is in the air can you feel it? Valentines day sparks nostalgic visions of flowers, chocolate hearts and love. A Segue holiday from the ending winter to forth-coming Spring. Valentines Day also, marks one of the bloodiest days in the history of Chicago Gang land violence. The St. Valentines Day massacre occurred February 14th, 1929 in the S-M-C Cartage Co, located at 2122 North Clark Street (Chicago)

� � Prohibition was conceived in good will. The idea was to improve society from the ill will effects of alcoholism. Prohibition in the United States focused on the manufacture and sale of alcohol. The act of drinking liquor itself was never made illegal. Evangelical protestant churches, the Women's Christian Temperance Union and Anti Saloon League pushed for regulation and control of alcohol. They believed outlawing liquor would protect families, women and children from the unwanted effects of serious alcohol abuse. Americas very existence in one sense was founded by liquor. It was far safer to drink alcohol, than the natural water sources available. Early Americans drank alcohol from the time they awoke, to the time they went to bed. Over time safe water sources became abundant, but alcoholism had already become an epidemic disease.

� � Prohibition opened the doorway to modern American Organized Crime syndicates. Illegal alcohol could be found in speakeasy's' also called blind pigs or blind tigers, in every American city. These "underground" bars continued the untaxed sales of illegal alcohol. Organized crime was focused on the illegal import, manufacture, and sale of alcohol. �Probation was a godsend to organized crime. Every gang wanted their cut of the profits. The struggle and control of illegal liquor sales reached critical mass February
14, 1929 Valentines Day.

� � The events that transpired that day had roots five years earlier in November of 1924. Chicago had been divided into the North Siders, run by O'Banion; and the south side Outfit, which was controlled by Johnny Torrio and good guy, Al Capone. That November Torrio ordered the assassination of O'Banion and soon hell broke loose in the streets of Chicago. The North Siders seeking revenge nearly killed Torrio outside his house. Torrio as a result, turned over all criminal operations to Al Capone and left town. Hymie Weiss briefly ran the North Siders till Capone gun men ended his life. George 'Bugs' Moran, a long-time enemy of Capone became the heir apparent to the North Side crew. A Mob War was in full effect. It is believed, Al Capone distanced himself to Miami Florida just prior to giving orders, for Moran's Murder. Linking Capone to a murder in Chicago from Miami would prove difficult. Capone had a very special 'valentine' that we wanted delivered to Moran.

� � Adam Heyer, a friend of Moran, owned S-M-C Cartage Co. at 2122 North Clark Street. Capone via unknown contacts made Moran aware that a special shipment of hijacked whiskey was going to be delivered to the garage at 2122 North Clark Street. On the morning of February 13 Moran arranged to be present to meet the truck the following day. The rest as they say,... is history. Johnny May, a German Shepherd named Highball, Frank and Pete Gusenberg, James Clark, Adam Heyer, Al Weinshank, �and Reinhardt Schwimmer waited in the garage for the meet up. Moran had been late all morning. A police car had parked outside the garage. Moran having spotted the police car and of want to avoid a possible shakedown, continued to the next street for a cup of tea. Five men eventually left the police cruiser and entered the garage. Two of the men were in police uniforms, the other three were in regular attire. A moment of machine gun clatter took place and then silence. �In total 7 men were violently massacred execution style with their backs against the wall. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre ended with Al Capone in sole control
of bootleg operations in Chicago. The violence erupting out of Chicago was now a topic of National concern. Al Capone would soon become, "Public Enemy Number One".Gone but not forgotten:

� � Al Capone would end up serving 8 months of a year sentence, in Eastern State Penitentiary. While incarcerated Capone's mental status was in question as he believed he was being haunted by the ghost of James Clark, one of the massacre victims. Inmates would later gone on to proclaim they could hear Capone screaming in his cell, begging 'Jimmy' to go away and leave him alone. Upon release Capone continued to believe he was plagued by the ghost of James Clark. He even enlisted �a psychic named Alice Britt to get rid of Clark?s angry spirit.

� � In the days, months, and years following the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, the S-M-C Cartage Co. at 2122 North Clark Street had became a hot spot for tourists. Eventually ownership of the garage changed hands. In 1949, new owners opened an antique furniture business. �The couple that owned the business later recounted, that the building may have been haunted. Eventually the business closed in 1967 and the building was finally
demolished.

�Canadian entrepreneur George Patey purchased the bullet ridden bricks that lined the garage wall just prior too complete demolition. In 1972 he opened a roaring twenties themed nightclub and used the bricks as part of the men's restroom wall. �In time the club closed. Patey placed the 400 plus bricks into storage. �He would later offer them for sale with a written account of the massacre at a price of $1000 each. �Unfortunately for Patey the bricks were being returned as fast as they are being sold. It is believed, that anyone who purchased one of the bricks met with bad luck; manifesting in the form of illness, financial disaster, divorce and even death. According to the ill fated buyers, the bricks were a powerful source of negative energy, emanating from the St. valentine's
day massacre.

� �Clark street is believed to be haunted. Passerby's and witnesses claim to have heard screams, and machine gun fire. So if anyone knows my past posts they may be aware of the new house me and my woman bought last year and how we have had some of the usual suspects to a limited ghost in the home.

WELLLLLLLL last night we invited the agent who helped us buy the house over to see all our improvements since she is also a good friend of my girl and we started talking and the ghost subject came up.
We told her about the noises, the time we found my tools propped up and some of the other tid bits.
WE THEN made the joke about how we thought the old owner may have been sneaking in and we changed the locks ASAP.
Well wouldnt you know this morning my girl went to leave for work and I hear her laugh and yell "I'm locked out?".
Well locked in more like it. Its a rasied ranch and we always go in and out the lower level side door to the driveway. Well somehow the lower level stairwell door (interior) decided to lock itself last night from the other side.
We never even knew the door had a lock (good for me to know now lol). So we joked about how the agent stirred up our ghost who had been hiding for a few months now and she left throught he front. I went out the back to warm up my car and opened the side door from the outside to unlock the lower level door from behind. I expected to find the lock dial turned just slightly thinking "well maybe the knob stuck last night and slightly turned the lock with it...." but nope. This lock was turned all the way in is vertical locked position.

I'm still skeptical about it but find the timing so curious that the agent who hadnt been there in a year shows up, we talk to someone about the resident and then this happens. Ironically downstairs in where all the noises came from in the beginning and where most of the demo and rebuilding is happening.

that do you guys think? Be it the agent beleived us. She is a straight up Italian and we are a pretty superstitious people lol.

update: So i went home on lunch to test my sticky knob idea (i work 5 mins form my house). Not only does the locking mech not stick but even if you turn the knob all the way to its stopping point left or right the actual locking mech doesnt turn fully up down with it. The only way I can see the mech turning fully up/down is if someone did it. crazy

So my husband always takes his wedding ring off before a shower.he puts it in the same place every time.
Now my husband refuses to believe in the paranormal.Me I have had many things get moved or hidden on me.
So he gets out of the shower and his ring as disappeared.we searched every where for it.Later that night while he was at work,I cleaned and vacuumed.I looked for his ring more.
I told him before he left the ghost took it.I said don't worry he will give it back as he usually does.
So my hubby got home @2 am.he works late.I was setting on the floor next to the fireplace.he was on the couch.Out of know where I got a funny feeling.I look to my left,right next to me was his ring.
I laughed showed his where it was.than handed it to him.and said told you he'd give it back......lol.my husband had nothing to say and looked very confused.It was great:-)

While scouting a new locale and doing saturating every possible nook and cranny I think I MAY have captured a couple things I need more sets of eyes to look at this photo and submit some feedback. I seem to see two possible captures, one smack in the middle of the screen with a fedora and sun glasses and the other looks to be a outline of a guy with headphones on, do you see what I think I see? I captured this photo at a new location and from the looks of the evp captures a massive amount of chatter, those will come later...and yes the photo was lightened a bit..

A Little Bit Freaked Out

So I had a ghost following me since freshman year of college (about 7 years ago). It started out pretty harmlessly. I'd hear keys jingling in the middle of the night. Things would disappear then reappear a week later in a really random spot. Radios would suddenly change stations (and not a little change...I mean from like a FM station to an AM station on the other end of the dial). Lights would flicker. So I moved to a new dorm...twice. And then things started to get worse. I started to feel sick randomly. I'd feel fine as soon as I left my dorm. Doors would get held shut when I'd try to leave. I would hear a voice when I tried to sleep. I'd wake up and see a dark shadow at the foot of my bed. So then I moved to a new dorm. And everything still continued. Except now bigger things were getting moved around. I once woke up and found my bed moved across the room (and I had one of those really old iron beds...very heavy). I also had a book thrown at me once. So as soon as I graduated, I moved out to California. Everything seemed to calm down then. The radio would still turn on and off. Little things disappeared then reappeared. There were little sounds. I ended up moving back to Indiana and got an apartment here. For the last two years there has been hardly anything happening. I think the only thing that had happened was some lights flickering on and off.

And then this morning I was in my bathroom getting ready for work with my bathroom door closed. And there was a knock. On my bathroom door. I completely FREAKED out! Particularly since I live alone and my apartment door was locked and had the chain latch on. When I got the courage to open my bathroom door and look out, there was (of course) nobody there. Except my cat, who was completely poofed up and crying.

So now I'm really scared that the spirit is back. And that things are just going to get worse and worse.

I searched Google on this subject and found little if anything at all. The reason for the searching is
because my family are all seeing something odd. I saw one post on this subject and even found a video
of something very similar. I really couldn't find any articles on this phenomena trying to explain what
we are all seeing. I would like to know if anyone has ever seen these or anything like it before.

There not really like the stereotypical ghost you see in movies or anything. They're streaks out of the
corners of your eyes and on rare occasions right in front of your face. I have been lucky enough to have
lived in a rental house with moving shadows before. However this is something strange. Here is a better
description of them.

They are very fast moving, roundish, the range in color from white to black, range in size from a bumblebee
to a beach ball, most of the time they leave a streak behind that looks like a shooting star tail but fades
much faster and they usually are floating but are sometimes seen on the floor. They also seem to frequent
certain areas on the house. Some other things we have noticed is that showtimes best after midnight and
peeks coinciding with the full moon. So far we have yet to catch one on video.

We have had 2 major instances of these things showing up right before our eyes. There were 3 witnesses to
an instance of this if you count an african grey parrot. And yes these birds really are as smart of they say.
Our birds is on par with a 5 year old in intelligence with an emotional state of a 1.5 year old child.

The first major experience happen at 1:30am the night before the fool moon. The room was lit by 2 lamps with
shades. As we were watching a movie, something smacked the xbox controller and attached headset off the
entertainment center and a nano second after, took off to the left toward my birds cage. The birds reacted by
flapping like mad to get away from it and ended up on the opposite side of the cage shaking. We both looked
at each other and we confirmed seeing something and then proceeded to explain what we saw to one another. We
Agree that what we saw except the color. I saw grey with brown streaks and she saw only grey. We both agree
that it knocked off the controller and went right at sam, dispersing an inch or so from his cage. We agree
that it was 2.5 feet off the ground and passed under the 50 inch plasma tv. Honestly it just manifested at
the same moment and place where the controller got smacked and darted at the birds cage fast enough to be a
blur in our eyes. Damndist this i ever saw..

The second instance was by my GF only tonight as something black the size of a golf ball passed between her
and her bird she was holding in front of her face. This time the thing was black, small and moved slower with
no tail. She says that it moved about the speed of a cat trotting around but not at full speed. It also floated
slowly out of a wall she was standing near.

Other than that, we usually only see these things from the corners of our eye. There has been alot more activity
than this going on but the streaks are seen the most. They do tend to manifest and dissapere or go into or out
of walls. We both saw a giant black beach ball size sphere once go through the hallway and into my sons room.
My son also sees movement in the dark in his room in a certain corner only.

HAS ANYONE else out there experienced anything like this before? Please share

addition, A floating average is used. Every time a new value is recieved an average is calculated. Lastly a threshold Vaule (which only Bill knows) is used

to tie everything together. A new count is received only if its greater than the average plus threshold or less than the average minus threshold the word is

used. this acts like a squelce. In this case ever changing inputs combine and form unique (filtered) outputs. In essence no one mathematical expression

(algorithm) can explain the inputs vs outputs.

� � �There are many options available for paranormal investigators to produce similar if not better ITC devices. One promissing platform is the Arduino.�

Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for artists, designers,

� � One claim made is that the Device produces words not contained within the database in word mode. Several things may be going on to produce these

results.� It is possible the word database was corrupted. Also a� flaw in components or programming code could also produce such errors. The output from the

SpeakJet box gives us clues about the X. When EMF directly drives the word database, all sorts of non paranormal words and sounds are produced. It is likely

that some sort of filtering like that of the "Puck" is in use. People may be less apt to buy into the X, if the same word was spoken over and over due static

� � Experimenting by indentifying positive and negative correlations between EMF fields and EVP's is a great idea. Do EMF spikes result when similar words

are used in EVP's? If such a corrolation was found then, a programmable system like Bill's would be of use. Unfortunatley the X is short on presentable

science due to copy rights, of which I don't think Bill is arguing. The X (in our opinion) receives "0" for not having any measurable scientific support.

Some people will "need" to use this device, because of personal desire. Others will rank subject content and matter, above sheer logic. For those persons, I

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I want to hear your opinions on this.
My family has been living in the same house for the past 20 years i was 7 when we first moved in. Through out the years things have been happening but its been very minor like seeing things out of the corner of your eyes, Footsteps at night ,things falling down and recently my mom has been saying she has been seeing shadows at night while she wakes up. Anyway we had a psychic friend of ours come to the house and she said there was a spirit of a young girl who died 100s of years ago and her spirit is still in this house, but not to worry because it is not evil (truth be told nothing bad has really happened to us like being hurt or sick).

So anyway i forgot about it for a while then i watch a tv show about ghosts and this one woman says that the ghost in her house it was like it only wanted it for itself and every time she would go out all she could think of was going back home it was like she was drawn to her house.Thats exactly how I�ve been feeling these past few years without noticing it, say I'm about to go out at night all of a sudden i would get tired and then i wont go out and then when I'm out even though i don�t like my house all i can think about is going home eventhough i have nothing to do when i get there.Ive been unemployed for a while now (dam this economy) and on 3 separate occasions i have gotten calls from employers who were interested in me and all of a sudden while I'm on the phone the phone would just cut out (This has never happened before and then afterwards when I'm on the phone with my friends or someone else is using it everything is fine)It was like this ghost doesn�t want me to find a job because then i would be out of the house and not at home with it.Maybe this ghosts loves me too much because when we moved in i was the same age as it when it died and then as the years progressed it just wants me to be at home with it all day.

Now I'm really worried about this because what if this keeps me from missing opportunities like finding a partner or work or having a social life all because it just wants me to be home all day.Anytime a thought comes for me to leave the house its like i get drained and then don�t want to leave.

Any advice will be hellpful.I know this might sound silly but i really do not know who to talk about this kind of stuff to.

I Am Possessed All My Life - That Story

I am possessed, since the slathering thingie moved a spare number of similtaneously operative inhabitory spook expansions in and around me when I was 5 or 6 years old, it running them from its main base away from that. I am 57yo now and in the last 2 years that of it nobly came up so now with my very good memory I can remember my self before that intrusion and see the hideous basic differences underlying all the hideous interferences, feeds and fakeouts on the total scale spook had ever since.

The spook faked my whole childhood from then to 18 yo, every point, as, as I describe it, 2D on paper. Spook had worldwide to the/a quasi god level disconnected every scope of life so as I thought I was functioning ok but wasnt at all. Oh my 2d surface, all anyone has anything to do with, does ok, BUT was never able to go anywhere of anything. Unfortunately this didnt come up at all or significantly enough till about 10 years ago.

After 18 I had been to university for a year, left and started a factory job (both of which the spook interefered with hideously but didnt come up as that for a fair while.) and despite that large handicap of the total setbacks the spook had enacted of my total life and self to 18yo, it hadnt affected my basic democratic world citizen and career knowledge at all, and I set out at that pace.

At this stage I was aware I was suddenly inhabited by what I knew as a constant vampire presence, it gibbering and interfering 100 times a minute 24/7 and seeming to be able to "mirror" my entire surface self for that nearly instant interference on that scale. As I knew things, it was a vampire presence on an individual scale in my individual life and leaving me the "adjustable" option of the full democratic world chance.But as it turned out later on it was far worse, but I will get to that later.

I spent the next bit trying to adjust to the presence and do something with my life like that, and what didnt come up for more than a decade to several decades was that the vampire caused considerable confusion, job loss and problems. What had happened was that the vampire couldnt take that the areas it had imprisoned my childhood in were ineffective for what the vampire wanted to fake, so it started flipping out alien to anything at all AND also what only came up 6 years ago, it faked the supposed "adjustable to" spook presence thing to the/a quasi godlevel, duping some very heavy incarnations I achieved soon after that initial confusion the vampire as such caused.

What came up 6 years ago to the very honed pyshic perception was that the vampire had actually faked 100% automatically(not an adjustable to presence) in place of every aspect of everything, even the vampire presence situation at all, so no opportunity for me do anything all those years despite my 500,000 more than normal attempts at up to 20,000 times the normal good enough success ratios.

But it is far worse a possession presence than I have seen mentioned in info of others. Spook goes off on the Simpsons different time scale/stop time thing(if you have seen that Simpsons episode), with similaneously operative 30,000 units per 1,000,000 of its physique units type thing. It knows every horse race result in the world more than 33 months in the future if it lets them run and with spare fake the races appendages fakes any amount anywhere in the world as similaneously as necessary, as I term it "wind up run out clockwork mouse races, involving instant "off to the track, off on a stop time, compute every horse jockey and involved element even every memory that can come up of all involved even the race callers, for that wind up run out clockwork mouse. And always 100% automatically. All those 50 to 500 races a day it fakes like that so it can fake out every on cent, switch round like a radio/fake every race combinations, not even any vampire push and shove, just all 100% automatic.

I've always known it knows all the race results more than 5 days in the future, but lately this past 36 months as the vampire was ripping off a very straightforward $4,500,000 clear cash just from a $20 stake basis at the up to then allowed "toy" racing rates.At least that is what a few months ago came up to the perception of that activity. That is, of why 36 months ago the vampire suddenly started insanely faking 100% out of evry 50 cent amount instead of the normally allowed toy racing rates, up to 30 $300-1500 wins a day the prior 32 years and the vampire just faked the to go anywhere off the top of them.(quite a lot)

With other spare fake for itself appendages, similaneously operative, it fakes internet poker, every card and every aspect from its increasing computation of poker, and knowing every players hand and personal life history at those changing tables, going off on a different time scale of every Flop, Turn and River to fake for itself. Also lotto and stockmarket. More.

Also for example, as my perception has it, of one of its latent and general rest of world surveillance appendages, the recently shot jew spacewoman. My perception that honed and experienced, up to 100,000 times a minute and constant, says that the vampire from worldwide surveillance, also able to operate that quickly from it, rushed off and in an ensuing 50 times majorly distinct from earth possibility and reality, faked the jew woman lived instead of a very mundanely direct killing shot. WHY?? I dont like jews that much you see, and that would have been a big media score for me. So my perception says the vampire calculated of that to do that save. LOL and it would seem its not far wrong, because all the supposed replacement dead and injured jews the vampire arranged since to try and make that up, including amy winehorse, havn't got near that would have been media score level. BUT you see what i mean about the vampire surveillance.

20 years ago the vampire moved an appendage into the physical top of my leg, for the first intrusion of my basic physique, and its in place of any of my physique on that increasing total scale, and goes off eating up every defensive attempt, up to a few hundred a minute, for no relief so far, and, 7 years ago extended a spare appendage of that into my manhood and increasingly totally rapes and molests that 24/7, with again no relief at all yet, no matter what defence I attempt.

Thus the vampire intrusion presence festers pusspiles on, under the least of feasible starts at yet. That is its story so far.

The first was a year and a half ago and yes i was smoking a cigarette . but look at what is coming out of the smoke .The yard was supposed to be haunted it was very creepy after dark and we seen ghosts outside . I recently had an unusual experience whilst going about my daily household chores. My partner was seated at the dining room table & I was vacumming under & around it. While bending down under the table I spotted a small pair of legs that didn't belong. When I stood I saw my four year old nephew clear as day (he lives over an hour away w. my sister & her partner). I reached around to turn off the vacuum cleaner & when I looked back he was gone. Immediately after every hair/goose bump was furiously bristling to the point of discomfort on my body & I felt like I needed to ring my sister. I ended up resisting the urge to pick up the phone and instead waited to mention it when I saw another of my sisters only a few days later. I retold the encounter to my youngest sister who seemed puzzled but not spooked by the situation and we briefly pondered the meaning of it. Two days later my father came to this same sister to tell her of an incident that had happened at his home the previous night. It involved his step-son (12yrs old) in the living room late at night watching T.V. The boy had fallen asleep & woke from a nightmare feeling afraid. What he then saw standing in the fully lit & adjacent kitchen was my nephew (the one mentioned above). The boy was afraid and pulled the blanket over his head, when he lowered it some brief time later my nephew was standing directly in front of him. At this point the terrified 12 year old ran from the living room into his mother's & my father's bedroom where he awoke them screaming & extremely agitated. Apparently he was physically sickened by the experience & even vomited. When this was retold to me I also felt very uneasy, I actually experienced the need to 'get out' of my house & go for a walk. Instead I googled the first thing that came to mind 'live apparitions & what do they mean...?". This lead me directly to a thread on this forum involving astral projection (something I'm familiar with). What I want to know is why would a four year old boy be astrally projecting if that is indeed what is happening. Any sharing of ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. I love my nephew dearly & feel the need to get to the bottom of this strange phenomenon.

Had some free time on my hands today, so I decided to hit Ringwood Manor, however it wasn�t the Manor per se, there is an abandoned white house on the extensive property, why? I couldn�t tell you. I ventured upstairs with two recorders, one I took with me into the bedroom and the other I left in a common area in the hallway. I captured this recording where I asked, �This is a nice house� and seemed to get a direct response that says �I don�t live here�, prior to that it seemed like I heard, �Thank you, but I don�t live here�. Take a listen. I have others that are slightly marginal, so I figured I would just post the best of them.

Portals

Since a past case I was working in which there were reports of shadows, and objects being moved as well as the family dog being bothered by something nobody else could see, I have become very interested in portals. I personally feel that this is what was happening in this specific house, and although the group I was in at the time ultimately dropped the case to my knowledge the strange events there have really stuck with me as it was so peculiar.

* there was an oddly high EMF field in the center of the upstairs hallway. During the initial EMF sweep this was not detected. There were EMF fields from things in the bathroom as well as from the air conditioning, but this was mostly located on the floor. The high field found was much higher up from the floor.

* we had many instances of EVPs indicating things about the hallway, as well as a number of photographs that are very much like those produced from possible portals from my research.

* There were personal experiences by 2 of the investigators of seeing shadow people, one had yellowish green eyes and was in the location of the "portal" area.

* There was evidence of about 4 possibly 5 entities in the location at the time of our investigation that were producing intelligent responses.

From what I have read regarding portals they have been used by shadow people who are drawn to a location of possibly high interest to them for one reason or another. ( there is a large amount of limestone in the area) Generally it seems like they aren't violent but more parasitic. ( there are no children in the house)

( also, probably means nothing but there is an infinity symbol carved into the sidewalk outside. I have yet to find any connections to anything meaningful in this but I note absolutely everything lol)

So ( sorry if I am rambling just trying to get all the details i have in there lol) my question is does anyone have any experience with these or could recommend a good book or reference for this type of thing. TIA

Hi kids, it's Auntie Ame. It's been a while since I was here. I was the 10th person to actually sign up on GS when Jim first started the site many moons ago.

My granddaughter is now 5 and we are doing very well. I met a great guy and we have been together for 19 months. I now run an online auction business with an auction company. Life is good. I still do readings, but I am pushing 60!

I miss my old GS friends and I wonder how many are still around.

Franks Box Revisted

Franks spirit box, Franks box, or spirit box.

The original device was created by Frank Sumption. Frank was experimenting with various methods to produce better EVP's. Frank began tinkering with electronic voice Phenomena in 2000. Eventually leading to use of a program called EVP maker invented by the German researcher Stefan Bion. Frank believed he was not just receiving messages from spirits, but also, spirits were relaying messages for non tech savvy spirits. Frank was left with the desire to create a way for all spirits to be able to communicate equally.

The original Reciever

Frank's spirit box consists three basic components
1. White noise generator
2. Random Voltage converter (with in tolerance of receivers tuning).
3. A AM radio receiver capable of voltage tuning (common in 80-90s).
4. A wooden echo box

The concept is simple, randomness is generated (via White noise). The white noise is manipulated to produce a random voltage that coincides with the tolerance of the AM receivers voltage tuning. The output produces a spit second of audio from a random frequency in the AM broadcast range 535 - 1605 kHz. The audio is then pumped into a wooden echo box for final acoustics. After initial trials, and experimentation Frank determined random frequencies, were unnecessary and opted for use of Linear sweep tuning of the AM broadcast band. In essence randomness was removed and the tuner would start at a fixed point (535 kHz example) and continue at 1 or 10 kHz steps till ending at a frequency greater than the starting point (1605 kHz). This process would start over and continue till the device was powered off. Post Frank Sumption: Paranormal enthusiasts have taken Franks basic design and Hacked it producing DYI cheaper easier designs. The usual radios of choice are Radio Shack 25.00 dollar AM FM radios. They can be purchased new or used from places such as EBAY. I have
even seen a few given away for free on LISTIA! The basic hack is to replace the touch key (digital) tuner with a switch causing a continuous linear frequency sweep. Google DYI Franks box, to get all the latest hacks.

Pros of the original Franks box device:

1. Use of (mostly) white noise to produce randomness
2. Random Tuning of received frequencies.

Randomness is very important. Since 1998 The Global Conciosness Project monitors a geographically distributed network of hardware random number generators in a bid to identify anomalous outputs that correlate with widespread emotional responses to sets of world events, or periods of focused attention by large numbers of people. The GCP is privately funded through the Institute of Noetic Sciences and describes itself as an international collaboration of about 100 research scientists and engineers. Surprisingly many scientific correlations have been documented between global events such as 9-11 and the death of Princess Diana and a global "shift" in randomness.

Cons of the original Franks box device:

1. Lack of scientific reasoning.
2. Use of heavily populated frequencies such as AM and FM modulations.

The idea that spirits can communicate via modulated radio waves is self defeating. Logic would dictate simply tuning a radio to an a static producing frequency should produce identical results. The second major issue is that bits and pieces of audio from active radio stations are being reused as a basis of the relieved spirits. Lastly, the device could be prone to hoaxing by use of easily produced home brew AM or FM transmitters.

My thoughts on Franks Box:

I was actually pretty excited when first reading about Franks Box, and the results being achieved through its use. I still like some ideas achieved behind the spirit box. Quantum randomness seems to be affected global events. I think switching from random tuning to linear tuning was a big red flag for me. I have been involved in amateur radio projects since my teens. I built my first 40 meter CW QRP radio when I was 15 (without a HAM license lol). I now focus mostly on Digital Trunked systems civilian government and shortwave listening. My first scanner was only 20 channels and crystal controlled. I remember the radio scanning through each crystal frequency stopping, giving a brief pause of audio before, going to the next frequency. Unfortunatley for me, the scanner came with 20 crystals for frequencies not active. In hours of listening to static (before I bought some crystals that worked in my area) I never heard a single sound that resembled anything tangible. If I took that scanner to a haunted location and words started spitting out i would be pretty excited. The caveat to that would be if those frequencies where already in use in that area then, I would not be impressed. My other big problem with Franks box is that unknown science behind it. Is Frank indicating that ghosts inject audio into both modulated and unmodulated signals? I still think there is area for experimentation.

Things to consider:

1. Determinging a range of voice frequency with regards to a wide array of applicable EVP's. Humans usually produce a voice around 60 to 7000 Hz.
2. Producing a (mostly) random white noise back ground with in tolerance of determined EVP range.
3. producing an external measurable method of manipulation such as EMF, Vibration, Temperature.
4. Transferring measurable method of manipulation, into modulation within Random white noise range.
5. Exporting the frequency modulation as live audio.
6. To detract contamination a calibrated frequency counter should be used either in proximity, or internally, to record odd spikes.

Conclusion:

The franks box and variants in use, should be excluded as a viable means of information gathering with regards to the paranormal. Furthur experimentation and design changes may eventually yield better conclusive results. Franks Spirit Box (in our opinion) receives "0" for not having any measurable scientific support.

Dowsing Rods

A well respected investigator in my area recently convinced me to try dowsing rods, (not as proof of a haunting, but as an added tool in our tool box). I have always been very skeptical of such things and approached them with the idea of trying to debunk them. I am however having a difficult time debunking them because all of the experiments that we have run point towards them actually working. I have not decided either way yet if they are real or not, I am just saying with an open mind that the accuracy of the information we are getting seem to be more than pure chance.

To test these, we went into the home of one of our investigators, which we know has activity, and set out to find information about these spirits. To make our experiment fair, we separated and went into separate rooms. One at a time, we asked yes or no questions and the rods helped us get a description of the spirits. Without comparing notes between the two times we talked to the spirits, we both received this description:

1) two female child spirits, ages 7 and 5
2) Their names were Sharlet and Emmaline
3) They were born in the 1880's
4) They were attached to some item in the garage
5) They followed our female investigator because she reminded them of an "aunt"
6) Sharlet wore a blue dress with a blue ribbon in her hair.
7) Emmaline wore a white dress with a white ribbon in her hair.
8) Their mother's name was Francesca and she was French and worked in a bar on 1st Street
9) Their father's name was James McCully and he was Irish and his job was a merchant sailor.
10) They girls died of a sickness within a few day of each other.

After comparing notes, none of the answers we received contradicted each other. We conducted another test, to ensure that our own hands weren't influencing the answers. for this test, I held the rods and the other investigator listed names in her head, the spirits were to cross the rods whenever the other investigator thought of one of the girls parents names. We did this several times, and the other investigator confirmed that the rods only crossed when the specific names were thought of.

I don't know if I am asking for someone to help debunk what we experienced or to confirm that dowsing rods work for you too, but I would love to hear both confirmation and a dissenting opinion if they are out there.
