I'm not a nurse but I have a hospital story.

I was in for a couple days a few years ago and there was a man in my room.   My overnight nurse was male and the first time I noticed the man I thought that my nurse had come in to check on me.   He walked around the bed to my drip stand,  fiddled around for a minute and left (I never opened my eyes...  I had a migraine and was trying to lay quietly without throwing up).   Ten minutes later my nurse came in and I was like "is there something wrong?   You were just in here."   He assured me he hadn't been since he'd brought me a cold pack a couple hours earlier.   Later on the man walked in and sat down in the recliner in the room.   This time I looked and no one was there.   My nurse came in a couple minutes later again and this time I asked if anyone had ever mentioned any activity because there was a man sitting in the recliner right then (it was squeaking and moving around just like someone was sitting there).   He kind of gave me the side eye like stuff had happened but he wasn't going to tell me about it.   The activity continued randomly the entire time I was in...  every time a few minutes before a nurse came into the room.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. --Herm Albright

That's so cool. It seems he was looking out for your welfare.
