I'm here to share a photo with you guys today.  I was touring the Whaley House in old town San Diego back in August.  This photo is not mine; a woman who was on our ghost tour took it with her cell phone.  We asked her to text it to us, and she did.   Because I did not take it myself, I can't say much about it, except that it's very interesting.  Thought you all would like to see it as well.

I'd see if I could find a picture of someone connected with the house that looks like that.   I'd also be going through ghost app image archives at the same time.

I have old eyes. Are you referring to what appears to be propped up in the other room in the left corner on the right side of the image?

Look in the far doorway,  EVP.   It helps if you blow it up.

This is a picture of daughter Violet Whaley, who committed suicide in the home.  There is also a photo of her mother, Anna Whaley - but I couldn't seem to post that on here.  I'll try again.  Anyway, she died in Modesto many years later.  I think it could be either one.

I haven't checked into any ghost apps yet.  Will work on that.

EVP, if you blow up the photo and look in the doorway, you should see it.

Thanks Tantric, now I see what the OP was referring to.

Thanks eeek8 :)

My synopsis is a fleshy with their head in the doorway and appears somewhat transparent which is common when the camera is light starved and the shutter is forced to stay open longer. The camera is actually capturing motion. Very common for cellphones when shooting indoors. If we had the EXIF data intact in the image, I'm sure it would confirm my conclusion.

I can see part of the figure in front of the door frame.   So it would have to be either a long enough exposure that they could move their entire body out of frame or it's something besides a person.

I'm not completely outside "really coincidental smudge" because it happens all the time with cellphones.   But besides that it comes down to trust.   If you rule out a person (because it's in front of the door frame) and put aside smudge it's either a pretty impressive capture or a ghost app.   And these things always seem to be ghost apps anymore.

Oh jeez, I should have mentioned this in the beginning - the "apparition", for lack of a better word, looks to me to be sitting in the chair next to a window (it's not a door).  Not sure if this is visible, but that section of the home is roped off so no one is allowed in.  Interesting takes on it, I like this discussion!

eeek8 is right, that is a window, the doorway is further to the left, you can just see the door frame.. It does look like it's sitting in the chair.

what an interesting image! Very clear to see what you're talking about, thats why I think it might be what Tantric has said, long exposure.

Just because you cant see it, doesn't mean it's not there
