Wow thanks for that insight K9, that changes the theories of it being a reflection, thats for sure!
It's in the trees, it's coming!

if you look at the wall without the figure you do see some reflection, I think that is because of a flash or very bright light. It's not as reflective as it looks and the grout lines that are reflected are distorted because the tile has a dome shape on the surface of it. The figure is not distorted in the same way, all though it is fuzzy

It seems no one has thought of, the possibility, that the owner/architect has a replica statue of David in his bathroom.

My thoughts exactly, MacC ^_^

I can offer my opinion on it... I guess to many, it's considered art. But to most children that frequent this site, they will see it as flat out nudity. And the parents may not want them exposed to it at a certain age range.

Michelangelo's David is one of the most important works of art in the history of mankind,
Nothing sexual or erotic about it....UNTIL you blur out his willy. Only then it becomes something dirty.

Frankly; I think people get too uptight about sex and nudity.

Now; I'm not saying that preschoolers should watch Ron Jeremy flicks but our society is really weird about sex and nudity.
  • The "Gravedigger" (an evil serial killer character) gets her entire head blown off by a sniper on Bones....no big deal. :)
  • Endless graphic gruesome violence involving ghouls and humans alike on The Walking Dead....no big deal. :)
  • Jack Bauer brutally tortures a villain on 24....No big deal. :)
  • Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake do a Super Bowl halftime musical performance resulting in barely a second of Janet-nipple on National TV....OMG! THE WORLD'S COMING TO AN END!!! :confused0068:
Of course; I'm talking from a United States perspective. For a country that yammers on about "FREEDOM!" a lot, we're actually a lot less free than folks in Western Europe. Perhaps The Statue of  Liberty should be shipped to Oslo, Norway.

Also; until recently, NOBODY CARED if David's marble kosher-wiener was visible! It was great art and therefore an exception. Same with other artwork with nudes in them. Same with topless "native" women on nature shows about indigenous tribes in Africa, The Amazon or whatever. Growing up, I remember seeing bare African/Amazonian/New Guinean/etc. breasts and buns on a regular basis on those types of shows.

Now; Art work and people from....uh....less tech-heavy....societies....get the blurred-spot treatment.

So; In a nutshell....blood-splattering graphic violence is perfectly fine and great for the whole family :character0036:  but lady-nipples are of Satan. :th_evil:

Then there's people who freak-out because a nursing mom is using her boob for the very purpose it's meant for. :verymad:

Ahhhh....Priorities.

We need to be like Western Europe.

I still think that's David shopped in there and someone's pulling our leg.

I don't think it's David,  although it could be photoshop.

If you look at the contours even though it's a male body in a similar attitude  the chest is distinctly different (man boobs versus idealized pectoral muscles)  and the pelvic line is much more vertical than on the statue.

I'm still leaning towards steam because there's a similar cloudiness on the wall on the left in a very different shape.   It could be combined with a reflection because despite what K9 crusader said it's obviously a highly reflective surface looking at the reflected objects and grout lines you can easily make out.

I only have a minute...
I surely didn't think this would become a debate. We aren't the one's that are making decisions for the children that view this website or their parents, for that matter. It's really not up to us to decide how parents will parent their children. And unless we get complaints, everything is fine. Well, unless this turns into a huge debate and that's when the consideration of locking the tread would come into play.

Maybe we can now take the conversation back to the consideration of if this photo is supernatural or otherwise.  :)

Some tiles do not reflect evenly.

What's odd about the reflection is you can see the lines between the tile reflected on the left side of the wall, but not the "figure". That strikes me as odd. In the upper corner where the walls meet, it looks like you can see the outside reflected through a window, this is evenly reflected on each wall

That's why I think steam,  vlawde.   Because there is a reflection of something cloudy and white there that looks nothing like a figure.

I think I found one of the tiles used in the photo.

Couldn't it be glass tiles?

Thank you, Tantric... I'm not seeing it as the "David" statue either, even with a lot of Photoshop.

I'm kind of siding with K9Crusader (page 2) about the tile. His 21 years of tile experience is at least worth considering. At least that's my thoughts on the glass theory.  :whistling:

I guess what I was trying to say in my prior post was that tile really does not have a mirror like finish, reflective was probably the wrong word. The photo in Kevinscan post is a great example of that, the person that took the picture is very hard to make out. The figure in the photo in question is much more defined and crisp and the tile in that picture is the same style as the tile in Kevinscan photo. Anyway I think it's fun trying to figure these things out!

Well, I'm still impressed with the possibility of it being something supernatural... but I'm open to all ideas.  : )
