Anyone catch this last night? Yes, it is based on the novel and movie of the same name, but is it's own story. They do play homage to the movie, in one scene a priest is reading newspaper clippings, and there is an article about the happenings at the MacNeil house (Regans' family) and a passing shot/reference to the famous stairs.

So far I like it. Not cheesy like you might think, scary, well written and acted. Worth checking out if you enjoy demonic hijinks! :)

Yep.  I had to give it a view and it was very well done.  Better than expected.

I watched it again because the 2nd epi is on tonight and I'm not missing it.  The story line is well written and I like the characters and we've got lots to learn about those 2 priests.  I have never given consideration to the fact that some people might lose their minds or their faith or even commit a crime when in service to God.  That community, St. Acquinis (sp) reminded me of what once was the Traverse City Mental Hospital, home to the insane.  Ah yep.

The possessed Mexican boy was really creepy. The twisting head must be a nod to the movie, no pea soup though. I liked it over all.

Disappointment.  It started out so well and now I'm not so sure.  Boo Hoo.  or is that Boo Boo.  What did you think?

Yeah, last night's episode seemed more of a transition episode to the nest phase in the story, but what's coming up looks good. They had to throw in all kinds of things in the first episode to get people interested, now it looks like they are looking to get into the details of the story to carry this out long term. We'll see how it shakes out over the season. Bonus points this episode for coming home and finding the creepy priest has broken in and is making himself at home. "Hi, I'm your new roommate. I've gone through your letters and personal belongings. Would you like  some tea?"

Now we're getting into the meat of this story. I'm guessing if this goes more than one season, it'll just focus on another case?  I really hope there is a overall story arc that carries over, versus a "possession/monster of the week" thing. That's just lazy IMO

That would be lazy.  I cannot see it succeeding with a new story every season, after all they have opened up a can of worms with multiple body parts.  Where one is found there are usually many.  Is the church compromised?

I'm with you, Monster of the Week won't work.

I've got it programmed to come on at 9:00 p.m.

Vlawde or anyone else who is watching....who is that heavy woman whose husband is dying, gave Father Thomas that 100,000 check...she's suspect in my book.
