I never watched the exorcist, I know it would have traumatized me.  I watched an Alfred Hitchcock show when I was a child that still bothers me to this day (I am in my sixties) when I happen to think about it. It involved a hand crawling across the floor and choking people. Weird how I never forgot that one!
Don't tell me that I didn't see what I saw, or didn't hear what I heard.......Snickers

I must have been around eight years old when I saw this. 1973 or '74.
My older brothers smuggled me into the movie theater.
Thought it was a great movie...until I was alone in my bedroom that night.

I must be a weird person; the only horror movie ever to bother me was the slasher called Jeepers Creepers. By the way I love 'The Exorcist' and 'The Legend of Hell House.'

Dazzled Dad, Have you seen 'The Haunting of Hill House (1959)or IMO the funny 'The House on Haunted Hill'(1963)?

I guess I like Robert Englund too much to be scared of Freddy Krueger.  Posted Image

It was Terminator 2 for me that nuclear scene at the start is what scared me the most, it still freaks me out now!

I normally don't watch supernatural movies because I get too frightened and I don't like to be frightened that way. But I have no problem with watching thrillers minus the supernatural of course. If that makes any sense

Yes it does; movies like th film noir: "The Most Dangerous Game" (1932), "The Sphinx" (1933), "Murder by Television" (1935) , "Torture Ship" (1939), “The Glass Key” (1942), "Phantom Lady" (1944), "The Blue Dahlia" (1946), "The Wrong Man" (1956), "Suspicion" (1941), "Strangers on a Train" (1951), "I Confess"(1953), and the more modern ".L.A. Confidential" (1997).

The Exorcist for sure. I really liked Jeepers Creepers, it kind of felt like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or the original Night of the Walking Dead (Both also traumatizing). I felt the last part of the movie descended into cheesiness so I didn't like that. The mystery of the Creeper was good, until they revealed him to be a bat kind of monster

Those are the two on my list too!

One, two, Freddy's coming for you
Three, four, better lock your door
Five, six, grab your crucifix
Seven, eight, gonna stay up late
Nine, ten, never sleep again

The exorsist.  I had a babysitter that made us watch it in the dark in the middle of the night.  She used to also read us revelations by flashlight.  She was horrible!!!
