I make:  homemade bath soap
  homemade hard lotion bars
  jewel weed salve
  my own furniture wax
  colloidal silver
  homemade laundry soap
  homemade teas
deep fried dandelion flowers (yum!)
  plantain salve

Curious if anyone else makes things instead of buying them. Anyone?

I design websites and I'm a design consultant.

That's great Captain Kundalini, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that!

I made pesto yesterday with the garlic scapes that I cut from my garlic plants. Turned out not so good!  It was worth a try though.

I love bath bombs, they are super easy to make. Recipe and Online store for non-staining pigments and tons of scents

Thanks for the Bath Bombs recipe, Frootloops! ..... We'll probably make a trial batch soon... and then bunches of them at Christmas time.  :)

Oh, and Snickers.... Deep Fried Dandelion Flowers sound like something I'm going to have to try!

Thank you for the bath bomb recipe MrsFrootloops!  Since we have a septic system, I am not sure we should use them here. However, I can make them and give them as gifts! I will have to try them soon. I wonder what I can use for a mold without buying one? My oldest son made my wooden soap molds for me as a Christmas present one year. Plastic Easter eggs might work! I have a ton of those!

You can use anything as a mold, as long as you can pack it in tightly. I've seen people use candle molds, soap molds, cake molds, plastic eggs, cookie cutters, those plastic ball ornaments that have the two halves... pretty much anything
Do whatever makes you happy, whatever fruits your loops.

the septic tank should be fine, once the bath bomb is dissolved, it's just colored, scented water. Just don't add things like flower blossoms or glitter or something.

Hi,Snickers:

I might have missed it but what what got you started on homemade items.  I'm curious?

Ooops.  I found it.  Financial reasons most certainly can teach you what you need to buy and what you don't.

The first thing I thought of after reading your blog was, Mother Earth.   It's still being published although it might now be an e-magazine.  They had a forum too but I have not attended in years.   I was more curious about it than anything else.

I have a favorite scent that seems to be only an oil anymore.  You don't find it in candles or soaps unless they are handmade.

So let's have the soap recipe.

Thank you.
