Without impressioning anyone, please explain away this picture. It was shot with a digital camera and my friend assured me it was not manipulated in any way.

Now that is freaky, if not scary/ dangerous! It looks like some prehistoric animal  :confused0068:   I have no idea what it is and I will be following the thread to see what others think it could be.

Lol Vlawde, it's directly behind the middle girls head. Don't feel bad, I usually don't see this stuff either and I'm a photographer ;) It's the black contaminant. Klainey definitely saw it from the way she describes it :)

:D The thing in the red circle is slightly unusual... if I saw it in real time I would be running in the opposite direction to it! LOL

This is the same image but I've used pixel enlargement software at 300%, cropped and quickly auto-toned the image in PS CC 2017. I have now reached my own conclusion that I will share much later when there has been more interaction in the thread.

Slender Man? Ha ha!!

Honestly not sure. Some times I see a couple of black labs playing. Then other times it looks like a piece of old equipment. Then sometimes I think it's a leaf close to the lens.

I see a man dressed in black standing in the back watching them.  Does the name Stan or Stanley mean anything to your friend?

Looking at the enlarged photo it doesn't really look like whatever it is is actually IN the photo, but, maybe added later.

Is there any chance at all that your friend could have done some manipulation, EVP?

It looks like an emu to me and a shadowy man as well, but it could be a burnt out tree trunk and things that are from the trees?

I see the horse with the outline as well!

Sorry for the big delay. This thread got lost and I forgot I even created it. Yes I'm senile okay and old. I don't remember what I forget :)

No Jim, I don't think so, I've known her for 8 years and we often photograph and investigate together. She knows her way around PS but she's a genuine person.

Quote

So...are you going to tell us what you think this is or do you know?.

My apologies Lorac for the latency.

If you sample in PS, the area in question, is the darkest value in the overall scene. She was using a Pentax Kx which is an interchangeable lens crop sensor camera. I suspect that some contaminant found it's way (fiber or thread from a lens change) onto the mirror/sensor and could very well have fallen or flipped off once the mirror was drawn up when the image was made. Her immediate picture after did not have the same contaminant on it.

It's so dark because it's blocking direct light inside the camera. I have my sensor/mirror/focusing screen cleaned a couple of times a year. Contaminants are inevitable if you change lenses and dust can even find its way inside a lens from the breathing during the zoom.

My new habit is to ensure the body cap/lens cap is inserted into my camera bag inside a plastic bag. I have found on a number of occasions when you put either cap in your pocket, it can pick up lint, thread or fiber particulate from inside your pant pocket. It sticks really easy because the caps are plastic and develop a static charge allowing them to cling.

That's my take anyways.
