I guess I should of added so no confusion,  lots of people say its a hoax, and a lot of people think it sounds like Blair Witch Project.  The Blair Witch Project I 100% agree but nobody is trying to copy it,  haystack very similar story and I thought that in 99 when movie came out.  However haystack incident was 1995 when the college students came here and did their investigation.  Prior to that a few years movie people from Hollywood came to Petaluma trying to gather all they could about the place, they stayed for a few days.

The article has a few little embellishments but the rest is pretty much true.  I know this because I remember some of it.   I have lived here all my life, before me my parents and grandparents.

Thank You ThisIsMeAllUCanC

Ps This is why I am here.  Wanting to know if spirits can make their way down river,  to my house.  I live about mile or so away same street

Ps This is why I am here.  Wanting to know if spirits can make their way down river,

I hope you decide to stick around ThisIsMeAllUCanC.  Welcome to the Forums.  You have lots of energy, it kinda spills out.  I had never considered this as a possibility of any kind until I went to work in a public building and had more trouble than I had never known before in my entire life and have never come across another like it.  The phenomena it produced was never ending, complete with full bodied apparitions but it wasn't the spooks who made it the most miserable place on the face of the earth but how it affected the people who worked on the Northeast side.  I was at my wits end and consulted with a friend who had a friend that believed the land could effect the building and consequently fill a place with bad juju. (energy)

I had nothing to lose.  I gave him the address and he went to work.  It didn't cost me a dime and he provided me with maps, history and where the problem started.  It was all very interesting and I went to the source literally to see where the problem was originating.  It was a cemetery.  One they had left intact and developed the land around it over time yet in the process changed the course of the groundwater which naturally ran beneath the cemetery and had been rerouted during construction over the years until it made its way to the building I worked in and beyond.  So that's why we flood all the time!  That building is still flooding to this day!

To make a long story short, that cemetery wasn't a very happy place, consequently all that negative energy made its way to us.  Now he told me what to do and I did it, no questions asked because I was desperate.  Did it work?  Yes.  It worked so well it blew the waterline into the building.  We will call that a coincident.  I didn't have anymore trouble after that except for my boss thinking that I had something to do with that line burst.  Who can say?  lol

Sounds like a horror film in the vein of The Blair Witch Project.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0400533/
The IMDB even lists it as "Horror, Thriller" and not "Documentary".

Sounds like a bunch of people trying to recreate the "Blair Witch" magic (complete with a similar viral campaign).

Also; While I'm open to the concept of malevolent entities that hurt people, the premise sounds far-fetched....A mysterious force that kills each person, one-by-one. Sounds like a horror cliché.

That said; I am by no means judging our new member, ThisIsMeAllUCanC, nor do I wish to disparage their passion for the Paranormal. I imagine they (using 'they' as a gender-neutral pronoun like 'he' or 'she' since 'they/their/they're' seems to be catching on as a singular, gender-less pronoun, recently as opposed to stuff like 'zie/zir' or whatever.) might be young and new to this. It's like me many years ago when I first got into this ghostie-stuff on the Web.

Some who have been here for years, who are still here, may remember me as Ms.Stinkerbelle75. My posts had a The Bugaloos/Faery/Tinkerbell theme and I would go overboard with the emojis and multiple colors in my words. I was new to the web and JUST HAD to take advantage of the goodies available in the Comment-Writing thingy.

Back then; I pretty much took every photo/EVP/evidence/Ghost-investigation TV show at face-value. I accepted camera straps and hairs as "vortexes" and never considered stuff like fakery, camera glitches, or paredolia. I didn't examine EVERYTHING on a case by case basis.

Now; I know that "vortexes" are camera straps & hair, most orbs are dust or snow, the TV shows are often half-true or whole lies and that not everything on The History Channel or The Discovery Channel is legitimately educational.

Over time; I learned to be more discriminating. I may have become a bummer to realize that good evidence is rarer than I thought (and some 'famous ghost photos' have since been proven to be hoaxes, like the 'Wem Hall Fire Girl' who turned out to be a Turn-of-the-20th-Century girl on an old postcard shopped into a photo of the burning Wem Hall).

Anyhoo. Welcome to GhostStudy/Paranormal Soup, ThisIsMeAllUCanC! So happy to meet someone new to the world of THE PARANORMAL! We're very friendly here and we don't do trolls. This is a very safe space and we're all your pals.

The only thing I can find about Professor Richard Williams UCLA is this:

Quote

Richard Stanley Williams (born 1951) is research scientist in the field of nanotechnology and a Senior Fellow and the founding director of the Quantum Science Research Laboratory at Hewlett-Packard. He has over 57 patents, with 40 more patents pending.[1] At HP, he led a group that developed a working solid state version of Leon Chua's memristor.[2][3]
Williams earned a bachelor's degree in chemical physics in 1974 from Rice University and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1978. After graduating, he worked at Bell Labs before joining the faculty at UCLA, where he served as a professor from 1980 to 1995. He then joined HP Labs as director of its Information and Quantum Systems Lab.[4]

Source

Also, there was a movie made about this subject. The movie was released in 1999. There is a cast member listed as Rick Williams.

Quote

Video footage from several different cameras is found and pieced together by Sonoma County Sheriff's investigators to help in finding who or what is responsible for a mysterious horrific multiple slaying. The footage follows a group of students and their instructor as they investigate a secluded notoriously haunted house. Disturbing unexplainable events take place, until the unseen phenomena picks them off, one by one. Written by Real Horror Films

Sorry Dear I am m older and have more common sense that 10 people.  I also should be a detective.  I won't say anything for fact unless it is.  If I a not sure, I say I think,   that way I am never wrong....its simple but brilliant.   I make sure I do my homework, because I have a thing about guessing truths.   When I was young my sisters would get into fights about who was right and wrong they usually both were wrong.  Then just act like it was nothing,  it drove me crazy.  To me it sounded like they were already having gambling problems lol  I nailed that one.

I have co-owned my own board it wasn't for Paranormal but it did have over 5,000 members.   Funny thing I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to open a room now or post a picture lol.   My job was getting Sponsors to pay for board and give members free $ to spend at their sites in contests we ran for them.
You are absolutely correct about Blair Witch does sound like Haystack.  It might have something to do with the film makers and other hollyweird people in Petaluma gathering all info on haystack in 1990's.  They said they were going to make a movie but nothing every came of it.  It was a few years later Blair Witch came out and lo and behold sounds familiar.

Its not a hoax, well I am not sure of everything said on web but for most part its correct.

After professor and students were terrified there the Sheriffs did their investigation (however it was only for students experience at that time. Where they brought in specialist to assist them....finally came up with inconclusive or something to that degree.  There is much more things out there on Haystack but its here in Petaluma.   For instance in 1952 Mr Keller lays out plans for town, everyone told him to leave haystack off of the map, he took their advice and left the area off the map or any place close to it.  However we have family maps with it on it and that was in late 1800's.  BUSTED!!! My father would be 100 right now here had me in his 60's, he lived here his life here and he told us stories that his dad told him.  Always told to stay away from the place.

Now I am all over this like fly's on honey....I am going to dig until I find out what is up with this place.  I'm obsessed.

Sorry about my typing I do it two fingers, and about 100 words a hour so I am not going to correct it.  I hope you are able to read my Typonese.  How clever I am I have my own style of typing

Thank you everyone for welcome,  I am happier than a clam in high tide to be here

I don't want to turn blue from holding my breath.

I cant even keep up where he is talking about 3 different places.  The map doesn't look right but is hard to read maps for me anyways.

What I don't get is why is he speaking at all, when he wasn't even there?   Because he has sat at other tables?  I have watch a few brain surgeries, however,  I am not going to speak of it like I'm a credible on that subject.   Also I didn't really hear anything about the past stories.  Is Petaluma going to recognize haystack now?  and its ugly past?  I will tell you there will be a huge uproar over this if they don't take some actions to heal that place.

I think you have motivated me to take a trip down town to see what this is about.  Even though I have seen this article before,,  I figured it was just someone mouthing off.

Bottom line what scares me is if they don't take precautions to clear the bad juju it will hurt people.   30 men were burned to death in one structure,  image the damage it could be in parking garage.

Anyways thank you for post you have motivated me
Cheers ThisIsMeAllUCanC

I can't find a single article about the site prior to the movie, all the the articles mention the movie in the very first sections of the articles.
"th
In particular I'm finding several dead links (movie promotional stuff?)   and I'm thinking it was doing the same cashing in on people being unclear as to whether it was fiction or not that Blair Witch did.

Secondarily, for something reputed to be "the Most Haunted House In The World" I'd never heard of it before the movie. Heck, I don't think I've heard of it before now.
It also doesn't seem to be listed in any of the Holzer books either, and he travelled all over documenting haunted houses.  If there was a claim of "Most Haunted House In The World" I'd have thought he'd probably have stopped there at some point.

from: http://www.sacredson...acklanding.html

"Although the "Incident at Haystack Landing" makers claim the Petaluma Historical Society does not recognize the site as an historic place, the society has kept good tabs on the property. As far as its historians know, none of the events described on the Web site ever took place, according to Benanti. I was unable to get in touch with the film's producers or obtain a copy of the film. Nobody at the historical society has seen it, Benanti said."
