Bear with me, folks because I'm consistently inconsistent.
The Mini-Camper.

Since I have absolutely no experience in regard to drawing up plans or blueprints,
I've taken to a 3D Virtual world called Second Life to build a template of what I want the interior
to look like.

Step One was taking out the Second Row Seats. Each seat must have weighed close to 100 pounds.
After some heavy lifting, I got them out. The Third Row seats were more complicated in their removal.
When not in use they are folded away in a storage compartment. I took the SUV to the Honda place and
they removed them. I'm going to put my 2 Coolers in that space.

Step Two will be setting up the floor. It's going to nice and snug, so I'll need to get some measurements. If need be
I'll bolt the plywood to the floor. I'll have some hinges on it near the back so that I can get to the coolers with ease.

Step Three will consist of building a raised platform for the bed and putting the bed in place. I'll have storage room
under the raised platform for Toiletries, camping stuff, kitchen stuff, mobile generator and clothes.

Step Four will be for Various and Sundries: Solar Panel, Power Pack, Chair, Table, Medi-kit, Water purifier and freeze dried meals.
I'll also be taking my iPhone, iPad, iTouch, Garmin Satellite  Communicator, Camera, wireless and wired headphones and non-lethal methods of Protection.

The Mission:
To explore as many National and State Parks as possible, beginning with something local for a "shake down cruise".

I'm not going to lie to you. I'm both NERVOUS and excited. I also want to explore some ghost towns.
One thing I learned on my drive home from Colorado in August of 2020 was that little towns can spring up in the middle of
Nowhere and then die after only a few years. I passed this one place that had just a church and a graveyard left.
More about my Colorado trip later.

That's all for now. :)

I'm once again a one car traveler.
I sold my old 2009 Toyota Corolla this morning for a good price. :)
I'm going to miss that car. She was a good soldier and never gave me any trouble,
even after all the long road trips I took her on.
I took it directly to the bank and made the deposit.
Step Two is tomorrow.
I want to have the car ready in a week.

Here is the Second Life Template for my Mini-camper.
I created everything in this photo except the desk and chair.
The storage bins are color coded: Red - Toiletries and Medical, Blue - Kitchen Stuff, Green - Clothes,
Yellow and Grey - Coolers, Purple  - Chair, Table and Solar Panel.Posted Image

I hope you're planning on sharing images with us along your adventure. Just a helpful hint in photography; the most dramatic images are photographed (usually) in the first hour of sunrise and the hour leading up to sunset. Make sure you visit Bryce Canyon, Zion & Arches National Park in Utah. I've traveled extensively throughout the USA & Canada in 20 years of motorcycling and you never will see everything. There's always something new to bring you to a spiritual awakening along your journey.

Here's one from Arches.

The build for my Mini Camper is complete.
Now I'm waiting for the weather to clear and cool down.
in the meantime, I got myself a fine new cane a couple of weeks ago.
It is a very rare piece and it took me years to find it.

It is my pride and joy.

Yes, I do.
This is a replica of the cane owned by the unfortunate Larry Talbot from the 1941 Universal film, "The Wolf Man".
He goes into an Antique shop and buys this cane not knowing that it will become they key to his destiny.

"Even a man who is pure in heart
And says his prayers by night
May become a wolf when the wolf bane blooms
And the Autumn moon is bright."

Interesting find. I'm not big in old horror movies but film noir/crime dramas from the 30's-50's are my poison of choice.

Indeed, quite interesting. :)
I'd been looking for this cane for about a decade.
It cost me about $700.00.

I had no idea! That's amazing! Since you are family, you can gain access to the Great Mausoleum and go to the crypt where Mr. Chaney is interred.
He is in the Sanctuary of Meditation, C-6407. His parents are interred above him. GPS Coordinates: 34.1224032, -118.2477879

The Journey East: Part 1
Thursday, September 16, 2021.

I got on the road at 9:42 AM and headed out to my first stop which was Rock City on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN.
The view is amazing! You can look out across 7 states: Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.
Getting up to that point was a real challenge for me as the path lead through some boulders which a claustrophobic man like myself
found intimidating.

http://www.mybearcav...st/IMG_3110.JPG

Nonetheless, I made it through. This was my reward:

http://www.mybearcav...st/IMG_1052.JPG

The amazing thing about the entire experience was watching the approach of a storm.
Slowly as it drew closer, the hills and buildings in the distance were lost to view.

http://www.mybearcav...st/IMG_1065.JPG

After the rain, I asked for the quickest way back to where my car was parked. A gentleman told me to take the path used by disabled persons.
Instead of taking me half an hour, it took me only 10 minutes. I got something to eat and I was back on the road again.

To be continued....

The Journey East: Part 2
Saturday, September 18, 2021. 2:30 AM
The 1863 Inn. Gettysburg, PA.

Finding a safe and isolated spot to park and make camp on 9/17 proved to be too difficult, so I continued on to Gettysburg where I checked into the 1863 Inn.
As Agent Cooper said on "Twin Peaks", I found a "comfortable room, reasonably priced". The next morning I got a good breakfast care of the hotel restaurant.
2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, toast with grape jelly, a glass of milk and a glass of orange juice.
Before I went out to the Battlefields, I looked around the neighborhood and saw a building which was scared by a fire which had happened 2 days previously.
One night a man was driving VERY fast trying to make it through the light and lost control of his car. He slammed into the building and the car literally exploded!
As of the time I had gotten there, Forensics was trying to ID the man through dental records...because there wasn't much left. Here is the house:

http://www.mybearcav...st/IMG_1077.JPG

I then began my drive through sections of the battlefield. There was one area where I was going to get out and take some photos, but as soon as I got out
I felt like I was being watched. There was no one around anywhere. I decided to take some photos anyway but to my dismay, the battery was dead.
I left that area and looked around for what the Locals call "Little Round Top. Looking out at the valley below me I could see what the locals call "The Devil's Den".

Respective Photos:

Little Round Top: http://www.mybearcav...st/IMG_3147.JPG

The Devil's Den: http://www.mybearcav...st/IMG_1122.JPG (Many Confederate Soldiers were caught in an ambush here. Bad vibes!)

I am returning to that place in the Spring. I went to the Museum and saw some artifacts that were amazing. One was part of a tree which had been at the scene of one of the battles.
I was going to attempt to describe it, but you have to see it for yourself!

http://www.mybearcav...st/IMG_1082.JPG

I can imagine some of the banter that went on:

Soldier: "They haven't spotted our positions yet, sir."
CO: "They'll get an education in about ten seconds."

To be continued....
