After being referred here by a friend on another forum, I have decided to post my experiences here and see what others think.  Prepare yourself, this is a long post.  And will probably become longer as more stuff happens to me regularly.  Read it in the post below!

Here ya go:

I have seen strange things all my life, starting when I was very young, maybe 6 or so. Since then I've mostly gotten used to it however sometimes it still creeps me out. The following are experiences that I have had with the unknown both in my home and at various places I have worked at. I begin with the most recent, IE last week. Fair warning, this is a LONG post.|

Wednesday I was putting my work things into the car. I turned around to throw something away and turned back in time to see the gas/oil mix container for our weed-eater come flying off the shelf above my car. After cleaning that up and going back inside to wash my hands, when I stepped back out into the garage and reached back to shut the door, I distinctly heard an indistinct whisper followed by a growl.

Thursday morning as I got up to go into work early, as I left my room to go upstairs, I heard what sounded like shuffling coming from behind the curtain that covered the doorway to our laundry and cat area. Of course I assumed it was my kitty and went to the stairs. When I looked up the stairs I saw my cat sitting there staring down at me, this is strange as she usually waits outside my door to meow at me when I get up. I looked around the corner at the cat area at the other end of the basement, by my room, to see what looks like a shadow of a person that then walks through the curtain. Nothing was found when I went to investigate.
Since this all began my cat has been extremely hesitant to stay downstairs for any length of time and when she is let into my room she will pace around for a few seconds then demand to be let out. She will then book it back upstairs.

I have been hearing what sounds like footsteps walking around upstairs when I am home alone. I will of course sneak upstairs to find out what's going on only to find an empty house. On the rare occasions I do manage to get my furbaby to sleep on my bed she will be sitting there then suddenly will snap around and stare at part of the wall/ceiling or will act like she's listening to/watching something.

Whatever it is is more than likely the thing I hear thumping my wall at night (my room is currently in the basement) Other than that it's been docile. Next up is the haunted mall I work at occasionally. This part will be my experiences along with ones from coworkers that verify what I have had happen. The location of this mall is withheld for privacy reasons and to protect the mall itself.

I first started here last year when my company first won the contract. In the beginning we were all alone on night shift. One night, as I sat at our report writing pc, I felt someone looking at me. I had my back to the windows so I turned around. There was a young boy staring in at me. At first I thought nothing of it, just waved and turned back around. Then I remembered a very important fact; our office is on the 2nd story. Needless to say when I turned back around he was gone.

In that first office, before we moved to the main office, if you closed and locked the door you would clearly hear someone knocking on it. If you looked closely enough you could see a shadow through the window. Nobody would ever be there when we opened it however. You can hear children laughing at night when it gets quiet. If you looked across at the next building (outdoor mall) you could occasionally see shadows running back and forth through the vacant upstairs, which is unfinished.

Once we moved into the main area we had less of an issue with the boy. However whilst sitting at the pc there after my coworker had left I heard women talking out in the hall. I thought it was our client coming in so I got up to greet them. There was nobody out in the hallway or in the office. I went out to look for them and clearly saw that the only vehicle anywhere near our office was mine. I blew it off thinking I was tired and went back to the pc. Now it's around 2am at this point. I'm sitting there writing up my nightly report when I clearly hear, right in my ear, a woman's voice asking "Are you ready? I'm ready..." I turned every single light on that I could find and blared music for the rest of the night. No idea what she may have been ready for but I wanted no part of it.

The vacant area under our building, formerly an underage nightclub, has a very negative feel to it. Even in the brightest, sunniest of days if you entered you would immediately feel unwelcome. I went in there once alone by myself at night to check the ambient temperature to make sure the pipes weren't going to freeze as the winter was harsh. I felt nauseous in that building. On my way out I glanced to my left to see a large dark shadow person watching me. As I stared at it, it started moving towards me. I have never moved so fast in all my days. From that moment on I made my coworker/friend (who had seen creepy things as well) accompany me to all of the vacants. We both felt unwelcome in that first vacant but we never saw the shadow dude when we stuck together.

On to the other sightings.
My former boss was walking by the building with the vacant upstairs one day. As he passed by a window he looked up and noticed a young boy standing there staring down at him. He went inside to check and found no sign of anyone within.

The janitor boss-lady pulled into work one morning just before 6am. The mall was completely silent and she was the only person there. As she sat in her car waiting for the clock in time she looked up at the windows (our office building) and saw a young boy running up and down the hallway. She said she grabbed her things, ran inside her office downstairs and locked the door (as if that would stop anything) She called her boss demanding to know what was going on in the building and his response after hearing her story was that they knew about the strange events and had seen them for themselves.

This mall is a very strange place at night. During the day it's very peaceful, except for the shadow man vacant. We are still unsure as to the history of this place and where these spirits arose from.
On to another haunted workplace. Again the location is redacted as the highers ups there refuse to admit to any activity even though some was caught on camera.

I began at this warehouse as a temporary special project overnight guard. My duties were to escort the construction workers around the building and to sit and watch from the golf cart as they rebuilt the conveyor system. The first few nights were peaceful, albeit boring, however in about the middle of the week I started noticing odd things. The lights in the warehouse were motion-activated so most of the place was dark at night to conserve energy. I would notice the lights turn on one by one down an aisle however nobody would ever be visible to me. I ignored this for about an hour when I heard the sound of a woman laughing from behind me. I turned around and at the very end of the shipping area, behind the loading conveyors, I saw a dark figure running back and forth from the dock doors back to the aisle. I watched this for awhile then turned back around, trying to preten

d it hadn't happened. Later on that night, about 0530, I was stationed by the overhead door, waiting for t
he contractors to finish their nightly cleanup. I heard a noise to my left and turned to look. About 20 feet away, standing by a support column, was the same dark figure I had seen at the other end of the building. I could make out no features on it at all, it was simply a solid black figure of a person. As soon as I made a move towards it, it ducked behind the column. I ran over to look and it was gone. There was nothing around for it to hide behind except that column.

Shortly after that I was awarded with a permanent position alternating between the truck entrance and the front desk. The truck entrance was peaceful, never had any issues with it. However the front desk was extremely uncomfortable to be at alone on the weekends, day or night. As the warehouse closed Saturday-Sunday there was no one around except for myself up front and the guard at the truck entrance. It was very common to hear footsteps coming down the hallway to the right of the interior security window. They would stop shortly before a person would normally be seen from the window then turn around and go back down the hall. One day, as I sat at the desk, I heard the footsteps again. After they retreated back down the hall I heard chains being rattled and a crashing noise. After summoning the guard from the gate up front I went back to find that the chain-link gate that closed off the kitchen area had been ripped open and has partially hanging from its track. That gate was
normally alarmed yet no alarm ever sounded that day.

Another day I was by myself, Thanksgiving actually so I was annoyed at being at work rather than with my family. The footsteps started up again. I was already irritated so I yelled at them to stop, that nobody cared about it and that it was getting annoying hearing it wander around. The sounds stopped dead. Whilst I was congratulating myself on stopping it something black crashed into the window facing the parking lot. I ran over to the window but saw nothing, no dead birds that could've caused it or anything. I backed up to my chair, watching the window the entire time. As I sat down I turned to my right and froze. There, in the interior area behind the security glass where the employees enter, was the same dark man. As I looked at it, it started beating on the security glass, almost like it was punching it. I covered my head and yelled out that I was sorry I yelled at it. When I looked back up it was gone, then I heard the footsteps retreating back down the hallway. |

Never a
gain did I yell at it or any other thing I heard. That was enough of a warning for me.
Now for one of the earliest experiences in my current house, the one I now sleep in the basement of. Before I was in the basement my room was upstairs on the front corner. I was on my computer watching videos when I heard a woman humming, almost singing, coming from my left. I didn't think to much of it at first as the window is there. I thought someone was walking by. My cat, who was curled up on my bed, suddenly sat bolt upright staring at the heating vent on the floor. She then ran out the bedroom door into the living room.

I got up and went out to find all three cats, mine and my parents two, sitting lined up in front of the open basement door staring downstairs at the spare room. My cat, who was on the end, kept looking back and forth from me to the stairs, as if trying to tell me something. I ran back in my room, shut the door and blared music until my parents got home. Shortly after moving to the basement, my cousin and my young nephew were over. We decided to play hid
e and seek to help keep my nephew entertained. My cousin decided to hide in the spare room whilst I went for the cat area. 5 seconds go by and my cousin comes flying out of the spare room cursing, saying that something had whispered his name into his ear.

I understand why you wont name the mall...but it would be interesting to look into its history or make a visit if that was available.

OK, so I opened the inside door to my garage to leave for work.  When I turned on the light, right by my car was Shadow Man.  He vanished right after we noticed each other.  This is a little too close to home for my tastes.  I came back home at about 1130pm.  My nephew, who was sleeping in his crib, suddenly woke up and when I walked in to check on him he was looking behind me into the hallway crying hysterically.  I whipped around and didn't see anything but when my nephew got more worked up and scared I got mad.  I looked around the room and said "I don't know who you are or where the hell you came from but you need to leave him the **** alone."  My nephew was whimpering a bit still so I broke my own rule and yelled "I. Said. GET OUT!"  My nephew was calm after that.  After making sure he was alright I asked my mom, who died in 2013, to come back for a bit and watch over him.  Hopefully she heard me.  Myself, I'm not so concerned about.  But my nephew is only about 18 months old.  Messing with kids is NOT alright.

I'm surprised no one has attempted to help. Usually people do on here. I'm the one that recommend Kriak come here for help.

It would be really great if you guys could pitch in with helpful hints since he really does need help. Thanks.

Kriak, I wasn't willing to answer on the other forum because they're so sensitive there that I didn't know if a discussion of ghosts might make someone angry and then we both would get banned.

The first thing is that we need to eliminate anything real that might be causing these problems. The thing is, sounds like growls and scratches and the like can be caused by animals nearby, or even a human playing a practical joke on you. It can also be caused by just plain being tired, drunk, or even using medication. My husbands grandmother had been on xanax for so long that taking her off it resulted in massive hallucinations where she was convinced people were watching her through the ceiling vents in her bedroom. Long story for why she was taken off it, and let's just say that the family was livid the nursing home did that.

Once you've eliminated the possibility of something real (like someone living in your crawlspace and messing with your head. Don't laugh, it's actually happened. You can just google it. Horrible) you can start to look at other possibilities.

Alot of things can stir up mad off spirits.
Are you new to the house?
Is there is a new arrival in the house that hadn't been there before (a new baby or an elderly person for example)?
Are you doing any renovations?
Did you bring home an antique or something from another home around the time this all began? Estate sales can seem like gold mines but sometimes the items have a spirit attached.
Do you have a child in the home that is close to puberty?
Is there a sensitive in your home? Trust me, the person that is sensitive will KNOW it. It's hard to avoid. Though they may not know what to call it.

If there is an item, get rid of it. Because the spirit is attached to the item. Alot of the above can actually wee off spirits that already exist in the home when it has been otherwise dormant. A child reaching puberty means their bodies are going haywire and they are vulnerable emotionally and mentally so a spirit can be drawn to the volnerability.

The thing about a kid in puberty is that eventually they grow out of it and it stops. Though you will have to suffer it in the meantime.

Pay attention to the cats, they will always know things you don't. They seem to be attuned to something that we humans aren't. So far they seem to mostly be staring. If they start hissing and running away, things may be escalating.

You likely have a cell phone, so when the lights are off in the house, you need to run around taking pictures. Do this many nights in a row because you will catch nothing more often or not. Snap a picture when the cats are acting weird. If you catch anything, post it here for us to see. It may be paradoila and the people here are pretty good at picking it out, but it may be more than that.

DO NOT speak to the spirits unless you have no other choice. DO NOT use a ouija board. And be VERY careful about bringing in a spiritual group fr help from the outside, sometimes it stirs the spirits up. The camera is a passive form of detection so shouldn't cause a problem. The others are active forms and could cause you problems.

A few more suggestions before I let you go... salt is your best friend. Nearly every spirituality in the world sees salt as a purifying and protection agent. A spirit should not be able to cross it. Doorways, window ledges, etc.

Are you religious in any way? Some people find their religious beliefs to be helpful. If not, I have other suggestions to help but I don't want to offend any beliefs you have.

A bit religious.  As to your questions, no to all of them.  Although I'm not sure on the sensitive one.  I had a strange dream last night that ties into this.  I dreamed that I was standing by my nephews crib.  The shadow man came out of his closet and was attacking us.  I remember feeling scared but still defending my nephew.  It had me by the throat and I felt nothing but evil from it.  My mom, who died in 2013, was suddenly standing next to me, protecting me.  I woke up thrashing around.  Still feel fear when I think about it.  It could have just been a dream but I've never had one like that before.

I've seen three shadow ghosts in my life. Only one ever gave me a bad feeling and it had glowing red eyes. The other two looked like people. None of them ever did anything to me or anyone I know.

Try to calm down. I know it's scary, but the more scared it can make you the more energy you give off so it can absorb it to further it's own existence if that is what it is doing.

We are all a bit sensitive, some more than others. Fear makes us more likely to see things we normally wouldn't, including making us more aware of our surroundings. As we grow up, we learn to ignore most things. Sometimes circumstances make us more alert.

The shadow man came out of his closet? Perfect place for a salt line all around the inside. Start with the doorway and work your way around the inside so it can't escape.

I do have suggestions from other faiths that might help. I really don't believe in any of the abrahamic religions so that won't help. Spirituality I can understand, organized religion I have a serious problem with. And I do not believe in a deity. But all of existence is made up of energy. Even matter is just a form of energy. Everything is connected to each other. The actions and beliefs of the person serve to focus your own energy, in this to combat the intruder. Things like salt are tools, nothing more and nothing less. But tools can be incredibly useful and will allow you to accomplish tasks you couldn't otherwise. I hope that makes sense.

You being only a bit religious may mean that your focus will not have the energy needed to remove the entity from your home. It means that your religion likely will not help.

I do have some suggestions that may help, but you need to be open to them for them to work. Things like casting a protective barrier around the room and around the house and how to push the entity out. Demanding it leave likely will only make it angry or it will think you funny. Either way, the activity will probably increase.

Hey, I'm willing to try anything.  As I said before, not worried about myself, but it's scaring my nephew pretty badly.  He'll stare behind me and start screaming hysterically at night sometimes.  Of all the things I have seen in my life, seeing that thing come out of his closet is the most terrifying thing I have experienced up til now.

Kriak,

I'm sorry but I'm thinking your write-up/description is not getting the attention it deserves. It's just too long and most folks are not willing to dedicate that much time. I haven't even been able to make it through the whole thing yet, myself. And it's been up for 9 days.

So I'm wondering if you might consider posting a fresh new topic with an abbreviated write-up. Maybe just three paragraphs?  .......and then we could link to this one for the full account. Just tell us your main concern on one location to start with like, office or home. and then a list of what the haunting consists of. I think it will work out better that way if you are willing.

Oh, and thanks to Moiraesfate for all that she has shared... that was great!

Let me know your thoughts, Kriak  :)

Hi Kriak,

Sorry, I've been busy.

Take the little one and any animals far away from the property before you do any of the following. Keep in mind that the spirits may try to resist all of this. Your own personal strength is very important. You cannot let them get to you. You need to be strong emotionally and mentally.

If you feel that it may have power, boil pine needles and salt in a big pot. Both are said to banish negativity and protect. Then wipe down different areas of the house with the mixture. Not only does it smell nice, but the effect should remain until you wipe it off with water and soap.

You an also use a sage smudge stick. After it's lit, walking through the house with it, so that the smoke covers the whole house and telling it to leave may help. Don't demand though, that will probably make the spirits angry. Say something like "This is our home now, it is time for you to leave. So long as we remain in this house, you cannot cross. Do it on your car too so it can't follow you to work or anywhere else you go. Sage is used in many native american traditions and is considered beneficial, though Wiccans and other religions use it too. You can buy a smudge stick at any occult store or even online. You can buy sage incense but it's generally considered not at good as the real thing.

Keep in mind that the spirits may try to resist all of this. Your own personal strength is very important. You cannot let them get to you. You need to be strong emotionally and mentally. The finally step. Keep in mind, I'm an atheist that believes we have the power to control the energy around us. So the words I'm going to give you don't really matter. They only have the power you feel they do, but they do serve to focus the energy to perform what you need done.

You are going to cast a circle. The circle is said to be the most powerful symbol in the world. It is why we wear wedding rings. Because it is a symbol of an unbreakable and unending bond. It's something that has passed down from ancient times long before the advent of christianity. But its only called "casting a circle". What you are actually going to do is place a protective sphere of energy around the house.

Walk out your front door until you feel that you will roughly create a circle when you walk around the house and join up at the front again. Call upon any spirits that may exist (this could honestly be anything depending on your belief system. Angels for the christians, the spirits of the elements for the pagans, etc). Now you need to concentrate. Call upon them asking for their protection for your family and your home. That only the living may pass the line you walk. You need to focus, Hard. And start to walk. Keep calling on them. And see in your minds eye an intense strong energy appearing behind you with each step. It glows with power and strength. Continue to call upon the spirits while you walk around the house. Just before you come to the spot where you began, stretch out with your own mind. You will find the spirit if he's still there. You need to use your own energy to grab him and shove him out the finally small point in the circle. Push him out, and take the final step to close the powerful circle you just walked. Now walk back inside to the center of your home. Point to the sky and say "as above", then point to the earth and say "so below" and see in your minds eye the circle joining to a sphere both above and below the house. The house is now sealed. It SHOULD stay that way until you decide to end it or you pass away. The circle is tied to you.

Keep in mind, this is not 100%. I have seen a spirit break a circle before. It was not a good spirit. But there was alot of very bad stuff going on at the time. I lost three of my family members in two different car accidents, and nearly my sister in one as well (took her years to recover). My first married was crashing and burning and this thing had been following him for years. The circle was cast because I believed that it was using it's own powers to heighten our anger to each other and feeding on the energy.  And I started failing university in a big way.

That's why I say that it's tied to you. If you feel that others may help you, this will make the circle stronger so that it doesn't just rely on you but this kind of thing tends to scare some people even though you aren't hurting anything or anyone.

It's up to you if you follow my suggestions. I hope it helps. If you don't feel it will, then feel free to disregard it.
