Hi, for the past few weeks I've been working on 3d model / recreation of the Amityville horror house.
Using references from the 70's time period I'm aiming to make the model as fully explorable interior/exterior as close to the real location as possible.
I will try to update fairly regular as the model progresses and I explore the environment, below are some work in progress / early renders of what I've done so far.Any questions or feedback feel to ask away.

Indeed, great work! The last one looks like you used the famous photo with the investigator peering out from the door on the left

That's roughly what I based it on,tried to get camera in similar position and added some grain to make it look more like a photo.Been playing around with some renders in that style but will probably work better once everything's textured and all the furniture is added in.

Finished up a lot of the interior today, added the fireplace roughly and worked on the livingroom a bit.Next place to start is the basement I think.
Another random render-

Excellent, Crash... glad you moved it to it's own topic. It's going to be amazing to watch as you progress. Can't wait to see it when the furniture is added!  :)

Been working hard on this the last few days, took a look at the scale much closer and made some big changes throughout the whole model as well as adding the basement stairs, walls, the boathouse and dining room interior are also progressing. Some things I noticed are the fireplace and dinning room cabinet haven't been removed since the 70's (they appear in the newer house sale photos). Next step is finishing the basement ceiling and building up some detail in each room.

Here's some more renders,I usually do a few after a bit of progress just to see how it looks and is progressing.

I'm blown away by all the detail!

Like I said before, it hurts my mind to even consider how you can accomplish all of this. Especially in a short space of time!
Please continue to take us with you on this journey..... it's fascinating!

Did you look through all the modern photos I posted on GhostStudy? There are many of them from a real estate agency!  :)

Yeah I found those pics on your site,it was one of the newer photos that made me realise my scale was a bit off and showed more ceiling beams in the living room also which I added. I'm using the photo of the boat interior as a reference for my model also but I noticed it was a mostly or total rebuild. I'm also going to put the model into a game engine maybe in a day or 2 and see what the scale is like 'walking around',I tried it before an was so cramped.

Sorry, I got distracted.... there's a scary monster bug on Kevin's post (above) ready to pounce on me! .....yikes.  :)

Crash... since the Amityville House is for sale again... maybe you could ask permission to gather some measurements for your project? Oh, and if you need an assistant to tag along, I think I can make myself available.  ;)

I'm in the wrong country sadly to even take a look at the outside, would be interesting for sure  - the measurements I've looked at online aren't correct when you look at them detail and try to model from them.
Had another few hours yesterday of discovering that and changing the model exterior / walls interior again!. I saw it come up that it was for sale last night, that's some funny timing,if it's featured in the Conjuring 2 I guess it might boost the house interest also.

Well, I'm 3000 miles away myself... so I'm in the same boat, so to speak.
The Conjuring 2 comes out June 10th... I can't wait!
