Slow progress this week,I've been uv mapping the model ready for texturing which is taking forever with all the various parts and exporting back and forth into the game engine to see if its all working.
I did a little work on textures and a few lighting tests  as I went but this is all temporary because will have to re-import the final version and set it all up from scratch when I hit the full texturing stage.

These are some game engine test shot's I took as I was working,At the moment not all the materials (carpet types, wallpapers etc have been created and the final lighting setup will be at night-

It's more amazing than ever... nice work!
I must say though, I have a bit of a problem with the wall colors. But it still looks great!

There's one thing I'm trying to figure out maybe someone knows. In the parents / master bedroom there are photos of the bed against a mirrored wall, but it seems like the mirror covers an entire window facing over the sunroom?! Does anyone know if this is correct?.

The second issue I've found is in the basement, several of the small windows at ground level are blocked inside if you look at images of the pool room in the basement.
My guess is these are ventilation rather than windows since they have vents along the floors in part of the basement.

The creepy windows look great! And I love the reflection from the one on the wall... very nice.

When the new occupants moved in, they didn't want the house associated with the Amityville Horror. So they hired a crew to replace the two windows. So from what I read, the crew broke up the old windows and through them in a waste bin and hauled them to the dump! I can only imagine what those windows would have sold for back then, or even now! They could have been in a museum somewhere or even on display at an amusement park. What a loss.

Some more pics, finishing up some of the first pass of getting the house model ready for texturing.Next few days should be working on getting all the walls textured and sorting anything I've missed.
Screenshots are tests from the game engine showing the foyer, basement and sunroom.

Thanks!.

Not the most interesting update, still updating / exporting and trying to smooth out a lot of the glitches the lighting causes before I work on final textures. It's a annoying process but the aim is to have a more realistic lighting that bounces around and reflects. I've also been updating the model as I go and making the wallpaper textures for the bedrooms (just missing one room now).

The basement and the room with the "eyes" windows... my two favorites!
It still hurts my brain to figure out how you do all this. I know you have some brilliant software, but still!
Keep up the amazing work and please continue to keep us updated... love it!

I'm pretty much finished laying all the texture maps out so will be moving onto proper lighting, materials and landscape stage and working on filling the house to make it feel lived in. It should looked more worn and lived in once that's all done.

Small update but ton of progress. I've been getting the surrounding landscape in place and some props are starting to get added to each room (bathrooms, curtains and kitchen units) but lighting isn't in place yet to really show. There is some interaction now though, working doors and windows and you can pull open all the drawers in the kitchen and have a look as well as light switches.

Here's a couple of screengrabs (bit stylised looking because the actual scene is pretty darkly lit).

I was looking forward to this new update!

I am amazed at the last three pictures... especially the last one! I can easily imagine me being there. The darkness, stars and trees bring it all to life! Did I already say that the last is my very favorite! Love the stars and the shadows. ; )

Thanks for this recent update

Thanks Jim!,it's slow work but enjoying it and learning lots more about the game engine (Unreal 4).Think I might need to add the house's at either side at some point (or a ton of fog!)but it's starting to come together.
I've set up a Facebook page for the project if anyone's into that it can be found here - https://www.facebook...07790356077477/ will be updating that regularly as well.

It's computer generated,for a game.

Thanks for the comments, not a lot to update at the moment - been working on the lighting system still and a few bugs and things that needed changed. Should be getting the master bedroom filled with props in the next week and I think the bathrooms will be the first rooms finished.

Image from last week I forgot to post showing some progress in the sun-room,added (rough) curtains and the bar / sink.

Will we be able to buy the game someday?
Will it be in the stores?
And are you doing this own your own or working for a software company?
Just very curious.  :)
