Hey guys!  Been a while since I've posted...
This photo I've attached is not mine, but I am interested in your opinions, which I'll share with the owner.  Apparently it was taken at a group home for young, unwed mothers.  The home was not a nice place, the girls were mistreated.  I guess this photo was taken after the building was abandoned.  A lady visited that used to live there, heard a noise and took a flash photo.
I believe this must be some sort of object in the photo, and I'm sure it's dusty and whatnot... but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is!!  Any ideas?

That's a creepy photo capture!

There's just too much blur for me to come up with any kind of determination. But if it was actually a clear shot, we might just be talking about something truly scary.

Thanks for sharing the photo, Crystal.  :)

Have to agree with Jim, a sharp detailed well exposed image without motion blur would allow a credible analysis.

At first glance I saw a person and their shadow but I think it may be a piece of furniture.

Do you have any other photos? Have you searched online to see if anyone has posted other photos of this building?

Weird capture! But I think it is a broken chair. You can see two legs top right. With the flood of books and stuff around it, and the building abandoned, just saying.

God Bless

Overturned chair or table with a blanket/tablecloth or something hanging off it.

Thanks all!!  Sorry, no other photos as it isn't mine.  I had the chair/ old blanket or cloth theory as well.  I just had to share and see if anyone else said it- it certainly does have a creepy feel to it.

Hi Crystal good to see you again! It looks like a large shadowy figure crawling onto the bed, or looking over it. Could be the blanket/chair theory for sure, but it gives me the creeps either way!

Okay... if we're going in that direction...then I think it could very well be a man with a blanket over him and sitting in a chair/stool facing our direction. And he seems to be looking/leaning to the right (his left) at the pile of junk. I also think he's in his underwear and his legs are bare, hence the needed blanket. The enhanced version seems to shed more detail. And another scenario might suggest the man has a child with an outstretched arm sitting on his lap. Look closely and you'll see what I'm talking about.

And just for fun, The man seems to be staring at a large elongated white face.  :)

I think the object, that I circled, could be a trash bag.

I'm still thinking blanket. I see the same coloring on his shoulder as well.

When I first looked at the picture, the first thing in mind was a blanket thrown over an object. Combination of trash and furniture with a blanket can make for a creepy side effect, especially if one is allready spooked by odd noises. Looking at the mess she possibly herd a rodent or a pest that took residence in the building. I say blanket.

This image is 200% the original using pixel enlargement.

A couple of facts derived from the EXIF.

Date of creation: January 25, 2012 at 3:41:57 AM

Resolution:  960 x 538 qHD
This resolution became popular for high-end smartphone displays in early 2011. Most commonly found high-end smartphone displays in early 2011. Mobile phones including the Jolla, Sony Xperia C, HTC Sensation, Motorola Droid RAZR, LG Optimus L9, Microsoft Lumia 535 and Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini have displays with the qHD resolution, as does the PlayStation Vita portable game system. * Note qHD was actualy 960 x 540. This was the closest format I could find for the actual resolution but the time frame does seem to fit.

I won't comment what I see because it's pure speculation. All I can suggest is the image was likely shot with an onboard flash using a smartphone (see above) (according to timestamp) but still captured motion blur. .I suspect auto settings dragged the shutter.judging by the time of capture. I have color corrected as best as possible and adjusted the exposure along with noise reduction. I was unable to remove any motion blur or out of focus blur. I have a plugin for Photoshop for that task but it's a gamble on how well it works. Each sample is different with effectiveness. Most of the EXIF data was stripped from this image file. Hope this little information helps those seeking answers.

When I ran it through ImageEdited? it said that the EXIF data was stripped, because the image was from Facebook.
