Is there any literature on this subject?

Human perception (and how it can be hacked) has been a major focus of study in both the classical sciences and 'mystery schools' or occult. No shortage of literature there. As for stories of dragons casting spells on people, plenty of material there as well.

I know I'm tired, I read "people used to think that there was a god of lightning and thunder named Thor too."

and my first thought was "HEy! it's COOL, he's my friend from work!"

Dragon Fact from Fiction #1

Treasure-Hoarding

Q: Is it true dragons curl-up for 100-year naps on piles of precious metals, jewels and artifacts?
A: No, but it is true they gather to themselves great wealth and guard it, so in this sense real dragons can be said to lay on or 'sit on' piles of treasure. Unlike fictional dragons though, who don't do anything with all that treasure besides sleep on it and wait for brave knights etc to show up, real dragons understand it's monetary value and will put their money to work for them. They're good investors.

Q: So it's true, dragons really do like shiny stuff? (gold coins, goblets inlaid with rare gems, fancy jewelry etc)
A: Yes, but again this has much more to do with appreciating the monetary value of 'shiny stuff' (appreciating what they can accomplish with their wealth) than them simply being enamored by how shiny 'shiny stuff' is lol.

Q: What do they value most in their dragon piggy banks?
A: As far as raw materials go, gold.

Q: Why?
A: I have a sense (and have some ideas) of why this is but I admit I don't entirely understand it. It's for reasons that go beyond gold's beauty and market value. Gold is unique in some important way that makes it particularly well-suited for...(?)

Are we still talking reptiles or do you use the word "dragon" as a metaphor for businessman?

As per the title of my post, I'm attempting to explain the truth contained within the fiction. In this case, while dragons don't spend their days napping on mounds of gold coins, it's true that dragons effectively amass and direct (and so for all practical purposes can be said to 'own') vast sums of wealth through their human agents and representatives.

Real life dragons control a lot of resources, which, as any intelligent being with a modicum of business sense would do, they put to work for them. As dragons control a lot of resources, they have a lot influence in human financial markets.

I wish to talk about dragon fact versus fiction, not name individuals.
