Night had fallen once again on the little town of Twin Peaks.
In the quarter of a century that had passed since the murder of High School Homecoming Queen Laura Palmer, very little had changed.
There were small changes. People had either moved away or passed on.
Pete Martell died in the explosion at the bank.
Lucy Moran and Deputy Andy Brennan got married and had 2 children.
Sarah Palmer moved into a nice duplex apartment formerly belonging to one Harold Smith.
Ronette Pulaski made a full recovery from her trauma at the hands of Leland Palmer and afterward, quietly moved away.
The body of Josie Packard was returned to Japan and cremated there. Her spirit however was still trapped in a wooden drawer pull in a room at the Great Northern Hotel where some guests, either gifted or cursed could hear her cries of torment in dark dreams.
Annie Blackburn recovered from her physical wounds sustained in the Black Lodge, but the emotional and mental wounds ran deeper and were harder to heal. After coming out of her coma, what family she had came and took her away.
Now, the wind was blowing through the leaves and branches of the Douglas Furs. Clouds skittered over the sky hiding the full moon every now and then.
The population of the town stood at 51,201...just as it had 25 years earlier.
Jupiter and Saturn were in conjunction and the traffic light at the corner of Sparkwood and 21 changed from red to green.
Everything was once again in flux.
