What Is Your Secret Passion?

Mine is Lionel trains. My grandfather bought his first set new in 1947. He had them his entire life, collecting and expanding his little world as time and money allowed. It was never very fancy, but it suited him just fine. When I was a little guy, grandpa always took me to train shows and shops to see what was out there. He always bought me lunch to keep me from telling grandma how much we spent. Now that they are both gone, I have inherited his collection. I have spent a considerable amount of time and a small chunk of money to get his equipment restored and add to it, roughly doubling the size of the collection.
Why don’t I discuss it? There is a shop about 15 minutes from my house. At 41, I am the youngest customer in there every. Single. Time. People my age don’t seem to be attached to stuff like this. I am not embarrassed of it, I just have anyone to really discuss it with. Thank goodness for message boards!

I understand why you keep it to yourself. People are scared of things that they don’t understand instead of opening up their minds!

Who knows if we are all supposed to understand things like that. I mean, just as some people experience paranormal encounters frequently and others literally never do, I feel like not everything is meant to be shared by everyone.
When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time running the trains. Now, I get more enjoyment out of track layout, wiring, etc., while my nephews run them.

Inner peace...you find the secret, let me know! Actually, I feel like each of us has our own secret to happiness. When the cliche line "what's the meaning of life?" is asked, I don't think each of us should have the same answer. And the cause of inner peace is the same. We all have our own peace!

Light and Shadow. A place where the line is blurred between both worlds.
Nothing is as it seems. Shadow doesn't always mean evil and light doesn't always mean divine.

I would be impressed to see nature that I can't see here. When I was visiting Florida, I spent most of my time staring up at palm trees!

Quality over quantity is something we should all prioritize in friendships. I have had the same friends for 35 years, and there aren't a lot of them, but I know exactly what I am getting every time!
