My wife and youngest child went with her parents, brother and his family to her parents lake house on Lake Corpus Christi this past weekend.  They had an exciting day of fishing (running trot lines) and had caught a 5' 82lb alligator gar.  Their boat did not get properly tied up to the dock late that afternoon.  No one noticed the boat had  floated off about 50 yds from the dock until it was much later in the evening.  My brother in law and his son took the small aluminum boat out so my brother in law could drive the big boat back.  My wife takes lots of pictures at all family functions.  Too many to be honest.  She took a picture of her brother as he pulled back into the dock.  Let me be clear...he was in the boat alone.  She took the pic with her galaxy s4 phone.  The middle window was folded over and in front of the passenger window.  You can see my brother in laws left leg and left arm as he was sitting in the captains chair.  He was not standing.

She did not look at the pictures until the night before last.  We were both very shocked at what we see.  I talked to my brother in law yesterday and asked if she showed him the pic.  She had not.  I explained what I see and he was freaking out.  I sent him the pic and now he is REALLY freaking out!!!  He doesn't do well with ghosts / alien pictures / movies / stories.  He did not feel anything out of the ordinary while on the boat.  There were a total of 6 dogs there and not one of them was barking at anything unseen.  The only odd behavior of any dog was my pit bull who loves running around and playing with all the dogs was always at my wife's side 95% of the time (as my wife told me ...since I had to work and could not go).  He is a house dog, but not allowed on the furniture...ever.  He sleeps in her room at night and he kept jumping on the bed and was not keen on getting down (she had to drag him off the bed once).  But that was it.  Nothing has ever happened at this house or property that was odd, strange or un-explainable.

Please share your thoughts on the pic.

The picture certainly looks bizarre but is so out of focus it's impossible to tell what's really going on with it!

Agreed.  I was bummed out that my wife was using the zoom on her camera after dark that allowed it to be so fuzzy.  This is the first and only time we have ever seen something strange in any picture we have taken.  I wish it would have been better.  Cant wait until we go down there again.  I plan to take LOTS of pics hoping we can catch something in a photo again

Since I don't know exactly what you mean, could you give me a hint? As someone mentioned, the picture is blurry, but I feel I am missing something somewhere.

If you're referring to the driver of the boat. I know it looks funny. but if you correct the color a tad and zoom in, there really is no reason to think it would be paranormal. It's a out of focus image take in low light with motion blur.

Here is what I'm referring to.

Here is the original with some minor color corrections.

Thanks CDS... I'm wondering if Louczar is referring to an image in front of the brother-in-law? Because it does look to me like a figure standing at an angle right in front of the driver. It really does, and it puts a whole new meaning on this photo as far as I'm concerned. The driver's head wouldn't be that high either. I'm thinking we could actually have something here. :o  ..........either that or he's holding up a dummy.

Here's a fuzzy enlargement that I came up with to illustrate the separate beings

I figure it's either a ghost or his girlfriend on his lap.

I'm thinking it's the driver with an odd effect/object. Her sleeve is yellow, as is the bulk of the "figure"  The dark area could be her hair, or something in either the background or foreground

It does look like a dog being held. And there were six dogs, at least on one of the two boats.

I see the dog clearly. The image does look strange now that I know what to look for. If the shoulder of the arm around the dog is correct, the height of the body from shoulder to head looks off. It is almost like someone is in front of him with their back tothe camera. I can't see the driver's face where it should be. Looks like two people (and a dog!) goofing off! If you are certain the boat driver was alone... I don't know. It's strange

Was the boat driver wearing a hat perhaps? sunglasses propped on the bill? Maybe looking down at the controls?

Mortimer... you're right. The head should be exactly where you placed the X..!  And now that I think about it, you must be right about the 'figure' being in front of the driver with it's back to the camera. Your observation makes sense!

Now I'm wondering about the shadows that are wrapped around the ghostly figure and the man. It seems to go over the shoulder and around the man's knee. And then behind his leg!

That is a bit of a strange photo once the standing figure is pointed out.  I'm sure it's nothing.

While cell phone cameras are getting better and better, (heck they're now better than the first few digtal cameras I had) they are pretty much "automatic everything" and there is a lot that can mess up photos going on....

I think this is a long exposure and motion blur effect, both images are actually the driver and cover him both standing, sitting and maybe bent or leaning forward to pick up something or to get a closer look at something.

The effect is even more confusing because of it's adapting to the low light situation, and the zoom (which makes every little motion or photo issue magnified) , I THINK the "dog face" might just be the top of his head/ hat as he's bend over (possibly for a very short time)  with maybe sun glasses tucked up on top of his head/ hat.

I've got the same kind of phone, and it takes great photos, provided it isn't dark, or using the zoom/ telephoto, and dark with zoom I'm not going to trust anything that seems to show up on the photo no matter how odd it is.

Also "dogs not freaking out" seem to indicate nothing particularly odd is going on. :D  IMHO.

I'm not really seeing the typical characteristics of any significant motion blur. At least not to the degree that would cause this effect. I would expect at the very least, some motion streaks. The lights in the front of the boat would be the leading indicator of motion but very little is seen there as well. The streaks from the lights seem normal under the circumstances presented at night. Everything is just fuzzy from dark conditions and from the zoom feature being activated in my opinion. I'll see if I can come up with a better close-up of the proposed dog head.

I think it's a pretty cool capture!
