The YouTube channel for the series 'The Haunting' puts out their free full episodes every so often. This one I just watched recently, and it leads me to voice a strong opinion I have regarding paranormal investigations.
I think the best and most successful way to conduct a paranormal investigation besides the obvious of capturing evidence is to help the trapped spirits move on, and to banish any negative entities if it can be done.
Without revealing too much of the episode, the end is left on an ambiguous anti-climax. No amazing revelation, no moving on of spirits. It's rather sad to see they're still likely trapped there today.

The show is also available OnDemand if you have Comcast, likely other places too. Not sure if I've seen the episode mentioned but I have a bunch on my DVR I haven't gotten to yet

Thanks for popping on the tread I forgot all about watching it. I hope you find a working link. Finally I am half way through; the thing that sticks out to me is the paranormal investigator wasn't very well prepared spiritually to deal with what ever is connected to the house, although, maybe something was done outside the house. Spoiler alert; so not surprised the spirit of the young girl is still connected to the house! I will continue with the video!
Addit: Ok now.... just disregard what I said they are doing the protection prayer
