Has anyone here ever used one of these things? I'm having a hard time taking it seriously with how ridiculous it looks, Is this thing legit?

I avoid Huff Paranormal at all costs. The operative words "All Costs" are completely appropriate.

I saw a video.   I was singularly unimpressed with the shack hack with all the blinking lights on it.

LOL! Right, why does it look like a cheesy prop from a 1950's sci fi movie.

The sounds that come from it are all echoey and distorted, and easy to take as certain words. It does seem really gimmicky.

Paranormal Lockdown has been using it, and I was kind of bummed to see Steve Huff show up for a bit in last night's show with some variations on it for them to try. It did seem that some words were really clear, and relevant to the situation, and kept addressing people by their names. But this is TV so I dunno.

And yeah, Steve Huff does seem pretty weasely

I seem to be at a disadvantage, who is Steve Huff and why all the negative sounding responses? First time I ever saw him was on last nights show.

He has a rep as being tasteless at best, and huckster. He urged people to try and contact Debbie Constantino via EVP immediately after her murder because "chances of contact are best immediately after death". He just wants people to buy his crap devices

Meh I don't know I think he believes in what he's doing  There's just no way I'd fork out $1500 for one of these :faint:

Also I still remember seeing him sell "EM pumps" for either $50 or $100 ... I don't recall exactly how much but it's a lot especially when you realize the components are just $1 or $2 ... $5 tops if you buy everything from Radio Shack.

Nick is a super nice guy. I have to admit this is not one of the better toys he uses......... a lot. The xmas lights alone make it silly. Agreed why the retro thing and for me the 1500 CDN price tag. No that is OK. If I want something that doesn't work but yields results every time I 'll just use a free ovulous app.
This season especially they are bringing out a lot of toys. That really don't help integrity. Too bad of the shows I do still enjoy Lockdown for his level of sincerity

Oh I'm sure Nick is a decent guy  he's just marching to the beat of a different drum ... I'm thinking marimba ... if people want to buy a wunderbox that's up to them and if he gets funding to do what interests him in the field then good for him  I'm just not a fan of what he considers "evidence" ... IF the results intrigued me enough I could ... atleast in theory ... put up with the xmas lights ... but mostly I just don't think it works

Also I like the ovulous  type apps  I even wrote my own :bunny:

Oh have you seen Kindred Spirits with Amy Bruni and Adam Berry? I've been busy and only watched the first couple shows BUT it's quite good  Sort of a back to basics and just helping people out.

I don't agree with most of what Nick considers evidence, it's a show to me. Kindred Spirits, meh. Never was fond of either of them myself.  It is produced very well and to each his own as to what show folks care for.
They are shows in the end.

I'm ovbiously maybe a bit biased on GH. The last TAPS management chatter I had heard was they are searching for another network. Most of the "stars" are doing lots of appearances. Jason is on a podcast and what not.
I worry for it frankly a lot of nails over the years were put in that casket and they, though IMO was the better show. Became somewhat un relevant. GAC and so on seemed to have more drama.

There has been a lot of tripe on over the years. I'm hooking up with a few of the Deep South Paranormal guys in Oct, hope they are nice. They had a show for 6 eps. Like most.

I'm pretty close to a number of those productions, may be a good thread.

Oh yeah I liked that show  It had a good and interesting different style that seemed a little odd but all came together rather well. I had hoped that series and Ghost Mine would get renewed though I mostly just liked the Ghost Mine redhead
