I do love some of the content he's written over the years.  Supposedly he lost his mind though in the process.  I've read it can happen to anyone.   What do you think about Crowley?

Funnily enough, I've been reading up on him lately. He was an eccentric guy but a lot of his ideas made sense too.
We have such sights to show you!

I use "Thoth" tarot deck by Aleister Crowley and the Opening Of The Key (OOTK) Tarot spread when reading cards.

He likely lost his mind through the "process of drug addiction" would be more accurate. He was a scientist and genius but his own personal struggle with heroin in particular was a contributing factor to his madness and downfall. I know a couple of people that are no longer on this earth because of that particular poison. It will change you and turn you into another person, one that will affect the lives of others in a very negative way including your own, that is, if you live to tell the story.

As odd as it sounds, back in Crowley's day (before the ban) heroin was sold to Americans as a nonaddictive alternative to morphine.

Got a headache? A cough? A cold? No problem, here's 'heroin(e)'

to save the day.

Drugs are a contribution as well.  But I believe that when you're completing your journey metaphysically and psycho-spiritually, you'll gain abilities and will be able to sense entities that can drive you mad in the course of your path.  Some call them Djinns, inorganic beings or Archons, mentioned in the Nag Hammadi.

In instances such as this, I have relied solely on researchers digesting the information and presenting it. I have heard enough, like what some of the acts his rituals required, etc to know I will never directly read his materials.

Your post reminded me one very resonant Russian poltergeist case called "Fotyma" which took place in the little town Svetlyj in Tomskaya oblast during 1998-2000. Poltergeist liked to read, and Alister Crowley became one of his favorites. One day poltergeist "Fotyma" had a dialogue with the journalist  (yes, he was very talkative) in Russian (Google automatic translation into English):

"
- Each person is God and a star.  But when a person cheats and lies to himself, departs from his essence, he becomes "rotten".  Hypocrisy, especially towards oneself, is the greatest sin, these people are punished: they get sick, cripple, die.  Sometimes a person wants to do what he wants, but cannot, because he is afraid that somebody will think badly of him.  This is hypocrisy towards oneself, the beginning of "rot".  You have to be yourself, no matter what others think of you.

- Still, who are “rotten”?

- Anyone. But most of them are among homeless people, drug addicts, alcoholics, psychos ...

- Then you contradict yourself.  They do exactly what they want, without betraying themselves.

- Not all.  Some just because they were persuaded.  I say, everyone is  God, and they abandoned their divine essence, yielded to persuasion, did not fight for themselves.

- Not everyone should be personality, some must be led.

- I do not argue.  Simply the "slaves" are "rotten" and can be used by us as zombies, because they do not have their own core. "

There is a poltergeist created mannequin (he used family's clothes) on the photo. And also two books of Crowley as a sign of his preferences:
