My wife and I started watching this show in season 1.  We quickly became big fans.  They are on season 9 now.  There were a couple of seasons that we really didn't enjoy.  Season 2 Asylum and season 4 freak show.  Season 7 Cult was ok.  Some of the other seasons were fantastic.  They have tied or linked seasons together through plots and did a good job IMO.

Anyways, my point is that episode 1 came out last night.  We have not watched it yet and will let 2 or 3 come out before we start watching.  Cant wait!

btw,  If you have not heard of this show.   They have hired some very big A-list celebs to works on the show.  Kath Bates, Jessica Lange, Cubba Gooding Jr, Lady Gaga for example.

I've had this set to record for years, but I didn't see it on my DVR and hadn't even heard the new season was starting. What's the theme of this season?

it's subtitled 1984 and is a parody/homage to slasher films from the 1980s. I haven't seen episode 1 yet as it starts tonight here in the UK.
We have such sights to show you!

I haven't watch any of this, I don't normally enjoy watching scary supernatural movies. And if I do I usually hide behind a pillow, just at the right time, there is enough freaky stuff in real life!

I told me wife last night I shared my thoughts with y'all about AHS.  The first thing she asked me is if I mentioned that the seasons interconnect and if I mentioned the season "Coven".

I’ve recorded it but won’t be able to watch it until I get back home, I’m visiting family in NY this weekend.

I’ve watched almost all seasons but I could not finish Cult and my favorites were Freak Show and Asylum.

Angela Bassett was in Coven. Stevie Nicks was also in a couple of episodes.

Watched it last night on OnDemand and set the series to record. So far all the slasher tropes are here and I enjoyed it. Not sure how the rest of the season will go, we'll see

I’m not sure I’d be interested in this season, but will have to give it a try.  I enjoyed Asylum, Freak Show (unpopular opinion, I know), and hotel...  it does seem like an interesting premise this season though...

So, I watched the first episode. It was ok. I don’t think Mr. Jingles is the killer. Probably some twist like most 80’s slasher movies had (Jason’s mother in the first Friday the 13th for example).

Yeah, based on past seasons of AHS you can pretty much bet things will take weird turns as the season progresses. They wouldn't just have it be a straightforward slasher thing

They seem to take a hard left turn about ~3/4 of the way through each season.  I dont want to give spoilers away to those who have not watched it.

Comcast offered me the option to rent the series (this is new for them).  Is it worth the expense?  I'm not a big fan of slasher films.

What do you think, Louzar?  Slasher?

So far it's taking some weird turns, depends on your tolerance for this kind of thing. I'm kind of losing interest (as I have in some of the past seasons)

I've been there too.  Some of AHS I have enjoyed, some not so much.

Thanks!

If you approach this as it being campy and silly, you may enjoy it

I think I'll wait till the season is over and maybe I can rent it as a total package.  When I'm bored.  Thanks Vlawde.
