I am sitting here, scared as hell. I just heard a scream outside. I can't identify it. Human? didn't sound like it. But.... it also didn't sound like any animal I ever heard either. We are rural, so I know what coyotes sound like, and bob cats, we hear them sometimes. It sounded like something between a human and a crow. It was loud enough for me to hear inside with all the windows and doors closed. It is one o'clock in the morning..... I heard this once before, a couple months ago..... any ideas what it could be?  There are no close neighbors around, no traffic on the road out front. It's just weird.

If you were asleep, it could be part of a dream, if not don't go outside to check :confused0068: I have seen too many movies :wallbash: and don't understand why people would venture outside   LOL just re- read the part about what you thought it sounded like. At first, I read crow as cow and had to change my mental image even though I don't have mental images :bunny:

No, I am not asleep, I am on my computer. And not worry, I am not going outside to see what it is, not even sticking my head out the door!  lol

It was probably a fox, they have this mating scream called "The Vixen Scream" and it is scary as crud. Here's a video of Fox sounds

I am fine, but I had a hard time sleeping last night. This is exactly what I heard! Thank you very much MrsFrootloops! If I hear it again, I will know what it is. What a relief!

Haha yeah, mr. and I were at the zoo, and they have free roaming peacocks, and we are sitting there having a snack and I hear "Help me! Help me!" And I looked at Mr. and was like "Did you hear some kid crying for help?" And he was like "Yes." So we were looking around, and this peacock caught my eye, and the peacock goes "Help me! Help me!" and I was like "OMG! DEMON BIRD!" lol.

Unfortunately, we have them. One was outside my window one night and let loose a scream. Scared the crap out of me! It then proceeded to walk down the street screaming. Then one night we had a Great Horned Owl perch in the tree, next to my bedroom and started hooting for 3 hours straight. Man, are they loud!

During either day or night, in quiet and/or loud enviroments?
