Are you looking for a Popular Paranormal Community to Own and Operate?

I’m thinking the best thing that I can do for this community is to step down. My thinking on many important issues seems to be different than many of the members here. So I'm thinking I should turn it over (sell it) to an individual or group with the know-how and wherewith to properly lead it. The site is well established on the web. A go-to for those looking for information, wanting to share information or even those needing help.

So, having given this much thought, I really believe my mission should now be to dedicate my time to rebuilding GhostStudy.com. And I also need to get back out in the field where I belong (investigations).

I’ll only leave if I find the right group or individual to take the reins. I would settle for $3500 (US). So, for an individual or group wanting to be on the top of the search engines with a popular paranormal community, this would be an ideal opportunity.

I'm glad you put up that picture of your staff, I'm not disappointed.  lol

I don't think that it's just you Jim.   I think as we grow older we choose the path of least resistance.  You have people who attend for different reasons..that's tough to maintain.  Not to mention the fact that the entertainment industry has made the "unknown" entertainment.  They can watch TV instead of coming here.

I long for the good old days too but they are old and long gone.  The only good news is that it's not over with, not by a long shot.  Science is going to have to make room for it, like it or not.  I read a lot on science (someone has to keep an eye on them) and they are wondering.  New generation, new ideas.

You've been an excellent host and if you've had enough of it by all means do what it is that you want to do because that's important stuff.  You can't please everyone, so please yourself.   And that's not being selfish either.  If you are not happy, you can't make others happy either.

It's been fun Jim.  I'm not going to make hard for you.

If you do find a buyer, I hope they respect the subject matter like you do and don't screw things up.

I thought PSoup and the Ghoststudy site were meant to promote each other? I know Ghoststudy has kind of been languishing, but it can be used as a draw to the forums and vice versa. I'm not sure making a public announcement is the way to go here, you could be discouraging others from being more active here.

I'm pretty picky, Vlawde.... If the site were to be passed on to another group, I would still have to approve them. ;)

And yes, the two sites absolutely do promote each other. And that would be one of the conditions that would have to continue for a set period of time. And the reason I'm making the announcement is because it's important for me to be upfront with the members. No surprises later on.

Will the site sell? probably not... but maybe. But one thing I am confident about, and that is, it would be better off with fresh eyes and a fresh vision.  ;)

I hope the right people come along with the right proposition, although I will say that this place won't be the same without you Jim!

I hope you succeed in finding someone who can run this site as your successor, Jim. You should find a way to get the word out.

The new person could even give Ghoststudy a new bit of pizzazz.

You will be missed, Jim. Be sure to still come along once in a while to say "Hello", okay?

I wish I could but it's not in the cards right now, especially since the new job is taking up such a monumental amount of time. Maybe if I can establish a true home based business, I could devote time to it. I'm sorry to hear you feel like leaving though, this site has been around forever, and we all have different opinions on things, that doesn't make any of us right or wrong. Just because yours doesn't agree with someone elses doesn't mean thats a bad thing. This is one of the few places left that I've seen where people are relatively accepting and understanding of those differences in opinion. I wish you wouldn't leave, but if you feel the need to, I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you, Moiraesfate... and you are absolutely right.

I am actually itching to get back out in the field again (research) ...but more on that later.  :)  And Ghoststudy will be given much of my time if another group takes over with this site.

Jim, your opinions still count as just that: Opinions. Any opinion is better than being 'shut up' in a corner. :)

Edit: I hope you get what I'm trying to say here lol
