Has anyone else seen this preview? And if so, do you know anything about the movie??

Oooh, that looks really good. I haven't heard of this movie, but it looks like one I would like to see. I love Kathy Bates and Keanu Reeves.

Thanks for posting this!!

Hopefully it won't suck. I remember seeing the original on TV when I was a little kid.

It's a remake of a classic Scifi film... Klaatu and his spooky robot arrive to Earth with peaceful intentions, but everyone freaks out and prepares for the saucer invasion.

At least that's the movie I remember.

Keanu should be able to pull off slightly spacey cute alien dude rather well.

My dad loved this movie as a kid ( he has a poster of it in his office) so if they muck it up ( as the seem to do alot with these remakes) he's gonna be awful mad.

Yes it is a remake and I can't wait for Keanu Reaves to go " DUDE! I think you should let me go or something! Jyeah..." lol.

But I'm not completely sure if the title had some significance. If I remember, wasn't the title the same as what Orson Wells called his radio broadcast that caused the first case of Mass Hysteria before the radio station gave it the official broadcast title "war of the worlds" which we all know was also made into a movie? Call me on it if I'm wrong.
"Something weird is going on Jess." Simon whispered as they waited to be served. "I overheard Sara and Hector say something about 'getting back at you' in the library this morning."
Jessie thought for a moment, his face expressionless as usual.
"That's just crazy." he said. "I didn't think you even knew where the library was."

Orson Wells' radio drama was based on a serialized novel by the same name written by H.G. Wells.

I love the original film. There are alot of Christian Overtones in it as well which was deliberately written into the screenplay. Klaatu is essentially a Jesus Christ Character who delivers his message of peace and was murdered by soldiers at the hands of the state. Theres loads of scenes in it where passages from the New Testament are retold.
I think the remake will be awful.

I agree with gummblefish -- I love the original,  and I really don't think I will like the remake.   If they don't exactly copy the original then I think the point of the movie will be lost,  and if they do,  then what's the point.

I must admit I don't think I have ever seen either the original or the remake. I think I must find them and take a look

I have seen both.  I really like the original.  The remake was not bad.
Just because you have one....doesn't mean you have to act like one - Louczar
Life is short, enjoy it!
