I thought that since we have a sticky for the Ghostly TV Guide, why not have one for our favorite ghostly reading!
I absolutely *LOVE* Ghost House books line of regional ghost stories. There are many titles to choose from, with some of my favorites being:
Ghost Stories or London - Edrick Thay
Victorian Ghost Stories-Jo-Anne Christensen
Haunted Highways- Dan Asfar
Another great read is Haunted Heartland - Beth Scott & Michael Norman.
So, what's your favorite ghostly read? Did you just finish something that we all should read? If so, feel free to add to the list!

Wahoooooo!!! Now this is going to be a great thread.I'll admit - most of my "ghostly reads" are fiction, but the few nonfiction I've read mostly deal with New England.Anything by Christopher Rondina (Vampire Hunters Guide to New England) or Mike Bell (Food For The Dead) is great.There's also a dvd called Ghost and Vampire Legends of Rhode Island that goes into some detail about ghostly occurences at the Newport mansions.
I fully believe that not everyone is meant to see things; some things you just aren't meant to know.

Ok, lets see if I can remember the titles & authors: 
Earthbound by Roger Coddington....he works with a medium and speaks directly to spirits in haunted locations, very good read.
Troy Taylor's books, depending on what your into he has a lot of books, he is very good....Haunted Alton and Beyond the Grave were good! I see he has another new one out, Abe Lincoln, the Haunted President, I would get that one, I like reading about him.
And IF IF! I had to recommend a Warren book it would be The Demonologist, because, when you get past the stuff thats meant to scare you, there is some really good information in there, and its very interesting....also pic of Amityville boy is in there.
I have to go home and scan my bookshelves, I am drawing a blank on the rest!

My absolute favorite book to read up on about the Afterlife and NDE's is "Life After Life", by Dr. Raymond Moody.
He was the pioneer in NDE's and began researching them in the early 70's. He noticed a pattern in heart patients who would die and come back, and they would relate the same story over and over again. Out of curiousity, he began paying attention and researching it. He has other books that have followed too, but my favorite is "Life After Life".
It is also a very good book to give as a gift to anyone who has suffered the loss of a family member or friend.

If you get a chance, read "Ghosts Among Us" by Leslie Rule. It's just as good as her first book.
If I think of any other books that are worth reading, I will definitely post them here!

Anything by M Scott Peck MD is good for those interested in the non-human side of things. he is a Psychaitrist who did his own search of people whom he felt had some evil presence around or in them.
Another really good one is Dr Suess's guide to ghosthunting,.."Horton hears an EVP".
I simply cannot put it down.

wierd science is a dandy and details the scientific way things paranormal can and can't exist. You get both sides of the track to view from.

Another gooder is "Ghosts" by Hans Holzer. You can read about ghosts and get a workout at the same time, because this book must weigh about 10 pounds!!!

OOH I like Hans Hozer he has been scaring me for many years.
I have one called "Psychic" and it weighs about the same
, it has tons of stories,,different accounts,,all different catagories too.I was so happy when I found it,,its huge but I bought it for like 5 bucks,,have worn it to a frazzle!

you know, I don't know about the cover - but some of the pics on the sight are...if you click the button (with the face or whatever) at the bottom - it takes you to the actual newspaper clippings and photos... when you read the book - you will see why she is lost... it's really good!
