So, we are devastated that only 10 years later another very different battle has begun as the aggressive treatment that saved his life has now caused another rare type of cancer: chondroblastic osteosarcoma in his face and eye socket. It’s a large tumour and very difficult to operate on because of its location near the brain. Billy cannot withstand strong chemotherapy because of his past cancer history, so specialist Proton therapy in America is his only option for a cure.
So they have been given the cost of £160,000 ($207000) to have the treatment that will save his life. Here in the UK, our NHS has very little options for this treatment within the UK so treatment can only only be sought from abroad.
There is a small media campaign starting here in the UK to raise the money for the treatment. If anyone can spare some change and maybe forgo a Starbucks coffee etc, please could you donate this to his cause at www.backbilly.com and maybe also tweet about him using the hashtags of #BACKBILLY #AREYOUBACKINGBILLY
In just a few short days £13,000 has been reached which is a good start. #AREYOUBACKINGBILLY
