From what I'm hearing, ultraviolet cameras tend to pick up flashes of something when paranormal stuff is afoot, but I haven't seen any of the tv shows biting on that technology yet. Has anyone else heard of ultraviolet cameras being used in this field?

Some of the ghost hunting shows have experimented with full spectrum cameras with interesting results

I figured somebody would have at least experimented with the full spectrum by now. Off hand, do you happen to know any of the results?

Barry from GHI and sometimes GH  has used them with results, getting what appeared to be apparitions that didn't show on infra red, I believe the Ghost Adventures crew uses them sometimes with some results.

Some links ... It's about $350 to get certain cameras modified, and over $1500 to buy a new UV DSLR. Seems like you can rent them, too.

No problem .. no work involved. It's genetically coded in my DNA that I have to click a mouse a certain number of times each day. You just helped me reach my quota.  :)

I think UV and full spectrum cameras do help. If orbs are energy, and light is energy who knows what possible form this energy can take.
I think UV and full spec cams increase the chances of capturing something unexplainable.

Amazon sells converted action cams for $129 or so that are Full Spectrum tho they are EASY to convert. Pickup an SJ4000 , remove the IR cut filter and voila, Full Spectrum Camera. You will have to refocus the camera once you put the modified or new lens sans IR Cut filter in but it's not a hard process. First one I did was a $35 SJ4000 knockoff
