So, nothing has been seen, heard or noticed in any way in my house since around November of 2021.  Prior to that time frame, we had things happen in our house.  It's been quiet for quite awhile.

Yesterday morning, I go to the grocery store like always.  I get home and put up the groceries.  I sit in my recliner for a little while and drink my coffee.  I knew the dogs would want to go out in a little.  I dont like to let them out before my wife gets up as they tend to bark.   Having drank a fair amount of coffee at this point, I needed to take my morning constitution.

I go to the half bath that is literally between my bedroom door and the area where we pen the dogs up at night.  I am sitting there and hear some footsteps that sound like my wife dragging her slippers when she walks first thing in the morning.  The footsteps sound like they go right past the bathroom I'm in.  It was at that point I realized that I never heard our bedroom door open.  You can always hear our door open or close as we have one of the things under the door that seals the gap under the door.  I expected to hear the dogs get excited that they are going to be let out....but, I hear nothing from them.  I finish and go look at the dogs who are all still curled up asleep.  Our bedroom door is shut and my wife was still asleep.

No one else was up or awake in the house.  It sounded like something is back....

That's pretty creepy, Lou!  If it sounds similar to how your wife walks with her slippers, my only guess is that it could be a doppelganger of some sort.  Maybe the dogs thought it was your wife and that's why they didn't stir or bark.

Does your house make any kind of settling noises or anything like that?
Resident skeptic. Deal with it.

It really doesn't.  But, we 've had something in the house for years.  I've seen it physically twice over the years

I did hear some rustling sounds last night when I went to bed.  I was drifting off when I heard it the first time.  I was more aware after hearing it the first time (wasn't sure if I heard it or not since I was drifting off).  I heard it a few more times.  It sounded like someone was slightly rustling a grocery store plastic bag.

I couldn't blame the ceiling fan since we have had it on the lowest setting.  Yes, my wife had left a couple of bags next to her side of the bed of easter stuff when her and my daughter were putting the baskets together for the grandkids.  It was very inconsistent which led me to believe that it was not the fan.  I fell asleep shortly after hearing it a few more times.

I'm glad you asked for an update.  It made me look at the calendar.  it appears I still notice stuff in the every 21-22 days cycle.  No idea what to make of that

Lol that was like when I saw my husband walk past the master bedroom doorway and into the ensuite. As I was just turning off the kitchen light to walk down the hallway the master door way is in full view and when I get down to the bedroom he is in bed fast asleep! Yeah I definitely think it was a friendly but it still made me cautious! I hate it when they show up; I prefere much more to hear them than to see them!

Did you tell your wife? I think from memory she doesn't like things like that either, or sorry, was it you both don't talk about it in the house?

I did not tell her.  She has been having a more difficult time lately with her MS and dealing with our youngest.  That would only add to her stress.

I very well could be way off base - but a while ago - didn't you go through events and dates and came up with about the time frame of a
20 + day cycle?  It seems to still keep it's pace (to me).  What do you think?

Yes.  You are correct.  Things were always noticed on a 21-22 day cycle.  No one was ever able to correlate that to anything to make sense of it.  After many months of no activity, it's strange that it is back and back on that schedule.

Could the stress be stirring things up?
