I haven't logged in for probably more than ten years.

Probably the greatest ghost haunting story I've ever read posted by a member I believe named "the blue flame"

It used to be a sticky in 2008 - a "sticky" was a popular thread that warns against the misadventures of ghost haunting when not pursued properly.  This mans life was basically ruined by his quest into the spirit realm.

I can not find it using search and I wonder if it still exists.

Sorry not much help but the question was asked here once before. Not sure if it will help but here is the thread. If it was on the the website "Ghostvillage" I seem to remember it is no longer available online. As far as I know we didn't have a forum with that title.

Ghost Village unfortunately is no longer with us. It seems the owner "Jeff Belanger" decided to close it awhile back so if the story was once hosted there it's a slim to no chance retrieving it.

Thank you all for the replays.  Yes, the post by aishovoya was exactly the story I am looking for.  Unfortunately, by using internet aging metrics, this is an ancient post from a defunct website.

I had the chance do download a pdf of the whole story as well as comments that a forum member chronicled and made available to everyone at the time but I is was very superstitious about doing so.

In 2008 I had finished reading his "the blue flame's" story online and several disturbing things happened that night that I had never experienced before in my life.

At the time I was a patient registrar and nurse working at an inner city hospital emergency room and I would read ghost stories to calm down.  (that sounds almost funny now but that is what I would do). This particular story I am looking for shook me to the core.

Near the end of reading his story I saw a strange spiderweb of purple and blue electrical lightning come out from my computer monitor that dissipated into the living room.  It was a Samsung syncmaster 19 inch - my very first flat panel monitor - that I bought new in 2007.  I will never forget what happened that night.  It never happened again since.

After finishing the story that night I had my first experience with lucid sleep paralysis as well as visual encounter with a solid shadow entity I can only describe as huge and freezing cold that came towards me by walking through my apartment wall. My bed was lifted off the ground and shook as I lay unable to move a muscle.

I was not the only one to experience such disturbing events after reading this story as many other community members wrote about similar things happening to them.

An occultist who claimed to be a Qabalahlic sorcerer of the Hermetic Golden Dawn wrote that a spiritual life form called a qliphoth had established a magnetic link between the story's original poster and all who read it on the website. By giving the qliphoth attention we had given it faith and therefore power to manifest.

By ignoring the posts and not thinking about it anymore we could sever the magnetic link and prevent future disturbing manifestations as a result of reading the blue flames amazing story.

It seems strange re-reading my post just now that I should bring this up after more than a decade.  I just watched a reaction video of The Exorcist, which I never saw, and that is what prompted me to ask about the story.

I saw the Exorcist when I was about 14 years old at the drive in. It was very frightening and I had to sleep with the light on for over a week I still have a problem looking at her pictures as she was possessed.

I'm confused, Ghost Village has not been taken down, it's still an active site. The link using the Wayback posted above does not link to the article or post being asked about, just the current Ghost Village site  (although the date shown there is 11/13)  Where is the content it's supposed to link to?

No the GV site hasn't been taken down but their forum has disappeared which I believe harbored the thread. Unless of course I'm mistaken. As fruitful as the Wayback machine can be, I've found the search option near impossible to use when looking for something specific.

Oh Wow, I found the entire story!  I had to learn how to use the WayBackMachine and by dumb luck or fortune it was there!

I build my own computers and keep old HDDs for storage and while searching them, found a very old screenshot of my bookmarks from 2008 before updating from Windows Xp or something and there was the original website!

I don't know how long this story will stay archived but here is the address.  I didn't hot link it because I don't know if its allowed on this forum.  Pretty Amazing Though.

Important caveat: Please take the warning about reading this man's experience serious.  As you will see many forum members posted their own experiences while reading Frank's story and none of it was good - it was frightening.
