Interesting.

Ugh..I just want to be cremated. No open casket or anything. As a matter of fact I don't even want a funeral. I'd rather my family not spend the ridiculous amount of money It costs.

I could donate my body to The University of Tennessee's "Body Farm".

I don't really care what happens to my remains once I'm gone. Ditto on the funeral, if friends want to hoist a few in my memory, that would be fine.

I honestly do not get funerals, like, you didn't come visit me when I was alive and when it mattered, but you'll shell out the money and stuff to come see my remains laying in a box and whine about how you wish you spent more time with me while there was still time. Cremate me and go to red lobster for a family dinner.

Cremate me and have a wake and funeral around that. Just have an urn there with a photo of me and flowers. Why spend a massive fortune over a flashy casket, dress, etc. and have people stare at my corpse?

Also; It's not environmentally-friendly and too much space is taken up by formaldehyde-laden human-meat-suits in flashy boxes with stones on top!

Cemeteries may be interesting places to visit (the ones with ornate monuments and tombs are cool to look at) but burial-based cemeteries are wasteful in the long run. Just zoarch my empty, soulless chrysalis in an oven and put it in a pretty urn!

IMHO; Cemeteries should be compact affairs involving cremation urns in small niches in mausoleums. Burial is so wasteful.

Keep my ashes urn in a special cabinet at home, divvied-up in small urns or bottles for loved ones, or scatter in a hole in a ground and plant a beautiful cherry tree on top as a memorial-marker-tree that folks can visit. I love the color pink (those blossoms!) and people can nom on delicious cherries.

I'm with SpukiKitty. I want to be cremated, BUT first I want them to drain me dry, that way I'll really be dead, before being put in the oven. Being burned to death while alive is one of my phobias. I must have been burned as a witch in a previous life.

I have told the wife that I want to be cremated and then jokingly told here to keep me in a pot by the front door so when it snows she can scatter me on the path to help clear the snow (At least I would be still useful after I have gone) ^_^
