The tires on my car are different sizes front to rear.  That means I cannot rotate them.  I somehow managed to get 39K miles on the original set.  I had discount tire order me a set and had them put on yesterday.  Just shy of $1500 for the set with a no pro rate warranty.  The guys at the tire shop were really shocked I got that many miles out of the first set.   My wife was not thrilled with the cost of the tires....lol

FYI (for those that live in the US).  Discount tire sells a warranty on all of the tires they sell.  If you get a nail in a tire...they fix for free.  If the nail is near the edge of the tread, the tire cannot be patched and should be replaced.  Discount tire will give you a new tire for the cost of the warranty.  I have had at least 5-6 tires replaced over the last 20 years from nails near the edge and will always buy tires from them for that reason and they will match ANY internet price from a retailer.

Jeez, why so pricey? I've gotten all my tires at American Tires, and they do fix/replace them for free if you get the warranty. I have a Honda, full set of good tires with warranty runs around $500, which includes installation

I drive a Lexus RC350 F Sport.  235/40/19 on the front & 265/35/19 on the rear.  Low profile, high performance tires are not cheap.  I had been hoping for a sale on them.  I got $120 off in rebates that I need to send in.

That would be one heck of a deal for a car...  Glad you ended up getting a decent deal on used tires.
