It's about 6 minutes long, and contains a total of 2 curse words. If anyone is offended I will take it down, but it is really interesting. The priest has some pretty unique views on the process.

greetings,
an interesting clip Helena.
my personal view is, i don't know if we were seeing any real exorcism's though.
because all i was seeing were people calling the priest names an just struggling about. i didn't see anything that would suggest any kind of supernatural ability. they didn't even speak in any foreign language to their own. no superhuman strength displayed.
interesting none the less, but i don't know if they were true exorcism's.
blessings,

Thanks for your reply Eclectic! I completely agree with your thoughts!! I have been doing a lot of reading on possession and exorcism as of late, and I found it interesting that the church became involved so easily.
In the Roman Catholic church, at least 3 of the following mus t present in order for the church to even *consider* doing an exorcism.
1. The ability to curse/blaspheme in languages unknown to the person.
2. The ability to find secret things, read the mind, and divine future happenings.
3. The ability to make physical efforts abnormal for that person.
4. The act of spitting or vomiting every object the demons would have made the person swallow.
Other symptoms occasionally listed include:
1. Fear and/or hatred of holy objects.
2. The inability to say the word "Christ".
From what I have read, it is not every easy to get the Catholic church to do one.

greetings,
your exactly correct Helena.
iv been studying exorcism for a while myself as well. its a subject that Ive always been interested in.
but your right, it is quite hard to get the roman catholic church to perform one, or, to even admit to performing one. these are some of those things they tend to be hush hush about.
an interesting point though, is that nearly all forms of religion in some form believe in exorcism, regardless of what they call them, so this means, they all believe in possession. which then suggests belief into the supernatural.
have you ever read the roman ritual? its pretty out there, in regards to the way the priest confronts the possessed/demon. an interesting read.

No Eclectic, I haven't read the Roman Ritual. It is something that I do hope to get my hands on one day though! I wasn't aware that someone that wasn't a priest could!
Since you're interested in exorcisms, there a couple of books you may want to pick up, and they both deal with the 1949 St. Louis Exorcism case.(If you haven't already read them!) Troy Taylor's "Devil Came to St. Louis" and Allen's Possessed. I have yet to finish the second one, but it is starting off well.

What is Crystal? The video isn't. Are you talking about the books? They're both about the St. Louis Exorcism case which is what the movie "The Exorcist" is based on.

Thanks for sharing. It's so hard to tell what is cured from excorcisim and what is cured from the power of suggestion. I always thought this was an interesting subjuect, although I do believe that a true possesion is extremely rare.
