Here is on I saw on Lost Tapes awhile ago. The Wiki article says it isn't as violent as it was portrayed on that show:

Dr. Egon Spengler: I'm worried, Ray. All my readings point to something big on the horizon.
Winston Zeddemore: What do you mean, big?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Well, let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic energy in the New York area. Based on this morning's reading, it would be a Twinkie thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds.
Winston Zeddemore: That's a big Twinkie.

Hi Jester, I believe she means "Lost Tapes" which airs on the Animal Planet and most appear to be re-enacted or fake, its hard to tell. I live in Mass and never heard of this strange thing. The only thing I ever witnessed, was what appeared to be a large green lizard type thing standing on rocks, coming toward the road to our right as we were riding in the back seat, but I cannot remember what town it was in.  I was of course the only one that saw it, but it was real and never forgot it. My brothers teased me and said I made it up LOL..Interesting stuff HHB thanks. cwy.gif

BA is right Jester. The show is called The Lost Tapes. It's a show that features crytips, but like BA says it is reaaaally cheesy. I like watching just for ideas to search for. smile.gif

It does remind me slightly of the game characters 'Lemmings' but without the hair.
I don't think I would hug a lemming, they have suicidal tendancies.

Dover Demon -

Truly mis-named the Dover demon was not hostel to anyone that saw it though some say it made a sound like a hawk and hisses like a snake. It's resemblance to any demon mythology is more of an insult to demons. It has all the characteristics of a 'grey', from alien ufology, It has also been compared to a pooka, because of an outcropping of rock at the end of farm st. was thought to have been miss named from polka rock and was suppose to mean pooka rock after the irish myth but there is nothing to back this. The legend of the Puca - meaning ghost in old gealic - from celtic mythology: It's usual form was of a dark ghostly horse with glowing golden eyes, It was a shape-shifter, but its other forms, consist of furry creatures, or a fur laden goblin form, was said to impart warning's on November 1 of each year when it switched from doing bad and did no harm on this day. It has no resemblance to the Dover demon. Term note: In old english puca translates to puck, like Puck, the satyr (aka:furry goblin) from shakespeare.

I took a virtual walk along forest street on Google maps, Typical long forest road, low broken rock walls, old rich looking historic homes, breaks with longs fields. Probably creepy at night. the city website claims it is one of the richest areas of boston. It shows all the symptoms of being a hoax, but if not would in my experience fall into ufology because of it's one time encounter that has not reoccurred since. Boston globe did a follow up which states bartlett still stands by his story. The most common scientific belief that holds the most merit is a baby moose, but ufologists site the fact it was reported to stand and had claw hands.

Original sketch by bartlett the first teen to report the sighting. bartlett's sketch, pic baby moose, pic of a grey are below for your examination.

original sketch

baby moose

Alien 'grey'

there was a picture in 2004 of small creature between two fireman in Chile that many believe was a Dover demon but I feel it really just weakens the case, but here it is to complete this case file.

Legend of the 'Pooky'

Illustration of the beast.

Yes, this fearsome creature first made its presence known in 1978 as seen in the footage below. Has often been reported to be found lurking within Chester drawers, and jump out a bedazzle unwilling victims.

The footage shows a the horrible struggle of the beast with the great Paranormal Investigator Detective Garfield, photo provided below -

After this fierce combat. The great Detective was victorious. Photo below of the capture of a real life 'Pooky'

This great adventure of Detective Garfield and the capture of the mythological 'Pooky' can now be relived through the release of the following video game, so future young amateur paranormal Investigators can develop the skills of the trade.

Detective Garfield should be an inspiration to us all, his loyal dedication to the finding the 'Pooky' is a shining example of what a true professional can achieve if they only apply themselves, I know I count him as one of my own inspirations and model my own reporting skills after his teachings.

I don't even know if Helena has fed Him/her/it since Halloween ..... ermm.gif

FLASH! This is not a test. This is an activation of the emergency broad cast network: Proper authorities report a sighting of a mythical creature called the "Pooky' it is consider wild and dangerous. Proceed with caution.

The lastest update states that the "Pooky" has moved from its normal hunting grounds of chester drawers to now haunting basements as seen in this lastest footage of the 'Pooky' caught on camera.

Proper authorities state that if you hear knocking at your basement door you should NOT answer it. You should evacuate and move to another country and hope it doesn't follow you.

This concludes this broadcast of the LOL network.

OH FANTASTIC!!!  dry.gif

Helena's left the basement door unlocked again!! mad0218.gif

I zoomed in on the black and white photo, with the horses and although blurry and hard to make out, it does look to me like a small monkey probably a squirrel monkey or a spider monkey.  It is common for people in Chile to keep these as pets and when they are fed up with them, just release them into society.

So I think that because the photo is blurry and it is hard to pick out the figure, I think I can see a thin tail, which would be hard to see on this photo.  I may be wrong about the tail, but I think it is definately a small monkey of some sort.  It is about the right size and posture.  I can't find a photo of one of these monkeys on it's hind legs but I can definately see the similarity.

And here is this - Original link.

Posted by: Loren Coleman on July 27th, 2009

         1893 "Dover Demon"
  © Loren Coleman 2009

The drawings of the Dover Demon seen in Dover,  Massachusetts, from April 1977. However, it actually is from a  newspaper article published in New York City on December 3, 1893.

This drawing was discovered by Robert Schneck (the author of The President's Vampire) and shared with me, of course, because of my foundation interest in the Dover Demon.   My appreciation to Schneck for bringing this to my attention.

One of Bill Bartlett's early sketches of the Dover Demon, April 1977.

A modern replica of the 1977 Dover Demon sold in Japan.

The 1893 drawing is not of a sighting of any creature, however, but  an artist's (perhaps humorous) imagined illustration of how humans  might appear in the future, viewed from the Victorian era.  Specifically, the work is tied to the fictional writings of H. G. Wells and his little-known article, "The Man of the Year Million."  It is Wells who has predicted the future of humans will see a  diminishing of their hair, nose, teeth, ears, and chin. The above 1893  drawing appears to be an attempt to capture Wells' thoughts in a bit of  newspaper art.

Elsewhere, H. G. Wells's own sketch of the Man of Tomorrow was once drawn as an autograph. Credit David Szondy.

It is a sad commentary that as a reflection of the man of today,  near the 1893 Dover Demon-like drawing, Schneck also found an image  from an ad about paid (10˘) viewings of a "wild hairy man." This was  obviously an indigenous person (perhaps from Oceania) in an  entertainment sideshow.

    Back to the future…

As you may recall (see here  from 2007), I remember from the 1950s and 1960s articles on "future  humans" that were illustrated with (usually) bald men, the supposed  picture of evolved my best friend sapiens.

  Future men?

  Future man? = 1893.

It is funny to me that Schneck would find this remarkable drawing  from 1893, and it would nicely match the drawings that the eyewitnesses  had sketched of the Dover Demon in 1977. I am not certain the 1893  treatment mirrors any future version of humans, however.

Please, also, let me be straight. I'm not saying anything about any  space-time link between 1893-1977, or time travelers from the future  journeying "back" to 1977 Dover. I merely think it's an interesting  coincidence and an outstanding find on Schneck's part.

While I still maintain that the four eyewitnesses actually saw  something extraordinary in 1977, which cannot be explained by mundane  species, I do not know what the Dover Demon was or is. It remains the  most unusual of the unexplained unknowns in my files of Fortean  creatures, which appear to overlap into cryptozoology. After all, the  Dover Demon is a cryptid, an unknown animal, apparently, seen in rather  normal settings of rural Massachusetts.

  The 1893 article…

Robert Schneck has painstakingly transcribed the news item and  writes, "The article is hard to read but it's written with heavy-handed  humor that presumably went over big in 1893."

The World, New York City, New York, December 3, 1893.

MAN IN THE YEAR MILLION
  ———
Look at the Picture Below and You Will See What the Human Race Is Coming To.
  ———
AN INORDINATE CASE OF SWELLED HEAD.

Somebody in the Pall Mall Budget has let his fancy take wings in the  contemplation of the time when all of the _____ _____ in these United  States will be anything but humanity.

This ______ 's theme is the "Man of the Year Million." And, judging  from the accompanying picture, it will take about that long to complete  the change. There is comfort in the thought that there is some little  time ahead for good-looking fellows.

In his introduction this writer says: "Accomplished literature is  all very well in its way, but much more fascinating to the  contemplative man are the books that have not been written. These  latter are no trouble to hold; there are no pages to turn over. One can  read them in bed on sleepless nights without a candle."

One of the unwritten volumes is a big book by Prof. Holzkopf, of the  University of Weissnichtwo, on "The Necessary Character of the Man of  the Remote Future. Deduced from the Existing Stream of Tendency."

Just as the bird is the creature of the wing, and is moulded and  modified for flying, so man is a creature of brain, and must live by  that and not by physical strength. Naturally, then, that which is  animal in him must gradually disappear as civilization more and more,  becomes a fixed habit. He doesn't need big muscles to get a living; nor  big jaws to seize his food and crush it. His jaws get smaller, his  teeth and hair are soon lost; trains and trolley cars render speed  unnecessary; he doesn't have to hunt his wife. She hunts him. Wit, and  not strength. Is what he needs. Hence the legs will shrink up and the  head swell.

Science gives him the knife and fork. There is no reason why it  should not masticate and insalivate his food. Does it now digest it  with all the pepsin compounds? Teeth will disappear.

The eyebrow used to be a buffer to protect the eye from savage  blows. Once exterminate football and the ridge of bone over the eye  will go the way of the hair on the pate.

In some of the most highly developed crustaceans, the whole  alimentary canal has solidified into a useless cord, because the animal  is nourished by the food in which it swims. The man of the year million  will not be bothered with servants handing him things on plates which  he will chew, and swallow and digest. He will bathe in amber liquid  which will be pure food, no waste matter assimilated through the pores  of the skin. The mouth will shrink to a rosebud thing; the teeth will  disappear; the nose will disappear-it is not nearly as big now as it  was in savage days-the ears will go away. They are already folded up  from what they were, and only a little tip fast vanishing remains to  show that ages ago they were long-pointed things which bent forward and  backward to catch the sound of approaching enemies.

But the brains grow, for they are exponents of the brain, and the great soulful eyes.

Prof. Holzkopf goes on to that gloomy time when all animal life  shall have been superseded by mechanical contrivances, on to the time  when the earth cools and the human tadpoles burrow in the earth for  warmth.

But the year million is far enough away, isn't it?

Signing off,

Ghost137
