Many companies will encourage their employees to have holiday meals together.  Whether it be a company wide dinner at a nice location or managers will take their team to lunch or have a pot luck luncheon with his team.

My boss doesn't do any of those things.  He does....a holiday breakfast with his team.  He has some guys that are into smoking their own bacon or their own sausage.  People bring in their favorite waffle recipes and waffle irons.  Everyone gets up extra early to cook loads of bacon and sausage and we make fresh waffles and eat well / hang out for 1/2 a day.

Since I am new to this group and everyone here has been bringing everything.  The only thing I could think of to bring is vanilla ice cream.  Not in the round 1/2 gallon buckets.  The rectangular type container.

Has anyone ever had 2 fresh waffles with a 1/2" - 1" thick wedge of ice cream between them for breakfast?  I have not had them since my kids were young.  I would do this a couple times a year with my kids on a Saturday morning.

I知 starved and this post made me hungrier...
Love waffles and ice cream. I think a caramel sauce would go nice with it.

My work does a "Holiday Meal" around Thanksgiving.  They hire a local restaurant to cater lunch and it's very good.  They usually just do salad, turkey, potatoes & gravy, and a vegetable.  They always let us get seconds, too.  Pretty good deal.

We had great Christmas lunches at work too, but that was 15 years ago. Now the staff and management have changed and it isn't the same.

I brought deer sausage years ago for our pot luck at work.  I put a sign on it saying it was deer sausage.  I was asked not to bring it in any more.  Apparently, there are people who didn't realize there was pork in there too.
