Hi all,

in this new world of staying home forever, we're all doing new things and different ways of doing the old things.

I'd love to hear about something you've done lately that you've never done before/never thought you'd do!

I'll start;

Last night I joined an online dance party with people all over the world learning dance moves. It came up on Facebook and I'm like 'why not' it was quite fun :)
It's in the trees, it's coming!

My neighbours to the right of us are good friends. We also have fenced backyards so....we were making plans to cook the food on the bbq out back then set up lawn chairs and tables on our corresponding driveways and eat our dinners there. The green patch between our homes is 12 feet. Last weekend the properties in front of us have their backyards sideways to the road and their entrances on roads perpendicular to our road. They have no fenced yards but one couple was on on their grass sunbathing then having a picnic. Another family with a finished closed off wooden back patio had their toddler out screaming at people saying hi.

Light and Shadow. A place where the line is blurred between both worlds.

Nothing is as it seems. Shadow doesn't always mean evil and light doesn't always mean divine.

Dance party sounds like a blast.
My life hasn’t changed much at all.
Go to work and come home.
Go to the grocery store and come home.
The only difference is wearing gloves and trying to wear a face mask (being claustrophobic, the mask makes me feel like I’m smothering and a bit panicky).

Last Tuesday, I got a video call on Facebook Messenger from my cousin Adam.  He then had five of my other cousins (Brad, Chris, Ryan, Tyler, and Nathan) join the conversation.  Best thing ever!

yeah those facebook videos are great I get to see my family that way too! I think the strangest is lining up outside to  limit the number inside the building.

My boss set up a virtual happy hour every Friday for our team to use our video conference calls to all sit at home, drink beer and hang out

My work uses Zoom since we're working at home for meeting etc. Even in the office we had Fun Fridays every 2 weeks, now we do them on Zoom, although we're limited in the games we can play versus being at the office. The company I work for has multiple clients we serve (customer service stuff mostly) so to some extent we mostly know people in our specific contract. They just started Social hours every week online so all company employees can Rubbish for an hour (and get paid). They've done a great job overall in doing things to help combat the feeling of isolation

I am still working as usual with PPE at work so I feel a little under protected at the supermarkets! Your social hour online sounds cool.

yeah I agree Klainey, it doesn't feel really 'safe' to be out in the throngs at the shops, I'm avoiding as much as I can really. Only going once or twice a week and planning ahead.

This weekend we saw a lot more things opening up and getting back to normal and schools are back (although in a reduced capacity) today, so it will be interesting to see how that goes.
